Nigella must have a hidden ageing portrait in her attic

She looked amazing today & 20 years younger than her true age.

OP posts:
EasterHoliday · 05/12/2013 13:45

which is presumably why Louise Mensch was so up front about it.

If I was Nigella, I'd be pretty furious with the court artist's impression of me as a cannonball-breasted, tiny armed blow up doll.

squoosh · 05/12/2013 13:46

Did Louise Mensch ever actually admit to having a facelift?

I was flabbergasted that a 40 year old woman though such surgery necessary.

EasterHoliday · 05/12/2013 13:54

yes she did. I think she's even named the surgeon that did it? Again with her it's the squillioinaire husband who comes on the scene and suddenly she's making serious grooming efforts.

SnapespeareSong · 05/12/2013 13:56

maybe i don't scrutinise celebs enough. she looks good to me...and reading her account of her marriage certainly makes her free in my mind in comparison to the many photographs of her husband with his hand at her neck.

her head is held high. she's not denying that she has taken coke, she's explained - or if you are particularly uncharitable 'excused' that behaviour. she's walking into that court to give her account instead of scuttling around in teh wake of her ex-husband. so, yes. dignified.

petitdonkey · 05/12/2013 14:00

I think she looks wonderful - I don't think anyone should be analysing her face discussing whether or not she has work - she looks wonderful because she looks strong and, as others have said, dignified. Don't forget the sisterhood ladies!!

(BTW, I go to the same hairdresser as her who has never said anything about her other than she is one of the nicest, most gracious clients she has ever had).

That's my favourite saying Petitdonkey!

JapaneseMargaret · 05/12/2013 17:30

Regardless of whether she's had work done, I'm still Team Nigella.

That Saatchi creature is an odious little runt.

I like nigella. She has always looked so fab for her age.

I don't think she needs all the make up in her later series's that's she's done. She looked very naturally pretty. And she's always looked very curvy and natural both before and after any weight losses. I

I wish her all the best. Another member of team nigella here.

bishboschone · 05/12/2013 19:53

I agree saatchi seems even
More creepy than her !

SwedishEdith · 05/12/2013 21:00

The court artist's can't make any sketches in court. I remember listening to an interview with Julia Quenzler (and you see her name on a lot of the sketches) They have to do it all from memory as soon as they get out and sometimes within a really short timescale to get them ready for the news. I imagine they may even do a few hearings a day if more than one high profile case going on in same court. But that doesn't really excuse some of the sketches of Nigella when everyone knows what she actually looks like, with or without work.

I thought she looked bloody magnificent.

KrabbyPatty · 05/12/2013 21:04

I think she's a fine example of the wonders of good Botox.

As can I Grin

bishbashboosh · 05/12/2013 21:21

I just thought the only difference to other recent pictures of her were that she has lots if good make up onWink lots, and on camera you don't notice it.

Why is everyone saying but this but that? If she's had work done who wouldn't?

Twinklestein · 05/12/2013 21:31

She's had some great work done, and her weight loss suits her. She's looking much younger since her last set of pics in the press, around the time she spilt with Saatchi. He's clearly a total arsehole.

Notcontent · 05/12/2013 22:37

She does look amazing. I know this is completely silly, but I was thinking "how can you be unhappy when you have such amazing looks".

Twinklestein · 05/12/2013 22:40

When you've got an absolute arsehole of an ex husband trying to destroy you...

Ubik1 · 05/12/2013 22:43

Deffo Botox

She used to be a beauty journalist for Vogue, didn't she?

Mignonette · 05/12/2013 22:44

She wrote food columns for Vogue but cannot recall beauty ones. I may be wrong though.

Lighthousekeeping · 05/12/2013 22:46

I want her coat

squoosh · 05/12/2013 22:47

She definitely had a beauty column at one stage during the 90's, think it was for the Saturday's Times. I remember it was the first time I'd read about Eve Lom.

Ubik1 · 05/12/2013 22:50

She became the deputy literary editor of The Sunday Times in 1986 at the age of 26.

wow

(i'm sure I remember a makeup column - but am addled in old age)

Ubik1 · 05/12/2013 22:51

Squoosh - that was it!

coffeeinbed · 05/12/2013 22:59

It was the Saturday times.
I remember it clearly.

boogiewoogie · 05/12/2013 23:01

Yes, Nigella wrote a make up column for the Times in the Saturday magazine. I used to read it as a student and distinctively recall one about gold make up for Christmas and one about wearing red lipstick.

She got replaced by Hannah Bettes.
