Foxy sounds good serious. I remember having a martini with friend at the rainbow room (very high up bar) in NYC whilst on serious pain relief. It was snowing and I was floating. Good times.

AmberNectarine · 18/10/2013 13:00

I have had to stop taking the tramadol as its making me feel worse than the meningitis headaches! Hopefully it won't make you feel really sick like me foxy.

QueenCadbury · 18/10/2013 13:07

Hi ladies, I've been AWOL this week as v busy but also v up and down. Hormones are all over the place. I've had a about a week without bleeding (after over 2 weeks) and now seem to have started again. A hysterectomy is sounding seriously tempting. Because I've had such low moments I haven't felt I've had much to contribute as I've lost my fashion mojo Shock. It's been an effort this week to make myself dress normally and not comfort dress in sweatpants! Yet physically I'm in the best shape of my life with the PT sessions although when I lose weight and firm up those stomach muscles it makes the crepey skin on my tummy look much worse.

Hopefully normal service will resume soon Smile. Only 4 days left of term next week and I often get end of term-itis and get tired and ready for a holiday. Hope the hormones settle-I've got eurodisney and the party to look forward to!

So no style news from me. I've been vaguely following the thread...
shop I think your hair short suits you.
foxy hope the hard drugs make you feel better. Do you have some help over half term?
marsha hope you make the decision about boots soon. If the papers are to be believed then now is expected in November. Hard to believe when it so warm still (20 degrees here yesterday).
dry nice halter neck. I think I'd quite like a grey/silver one. I considered the blue but am not convinced it's the right shade for me.

I'm off out tonight so need to think about what to wear. I'm hoping dd may nap so that I can paint my nails!

libertychick · 18/10/2013 13:15

Hope you start to feel better soon Foxy - those drugs are heavy duty!

My week has been intense Marsha - have 2 meetings this pm that will be tough...but then it's home at 4.30pm with a bottle of vino, DH is going to rugby so it's just me and DD and once I get her to bed I have the couch to myself for the evening - a rare treat! Good plans made for the weekend with lovely friends so lots to look forward too once I grit my teeth and get the next few hours over.

libertychick · 18/10/2013 13:16

We're synching again QueenC - hope you start to feel better soon too!

QueenCadbury · 18/10/2013 13:48

Nails aren't going to get painted. I can hear dd from her cot saying "mummy, look at my bum bum" Grin. That must mean she's got her nappy off! I put her down an hour ago. She's not going to sleep is she Hmm?

Annianni · 18/10/2013 13:54

Thanks Dry, that's great advice for dsd.
What about converse, yes or no?

mignonette · 18/10/2013 14:00

Queen

Flowers for you my dear and sorry that your hormones are being so damn beastly to you. (I sound like Nancy bloody Mitford-beastly???) Look out for Vogue's new contributing editor- Kate Moss! I know you are a fellow fan.

Foxy Glad you finally have some Diaz to unlock those spasms. It works better than just pain relief. No sharp knives ,heavy machinery or credit cards Grin.

Am home Saturday morning then babysitting for a friends six month old the evening. Haven't bought anything really whilst away-just reading and wandering about and food.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 18/10/2013 14:11

Slowly returning to the land of the living. I feel so out of touch with you all although it's given my finances a chance to recover.

Mouth still in bits despite surviving on antibiotics and Nurofen. Not even enjoying any type of food at the moment, so permanently hungry and even grumpier than usual.

Dry I owe you a humungous bunch of Flowers for the satin trews from Farfetch. They could not be more perfect. I've had them a week, but only got in the mood to try them on last night with the damn sexy tux jacket. Veered away from the idea of my olive silk pussy bow blouse underneath so now floundering trying to figure out what to wear with it. Any ideas? It is very low cut. I mentioned to DH last night that it really needs a soaring pair of black Loubs - he just raised an eyebrow.

LinusDKD · 18/10/2013 14:54

Afternoon!

foxy I hope this time the medication will work and give you some relief.

queenc poor you! Hormones suck! They can really mess you up.

mig I love the word beastly and other oldfashioned English words. I think I read too many Agatha Christie novels in my teens but I love expressions like 'poppycock' 'she/he will just have to lump it' 'frightfully' etc.

I have just come back from town and now have lovely swishy hair!

I just hope it will look as nice when I have not styled it but I am loving the cut and I loved the salon so I might have, finally, found my hairdresser after having lived here for nearly five years.

Oh, and I have fallen in love. With a coat. Which I don't need. And is too expensive. But looks like it was made for me. Sad

I can't link as it is a second hand Brunello Cuccinelli coat that I saw in a dress agency. It is £450 (for a second hand coat Shock )so I walked away but I have been thinking about it all the way home.

