A happy and safe place to talk fashion (from high end to high street), beauty and the arts. All welcome to bring a positive state of mind, lots of links and an eye for detail.

Santa you were two minutes walk from my house not that you would have wanted to be here today Smile

LinusDKD · 22/09/2013 19:33

sleep Wine Wine Wine

Well done Mr. dry and happy DS is ok.

mig If you love that bag, I say go for it. I know the heart print shirts etc have been worn by every wannabe in town, but that will be old news in a couple of months time.

carrie I love the Cuckmere but I have not been able to try it on IRL.

novice safe flight and that letter you got from the school is so lovely!

I might have found my first ever item of clothing in animal print:

equipment

MrsRadicchio · 22/09/2013 19:58

Oh Sleep I second the Wine recommendation. And adopting Dry's blotus position once they are in bed...I have been doing that one a lot, comatose on the couch!

On another note, had a quick look for leather skirts for you - remembered muu baa had some nice ones but only found this and this (Think they may be the same skirt actually).

Linus I think Amber linked that shirt a while ago, it was on sale at the dressing room. V nice.

shopafrolic · 22/09/2013 20:00

Wasn't that the shirt that I kept linking to in the Dessing Room sale that went down to £90 Linus
Sleep it must be in the air musn't it? DS has been truly horrific today, and I only have the one child so kudos to you! (And hugs and wine) Your bag that you Pinned is gorgeous but not sure about how to work it for casual......
Dry Anna Wintour married to Bear Grylls? :)

LinusDKD · 22/09/2013 20:05

MrsR and shop I just compared the shirts and they are slightly different. The one I linked doesn't have a collar and is a lighter colour than the one at the Dressing Room.

Another item that can go on my A/W wishlist and that I can't buy until I've bought my winter coat

shopafrolic · 22/09/2013 20:08

Phew! That's ok Linus it's a fabulous shirt - I'd hate for you to have missed a bargain! The one I tried was gorgeous on but yes, definitely had a collar.

Sleepwhenidie · 22/09/2013 20:09

Argh, it gets worse, now DH is Hmm with me because I let DD call him and of course it was 5mins of wailing 'I miss you Daddy, I want you to come home nowww!'. I can understand that upsets him but still think I'd trade places (tho he was buying me shoes in JCrew at the time - oops Blush).

Thanks for the skirt links MrsR will check them out once peace is restored.

shopafrolic · 22/09/2013 20:13

Sleep this won't be helpful but I hope it makes you chuckle! :)
Got a link for the shoes? Xxxxxxxxxxx

santamarianovella · 22/09/2013 20:20

sleep hope your evening is much better, have Wine, and enjoy downtown, kids always do these things!

i would've loved to see you!,and my day was not that great too,the apple store was a last minute thing ,bad idea very crowded, and the dcs were getting bored,dd was touching everything and i couldnt keep her under control almost twisted my ankle,,so decided to let dh browse in peace, and went to primrose hill ,he met us 40 min later empty handed and with a headache. we walked around for a while ,lovely area!

liberty glad you enjoyed your weekend, bath is lovely ,and i made the mashed potatoes in muffin tins recipe you pinned,it was a success!

linus i love this shirt and im kicking my self for not buying it wnen shop linked it a while back!

mrsR Grin, dry blotus is the next big thing! i tell you!

LinusDKD · 22/09/2013 20:42

Poor sleep! I've had times like that with DC (well, with DS really) when DH is away and it sucks big time!

santa it's not the same shirt that shop linked so you can still buy it.

QueenCadbury · 22/09/2013 20:52

Hi ladies, hope you're all ok. Sounds like lots of upset and tears so Wine, chocolate and hugs to you all.

