I bought this skirt from Anthropologie in my lunch break today and now feel guilty about the cost (especially as...yeah, I also bought this hat ) . I have no occasion to wear it! But loved it so Xmas Blush

How come I can't see the skirt?! Have tried on iPad and laptop :(

libertychick · 03/12/2013 21:02

Love the skirt, not so fussed on the hat (but love Cat's eloquent defense of frippery). Dress is a little 'meh'.

I love the skirt but hate the hat.

There's a colourful (euphemism) character in our town who wears hats just like it.

Bunbaker · 03/12/2013 21:51

I have just shown the skirt to DD (13). Her response was "that skirt is horrific"

HanneHolm · 03/12/2013 21:52

I'm with her.

Beeyump · 03/12/2013 21:58

Thanks for the feedback Hmm

Love the hat, I hope you get great joy wearing it, am channelling Cat.

Skirt, not my thing but I wish it was, too old and too fat nowadays.

Love the dress too, if you are a petite Alexa Chung you could get away with it.

synplicity · 03/12/2013 22:32

The skirt is soo pretty and has been said by almost everyone posting can easily by dressed up and down, and judging by my DP giddily screaming "want" you shouldn't keep it hidden in the wardrobe, but flaunt it every chance you get

namechange74 · 03/12/2013 22:36

That skirt is destined to be worn on Xmas day with heels, cashmere sweater and big blingy necklace - love it Grin

Beeyump · 04/12/2013 13:40

Aaaand, just got another hat Xmas Blush I'll stop now.

I saw that skirt last week when I was wasting time on Anthropologie website (second favourite timewaster after MN s and B). I love it. Please wear it for me. I can't as I have just bought some boots I don't need.
Wear with plain long sleeve t shirt and simple chain necklace. Or chunky not too long jumper. Or masculine tailored waistcoat (ok no idea where you buy it - e bay?) or jacket over long t shirt. No idea about shoes - like the biker boot or converse idea for everyday, but try whatever you have. Something will work.
Wear whenever - its dressing up for grown ups. Its a good thing!

Tigerstripes · 04/12/2013 18:46

Love, LOVE the skirt, love the colour and feather of the green hat but hate the bow, hate the shamrock dress, quite like the Russian hat.

All the items are of a firm style, not the same style, but firmly of their own style, IYSWIM. Do you normally wear similar clothes or are you stomping decisively down the path of something different?

Sexykitten2005 · 04/12/2013 22:09

Thanks bee now I have to explain to OH why i Have yet another hat....

Beeyump · 04/12/2013 22:31

What hat did you get?! Vicariously excited!
Yes, they are all quite different I agree - my style is just sort of 'seeing things I love and irresponsibly purchasing.'

OP posts:
Rubybrazilianwax · 04/12/2013 23:12

Love the skirt and both hats. I get great wear out of my russian hat and its so cosy. The skirt would go with lots of things, something fitted on top would set off its shape better I think?
I have a similar buying style beeyump, I love falling for something in a shop and especially finding something a bit different. I am not into the idea of buying a new wardrobe for each season/year and hate dressing like others with a passion!

Sexykitten2005 · 04/12/2013 23:35

I bought the flapper hat. BUT it's a boomerang, I can't wear hats like that, I am not trendy enough or brave enough and I just can't keep it. I've been a mix of excited and scared of it ever since I hit the order button.

Beeyump · 04/12/2013 23:43

Of course you are trendy and brave enough - I do understand your hesitation though. I have made the decision to wear the hat tomorrow. I'll just be at work, then having coffee/dinner with a friend, but I'm determined to wear it. Please join me, as it were, when yours arrives! Xmas Smile

The skirt is adorable ... but don't you have to basically be Natalie Portman to be able to wear it?!

I love cloche hats, but I'm not loving that particular one. A bit too BRG.

I love Anthropologie homeware, but find their clothes very, um, niche....

Beeyump · 05/12/2013 12:40

Nah, you don't have to basically be Natalie Portman to be able to wear it.

Curioustiger · 05/12/2013 13:18

I don't think so either. That shape us quite forgiving. It's important it's the right length though ... On me a skirt like that would have to fall to knee length, any more would make me look stumpy!

LalaDipsey · 05/12/2013 13:41

My skirt has been dispatched, along with 2 hats (Lewis cloche and the gem one!). I am v excited (although my credit card has melted!!) and hope they suit me!

Beeyump · 05/12/2013 13:43

That's why I plan on wearing it with heels tiger. Grin I'm an unfortunately short and stumpy size 8.

OP posts:
Beeyump · 05/12/2013 13:47

The Lewis cloche is dreamy! Please let me know how you get on with the skirt Lala. My hat is so far bearing up very well, I'm feeling quite in love...
