I bought this skirt from Anthropologie in my lunch break today and now feel guilty about the cost (especially as...yeah, I also bought this hat ) . I have no occasion to wear it! But loved it so Xmas Blush

The hat is fan!

The skirt link doesn't work. What's it called?

BunnyLebowski · 03/12/2013 15:51

*fab

Doh!

rainbowfeet · 03/12/2013 15:55

The skirt is lovely.. I can see it with so many things a plain tee & statement necklace, biker jacket, twinset, vest & short tailored jacket or a cashmere jumper to mix textures.. But the hat... Not so sure!! But then I'm not a hat wearer Smile

Beeyump · 03/12/2013 16:00

trying again It's called Plenty by Tracy Reese Frou Frou Skirt.

Yes, I was thinking of the skirt with a very plain but still lovely t-shirt - but really, I think it's just too much for everyday wear, and I may have to keep it for a hypothetical wedding. Sad

Ooooh the skirt is lovely Smile.

You could really dress it up or down!

Good shopping Grin

OneLittleLady · 03/12/2013 16:11

wow, I love that skirt, I wish i could afford it myself. I'd wear it every day and swish about like a pretty pretty princess! Grin

HoHolepew · 03/12/2013 16:18

The skirt is lovely but the hat is epic.

lookatmybutt · 03/12/2013 16:26

That skirt is so gorgeous. Even though it probably wouldn't suit me, I'd find an excuse to wear it somewhere, somehow.

Trip down the river? Picnic in the park?

I might even wear it with para boots, but I'm uncivilised like that.

I do like the hat as well. I see a cloche in my future.

noddyholder · 03/12/2013 16:27

I love it!

thecatfromjapan · 03/12/2013 16:32

Both are really lovely. Totally agree with rainbowfeet with regard to the versatility of the skirt.

And I love the hat, too. I'm feeling a strange urge to purchase a hat. I don't know where it has come from: I don't wear hats, not even the wool, ordinary kind. And the urge I'm feeling is definitely for something like your hat. Which I love (yes, I know I've said that, but I thought I would show my commitment by pointing out I have loved it all the way to the end of this post.)

PiratesLifeForMe · 03/12/2013 16:33

Wow, love both!

allmycats · 03/12/2013 16:34

The skirt is very lovely - the hat , even better !!!! Lucky You

Beeyump · 03/12/2013 16:34

I am delighted that you think my new hat epic Holepew!

I do seriously feel quite conflicted about the skirt, I don't often buy one item as expensive as that. nearly got this instead and feel it might have been more practical...

My goodness, you are a great shopper!

Beeyump · 03/12/2013 16:36

Buy a hat, thecat Grin

It gives one a lovely glow.

I've just seen your post about "saving" it.

No!

You must not.

You must do what rainbowfeet has suggested and dress it up and down and wear it out and about. Clothes really shouldn't be saved. Life is very, very short, and nothing emphasises this quite like opening a wardrobe, and surveying all the "Saved" clothes, hanging there, waiting, waiting, waiting. Make your days special right now, and special and lovely for what they are. Don;t wait for the "Time Fairy" to appear and sprinkle fairy dust over some Special Day.

Sorry. I know I'm a little OTT about this but it is a lesson experience has taught me.

Go wear that skirt with a T-shirt and tights tomorrow. It'll brighten up your day, and you'll be the Woman Who Wears Skirts Like That Just Because. And that will be a thing that makes you happy. Maybe not massively happy. Maybe not Bringing Peace to the Middle East happy. But a bit happy. which is OK.

Bunbaker · 03/12/2013 16:38

I am obviously in a minority. I don't like the skirt at all. Whispers - DD has something like it in her dressing up box.

Beeyump · 03/12/2013 16:44

I loved your last post, cat, loved it.

OP posts:
BunnyLebowski · 03/12/2013 16:46

You say that like it's a bad thing BunBaker???

Grin

OP - wear it tomorrow! I'd wear it with a t-shirt and converse or opaques and grungy boots!

Minicooper · 03/12/2013 16:46

Oh. I love both. And now I want to go back to work (SAHM at the moment). You have reminded me how much I love shopping. And work. And having some money! So I'm with cat - wear tomorrow and enjoy!

HyvaPaiva · 03/12/2013 16:51

This is going to be a really unpopular post. I don't like the skirt because I saw it and instantly thought 'bloodstained'. I'm really sorry but that's genuinely what came to mind.

The hat is just fabulous, I love it.

TwoPeasOnePod · 03/12/2013 16:51

Wear it any time any day any boots (I'd wear it with my new amazing biker boots

I speak as a woman who recently wore a fifties leopard print pencil dress to a quiet Indian meal in a restaurant on a Sunday night. Everyone else wore t shirts and trainers. It doesn't matter Smile

Twinklestein · 03/12/2013 16:53

The hat is nice, but the skirt is GORGEOUS. I might have to get one for Christmas.

Dress every day as if it were your last... that's cobblers, but you get the point.

smudgedgraffiti · 03/12/2013 16:55

OMG I love the skirt, it is fabulous.

I agree you should wear it, good God woman wear it every day! - it will look amazing with clompy boots black tights and a plain top.
