£250 to spend on a bag... What would you buy?

I need a new main handbag as my old faithful lovely brown leather one I use for work has started to break after almost 10 years.

My budget is £250ish but I can't seem to find anything between Topshop and Mulberry that I like.

Do your worst, bag ladies.

Fossil or radley?

Barbabelle · 25/11/2013 11:11

You could always send your old faithful to a handbag hospital. I found a few through google in the past when I was considering having one of my bags renovated. It wouldn't be cheap, but you'd come in under budget.

minipie · 25/11/2013 11:20

I'm on a handbag hunt too, similar budget, we can look together Smile

I like the look of the Oushka Dover link comes in lots of colours.

Reiss have some pretty bags though a bit blingy for me. Jigsaw usually have good bags but not so keen on this season. Kate Spade and Coccinelle worth a look.

I refuse to buy Mulberry as their quality has gone down and they now charge silly prices. I really like Frye bags great quality and reasonably priced.

beachedwhalesarecool · 25/11/2013 11:30

Have a look at Danish brand Markberg. Lots if their handbags are under £200 and the quality is fantastic.

cardamomginger · 25/11/2013 11:32

Coach.

hermioneweasley · 25/11/2013 11:38

I'd look at furla

chartreuse · 25/11/2013 11:42

Marc by Marc Jacobs bags are lovely. Have a look around, you can get bargains especially if you order from the US.

MaccaPaccaismyNemesis · 25/11/2013 11:43

The Bridge- beautiful Italian leather :)

I would get another MBMJ bag and I plan to when the sales start.

FracturedViewOfLife · 25/11/2013 13:33

In fact I'm thinking of getting the same bag but in a different colour. Thats not crazy is it?

Repunsal · 25/11/2013 13:54

Have a look at Russell and Bromley

Bearleigh · 25/11/2013 13:56

I have a Longchamp one - made of leather but the same style as their le Pliage ones, so very simple. I got it from Selfridges:

I have had it 18 months now, and it is showing no wear at all. With the £35 left over you could get one of those mini-bags for inside to keep things organised.

cloggal · 25/11/2013 14:16

Coach, Whistles, Kate Spade?

Workberk · 25/11/2013 15:35

Thanks everyone, some great suggestions I hadn't thought of here.

I've just browsed some nice R&B and Furla ones I like but need to see them in real life before I decide...

Most the the MBMJ ones I like are more than I want to spend. Which bag do you have Fractured ?

this one from Coach in Port.

Eminybob · 25/11/2013 15:41

Ted Baker?

sidneypie · 25/11/2013 15:55

I'd buy one from Fairtrade or similar for about £15 and send the rest of the money to a charity.

LittleTulip · 25/11/2013 15:57

Fossil have some lovely leather ones in at the min.

dexter73 · 25/11/2013 15:59

sidneypie - have a medal!

elskovs · 25/11/2013 16:22

No you wouldn't Sidney Grin

I like the Coach one too

FracturedViewOfLife · 25/11/2013 16:37

I have the Too Hot To Handle Mini Shopper mouthfull The one on the left the one on the right is the hobo. It's £290 here but they are always reduced in the sales and if you get them from the US they are usually cheaper too.

NewChoos · 25/11/2013 16:40

The coach bag is lovely.
