shopafrolic · 08/11/2013 08:14

Episode 2 is worse Dry so yes to daylight hours. V powerful stuff.
I need to get dressed. Feeling v low ATM as DS is being a nightmare and I'm losing my temper on a daily basis. Must pull myself out of it.

LinusDKD · 08/11/2013 08:50

Oh shop don't be too hard on yourself. Toddlers can really make you want to tear your hair out.

When DS is acting up I do sometimes plonk him in front of the tv (thank god for Cbeebies) or let him watch videos of diggers (or people unwrapping Kinder Eggs Hmm ) on youtube.

Be kind to yourself. DS loves you and you love him. But that doesn't mean you have to like him or his behaviour all the time. You are only human.

Sleepwhenidie · 08/11/2013 09:33

I have just dropped ds2 at nursery, he is about go go on a trip to city farm...I am feeling guilty about heading to the gym rather than joining them but the thought of a helping supervise a gaggle of 3 year olds..Confused. I could still turn round and go with them....what to do....?

shopafrolic · 08/11/2013 09:34

Thanks Linus just one of those weeks I hope. Hardest job I've ever done. Struggling with shooting season too as it means I only have DH one day a week. I feel as though I am constantly shouting and raging - not like me at all. :(
Anyway - dressed now and determined to take him swimming in the hope that it cheers us both up.

Sleepwhenidie · 08/11/2013 09:36

Swimming always cheers up the dc Shop. shouting and raging sort of comes with the territory with 2/3 year olds (or was that just me)...don't worry, it will pass Smile

Sleepwhenidie · 08/11/2013 09:39

Smile...just got my good excuse, electrician just rang and is coming over at 11am-so now I can't do the trip! Still feel bad though. I will do the next one!

shopafrolic · 08/11/2013 09:45

Phew - lucky escape Sleep and Thanks
My back is killing me from Pilates too so that isn't helping my mood.

LinusDKD · 08/11/2013 09:53

Phew that was a close one sleep Wink

shop it is hard because, unlike a 'normal' job, you don't have evenings, nights and weekends off. And you don't love your colleagues whereas you do love your DC.

P.S. I fully expect you to quote all of this back to me when DS (or DD Sad ) is being difficult and I have a little moan here. Grin

In fashion related news, I looooove my J Crew vintage cotton tee in Byzantine Blue.

OneLittleLady · 08/11/2013 10:46

Be kind to yourself shop I have never been as exhausted and shouty/ragey as when DS was a toddler. He just never, ever stopped. The tantrums in shops were the worst, not because he wanted me to buy him things, no just because! It will pass though, it will pass Flowers

Mignonette · 08/11/2013 11:59

Shop my love Flowers.

if a work colleague or work place subjected you to the hours that you work as a parent, the working conditions of a parent and the abuse/lack of recognition/tantrums etc directed towards a parent they'd be hauled before so many tribunals/executive committees and courts they'd be finished.

We all get shouty and ragey. That does NOT make you a bad parent. Maybe a little chat w/ DH to ensure you get the time away that he does (I'm not implying criticism of him per se just that most men seem to get more time away than women from the little darlings Wink).

QueenCadbury · 08/11/2013 12:11

shop we all get ragey. And linus we all use cbeebies too. Or in our case, peppa pig. Thnk goodness for the nick jnr peppa pig channel. Non stop peppa fun Hmm. I even let dd occasionally have fruit shoots too Shock Wink. It was my eldest yesterday that gave me the rage as she was literally screaming at us. She's been as good as gold since though and I even found her feeding the cats this morning!

fixy how you doing? Is 23rd any good for you?

I need to get back on the healthy eating/ excercise bandwagon. I've kind if let myself go since the weekend and am not feeling good for it. After last nights curry I feel really bloated and to curb the hangover feelings I've had 2 chocolate muffins in costa this morning Blush.

LinusDKD · 08/11/2013 12:13

I am in love

These could be my first ever animal print purchase but they are £££.

Mignonette · 08/11/2013 12:16

Queen My sons GF has a job in a cafe making muffins. She brings the unsold ones home. It is a terrible pleasure Smile. The apple and caramel ones are like crack.

MarshaBrady · 08/11/2013 12:27

Linus they are gorgeous.

All I can say is I'm glad I have no planned mu or seeing anyone today. Up all night with ds2 coughing and not well. Me either. Having a restful day at home together. Perhaps the sun will shine and I can don sunnies on the sr.