I also went into Zara to see some of the things I linked last night IRL and I was soo dissapointed to find that that gorgeous long green dress was in a very washed out green compared to the stunning green in the picture online. Angry I HATE it when colours are not correct online.

Drywhiteplease · 18/10/2013 16:16

Grumpy we need a pic of you in the outfit.....something wispy, silky and lacy is what I'd go for, seriously sexy to contrast with the masculine tailoring. But I'm a bit girly. So glad the trousers are a hit.
Anni I think if they were smart converse not filthy like my dcs' then perhaps, but the younger women tend to wear ballet flats or ankle boots.
QueenC sorry to hear you've been unwell. What you up to tonight? Outfit?

So, first night out tonight;
Nails, No7 Celestial....a dark pewter
Lips envoutante lipstick images nice and dark
newish top
fav trouser
Black stiletto courts, or these but they look a bit brash! will see how I feel.
Will be a sensible night in a restaurant. Tomorrow will be more "beautiful people, bling and booze" Grin

shopafrolic · 18/10/2013 16:19

QueenC here was me thinking we had killed you off last weekend - sorry to hear things aren't fixed
Grumpy that dental work sounds like the pits
Linus pic of your hair you know where?
Dry have fun tonight
Waves to Mig

In other random news - do any of you love really good quality tea? Darjeeling / Earl Grey and the like? I found tea pigs when I did my inspired food shop this week and I am in love. Every afternoon when DS naps it's my little treat. So delicious.......

OP posts:
RubyLovesShopping · 18/10/2013 16:30

Shop Assam is my fave tea.
I blame one of you on here for the fact I have spent the afternoon researching dubarry boots and alternatives. Have pinned the 3 current contenders. The dilemma is that they're not v smart. But neither is my lifestyle.

MarshaBrady · 18/10/2013 16:31

I laughed at the comments on my sensible boots. Not so sensible after all Grin

So Gap or Uggs (on sale) I think.

RubyLovesShopping · 18/10/2013 16:37

Oh and I have a yearning for a tartan cashmere scarf. Will spend the evening happily browsing.

MarshaBrady · 18/10/2013 16:41

I'd love a tartan cashmere scarf Ruby. Look forward to links!

shopafrolic · 18/10/2013 16:42

yes but you'll feel like Lady Muck when you wear them Ruby Hmm

OP posts:
RubyLovesShopping · 18/10/2013 16:43

What colour tartan Marsha? Am thinking of maybe green or maybe red.
New coat is lovely, have reordered smaller size due on Monday.

AmberNectarine · 18/10/2013 16:47

I've done extensive research into a tartan cashmere scarf ruby - eBay or Edinburgh woollen mill are your best bet.

foxysocks · 18/10/2013 16:47

Me too on tartan scarf. I have one pinned, not cashmere but I love it. waiting for a code before I order.

DH cleaning, am in bed with iPad and kindle. Didn't buy that bag. Will wait for the perfect one to show up.

RubyLovesShopping · 18/10/2013 16:55

Amber thank you! Was just looking at the Edinburgh woollen mill ones they're £30! Need to have a better look at colours on laptop later as can't tell from my phone.

MarshaBrady · 18/10/2013 16:56

Not sure yet Ruby will see what you get first Grin. Good news on the coat, sounds nice.

Linus that is a lot for second hand. There's a posh charity swap shop near me (that I have £60 to spend in, I got it when trying to earn enough for Celine vintage cough jacket priced at £160 but didn't get enough credit and now it's gone and there isn't anything else I like that much, I go in often to check) . And anyway there is a Jaeger coat in there for £750 or something. Why would you?! If it is second hand that is. Which I presume it is.

Mig sounds perfect to me.

Dry have fun, So tomorrow is just like our mus then? Grin

Grumpy hope you feel better soon. Satin trousers sound perfect. High Louboutin too, fab. Yes go with something feminine as Dry suggests.

QueenC I know, I saw an article, it's launched me into early action. Hope you are back on top form soon.

Liberty you must be nearly done with stressful work afternoon. A nice evening to look forward to, hope it all went ok.

Will check out your pin Foxy, but which bag? How did I miss that!?

Shop that tea looks nice.

I had a Johnsons scarf once, was quite nice.

MarshaBrady · 18/10/2013 16:57

Amber how's the bag decision? You must be close!

MarshaBrady · 18/10/2013 17:01

Durbarry boots are not cheap so if you wear them you are allowed to feel a million dollars, even if they are also highly useful. So wear with pride!

RubyLovesShopping · 18/10/2013 17:01

Probably this one