We've had a good day. master cadbury is a very happy boy with the talking minion and took him for lunch and is now sleeping with him. He tries to be a big boy into fighting etc but deep down he's a cutie.

mig I like the bag and although i've sen Harry and alexa in the shirts I wouldn't associate it at all with them.

carrie74 · 22/09/2013 21:03

Aw thanks all. I'd like to say they're all angelic ally asleep in Their beds now, but eldest (8: insomniac) is still up with us, but being nice. Youngest is 6 and gorgeous, but on the spectrum, and his lack of communication and understanding of others' emotions is sometimes v draining combined with a whinge.

liberty glad you had a lovely weekend. Bath is my favourite place in England, I'm so pleased we're only half an hour away.

sleep I'm hearing you sista [solidarity closed fist punch]. Is DH home soon? Solo parenting is HAAARD.

Linus I've not tried it IRL either [gulp], hence order through Amazon for safer return if necessary. It's on its way...

I'm loving the idea of a leather pencil skirt this season too, but need to assess other requirements and see how the budget's looking. Also need to stay my wish list for the US Grin. Victoria's Secret cotton pants top of the list: a hit from last Easter. With any luck we will also be 20 mins from one of the biggest outlet malls in Florida. Last year did exceptionally well in DKNY....

RubyLovesShopping · 22/09/2013 21:07

Hello Mnv ladies am back on coat hunting yet again! If I was looking at buying one from burberry which would you recommend: a navy thigh length trench or a wool/cashmere peacoat? It will be for autumn and spring and will get a lot of use. Which would be more durable and date less over a period of 5-10 years? Which other brands would you suggest? Marsha I like the look of the sessun coat v much but would be far too long on me.

bloomingheather · 22/09/2013 21:14

santa I always get a headache when I visit the Apple Store too. Everything is so bright and white - I went once when I was recovering from the flu and the visit almost caused a relapse Wink. The last time we visited, DP set the alarms off because he was absent-mindedly fiddling with the cable on one of the laptops (so I empathise with visiting with out of control charges Blush.
I like that shirt Linus. I tried this one on a few weeks ago and liked it here

RubyLovesShopping · 22/09/2013 21:26

Should have done links!
this

RubyLovesShopping · 22/09/2013 21:28

or this?

Drywhiteplease · 22/09/2013 21:32

MrsR Grin so glad my yoga moves are becoming popular! Carrie and Sleep Cake Wine

Grin as predicted DH has flaked out on the sofa just in time for Downton!!!

Shop bear grills....ooooh I wish Smile

Drywhiteplease · 22/09/2013 21:33

The snoring's disturbing my viewing!!!!!!

Drywhiteplease · 22/09/2013 21:35

Blooming like both....you need both obviously! I'd go for the pea coat ESP as you like in a chilly place.

bloomingheather · 22/09/2013 21:39

I think it was Ruby who linked the peacoat Dry - I'll have it though Grin Watching Downton too.

RubyLovesShopping · 22/09/2013 21:45

It was me and I do live in a chilly place too! But I have a north face down coat for walks to school and rugby pitches. Plus it is seriously unstylish. No chance at all of having both but can certainly manage one due to big birthday imminent plus dh bonus equally imminent. Happy to consider other brands just need guidance!

Sleepwhenidie · 22/09/2013 21:49

I am in bed, post Wine and a bowl of cornflakes for dinner don't mention I might be selling myself as a nutritionist soon. Definitely adopting the blotus.

these are the shoes DH was buying me....

Bear Grylls...really Dry ? Confused, I can't say I haven't considered it but getting anywhere near involved with all the bug eating and camping living on some remote island off grid near Scotland makes me ....I don't think NAP would deliver up there would they? Grin.

Glad DS is ok Dry

Ruby both your coat options sound lovely and like great investments...Confused. Could you do one this year and one next? Get the one you feel best in first!

Drywhiteplease · 22/09/2013 22:01

Sleep fab-u-lous shoes .....I love them!

santamarianovella · 22/09/2013 22:04

ruby the first one looks beautiful, but you mentioned living in a chilly place, dont see both of them as very warm, but they are really gorgeous .

dry bear creeps me out,