Foxy hope you slept well.

Sleep good choice, I'd rather exercise too.

Shop hang in there kiddo. Which days does your ds go to nursery?

shopafrolic · 08/11/2013 12:45

Thanks all. DS at nursery Mon, Tues and Thurs so I really have no reason to complain. I can hear the lurkers tutting.
We're back from swimming. DS had epic tantrum to end all tantrums when the class ended and spent the whole time in the changing room screaming "I want swimming" at the top of his lungs and on the 20 minute car journey home.
Mig DH is good at giving me time - probably so he gets his shooting season. I come to London every 6 weeks for hair and MU, and am back doing my Pilates class. The thing is that shooting season is very condensed - so it feels really tough.
Does anyone know what London Zoo is like on a Saturday? I need to do something tomorrow and my Whipsnade Pass works there I think?

shopafrolic · 08/11/2013 12:46

Marsha feel better soon lady and YY to sunnies

shopafrolic · 08/11/2013 12:47

And DS2 obvs Blush

shopafrolic · 08/11/2013 12:48

Am listening to new London Grammar album to chill out - beautiful

santamarianovella · 08/11/2013 12:51

Hello everyone!was really busy these last couple of days, some school stuff at Dss school, painting the living room, and dinner at a friends new house, on wednesday that I completely forgot about! I had a deer caught in headlights moment when DH texted me saying that he will be home in 20 min!,did my hair and makeup in record time,Thank god I knew what was gonna wear, Bruno skirt, and top that looks like this
, we finally went to hutong on Thursday ,and novice you are absolutely right,it was nothing special, the view was spectacular, and had an amazing evening, but the food lacked the wow factor,I did wear this, with the rock studs,
I feel I missed way a lot,but wanted to congrats, novice good news about your charity!
shop you are an excellent mother, toddlers are a nightmare sometimes, hope you enjoy your time at swimming class.

Thank you all for your feedback on the CE jeans,I didn't get them, got rag and bone skinnies instead, and they are amazing, very comfortable!

Will do a proper catchup now!

santamarianovella · 08/11/2013 13:17

marsha hope you and your ds feel better soon,

shop we once went on a sunday and it was perfectly fine,we were there very early though around opening time, but it got really busy around noon.

i like them linus but a bit too much for jcrew, non?

foxysocks · 08/11/2013 13:29

Hello, yes I'm ok but just back from a&e after DS fell off a chair this am. Called go who told me to take him straight in. Laceration to back of head but thank god, no concussion or stitches. Home now and he's had about four snacks plus a plate of pasta and playing with dinosaur happy land as I collapse on floor. Feels like my life is a non stop roller coaster ATM.

Yes queen that sat is brill. As long as we can watch strictly?! [wine ]

Shop this is the hardest job going. Give yourself a break my lovely. You are a fab mother and all DCs go through phases of being such hard work. Xx

Wearing green honeycomb knit, grey goldsigns and tan ash high tops. Grabbed le pliage on way out and stuffed it full of snacks, water, changes of clothes (for him) and tissues (for me). Our kitchen designer drove us there and collected us to come home, how amazing is that?! Above and beyond. People can be truly lovely can't they.

LinusDKD · 08/11/2013 13:35

Poor marsha and DS2! I hope you both feel better soon.

I know it's too early for Wine but it must be 6 o'clock somewhere in the world so have a Brew shop

santa yes quite £££ for J Crew. But I like the leopard print (have I mentioned I am fussy about animal print Wink ) and the shape.

I have gone through my wardrobe full of things I got too big to wear but didn't want to throw out and I can fit in most of the tops again.Smile

I will have to look for inspiration on how to wear fitted rollneck tees though because I seem to have a lot of them.

That and belts to be worn on the waist in all colours and widths. I used to wear a lot of dresses and shirt/cardi/skirt combos at work and liked to wear those belts with them. (DvF had a whole collection with that look about 6 or 7 years ago and I loved it)

And I also found a very old cable knit turtleneck jumper from my student days and whilst it fits, it does make me look a bit broadchested (and I'm only a B cup).

But maybe that's because it is a '90 cut jumper and a more fitted one would be nicer.

LinusDKD · 08/11/2013 13:38

Oh foxy you are really having a hard time! Glad to hear DS is ok though.

Pour yourself an extra glass of Wine tonight!

OneLittleLady · 08/11/2013 13:50
