I will try to get a photo of his arms for you Anni. They are lovely. He might object to anything else though (He is modest).

MarshaBrady · 31/10/2013 09:41

Haha at Anni yes to brighten our day.

Foxy lovely still with you in spirit, hang in there.

Shop good luck today.

MarshaBrady · 31/10/2013 09:43

Mig I love ballet, did it for many years, but when young. Did your dh have a favourite dance?

mignonnette · 31/10/2013 10:14

Hi Marsha. DH had a lovely duet choreographed to Pachabel. And another was a performance of Becketts 'Huis Clos'. The Pachabel used to make me cry.

He danced Corps de Ballet in 'The Nutcracker' for a fairly well known company too and enjoyed that. He toured that.

Most of his work was contemporary original pieces. Have pinned a couple of very old pics.

MarshaBrady · 31/10/2013 11:01

Sounds so beautiful Mig. I miss that airy feeling, like flying. Nothing better than an arabesque en pointe. Or a jeté. It's something I try to get back even now, that lovely feeling of freedom and control.

I love the photos.

MarshaBrady · 31/10/2013 11:04

There's some gorgeous Raoul stuff you know where.

mignonnette · 31/10/2013 11:18

You should go back to class Marsha. So many people are and it protects the core, the back and maintains posture. DH party trick is a series of Batteries (triggered by consumption of whisky) as despite it being a basic move, a lot of people have their minds blown by rapid feet beats!

I'll have a look at the Raoul. Have never bought from the range for no reason other than not coming across it IRL.

MarshaBrady · 31/10/2013 11:22

It's been ages. I'd have to protect that delicious nostalgia from reality of today! iyswim.

You'd look good in Raoul.

mignonnette · 31/10/2013 11:26

You'd soon remember it Marsha and the grace tends to remain. I'm sure you still retain he good posture from youth ballet.

It has an amazing effect on self esteem. It is lovely to see in friends who take it up.

mignonnette · 31/10/2013 11:29

I like and am tempted by this as has that 'off' colour combination that appeals to me. I like this too.

MarshaBrady · 31/10/2013 11:31

Yes might check it out.

I love both. Argh I love Raoul and owe the nursery another great whopping cheque, darn!

I love the metallic jumper.

mignonnette · 31/10/2013 11:33

There is a good book of exercises and linked moves by the New York City Ballet that we both use. Darcy Bussell did a good DVD too.

DH has to do barre and floor to keep his muscles long as doing building and construction since leaving nursing (and prof dancing) can bulk muscles up too much.

MarshaBrady · 31/10/2013 11:36

I bet. He could lift you round the living room Mig.

mignonnette · 31/10/2013 11:40

He is very strong Wink. However a lot of it is down to how the other person uses gravity and their moves their body mass (as you know having danced). He has danced with partners who are less skilled at lifts and it can cause injury. Some people make it look like thistledown blowing and others are like sacks of spuds despite having tiny little body masses.

I haven't enquired as to what category i fall into Smile

MarshaBrady · 31/10/2013 11:42

Yes true. I didn't dance with a partner. Perhaps people did later, I stopped when I went to boarding school and couldn't practise an hour a night. You have to work really hard at it as you know. My ability just went down hill and I felt like jelly.

MarshaBrady · 31/10/2013 11:45

And on fashion, I think you should get those lovely Raoul things! They are so nice.

pseudonymity · 31/10/2013 11:47

Hi folks, popping in again. Excited by talk of ballet! New York City Ballet do a fab couple of Workout DVDs, they are quite old now but still fab. Raoul is great quality.

mignonnette · 31/10/2013 12:08

Yes I agree.

Have ordered the blouse ^just to look. Good call Marsha.

Maybe start w/ a few exercises and see how you go?

shopafrolic · 31/10/2013 13:08

Waves to all. Am in newly ironed Current Elliot skinnies, Warehouse grey quilted sweat. DULL.
All ok here, been to the zoo this morning to burn off energy - fingers crossed DS naps but I doubt it.
Love the ballet chat and pics.
Birthday fun approaches - dinner out with a girlfriend tomorrow night, family lunch at a gastropubby place on Sunday, champagne breakfast with friend on Monday (the actual day) and dinner with DH that night. What to wear……?

MarshaBrady · 31/10/2013 18:04
