A happy and safe place to talk fashion (from high end to high street), beauty and the arts. All welcome to bring a positive state of mind, lots of links and an eye for detail.

This is the Theyskens' Theory pale sweater from the other day. I really love it, it's very soft.

MarshaBrady · 21/09/2013 19:31

QueenC like your style.

Mig good linking as per usual!

LinusDKD · 21/09/2013 19:50

Lovely peacoat marsha! And that sweater is a real classic and very versatile.

I think it was me who linked the S. McCartney coat and the colour is indeed amazing. I am super fussy when it comes to orange, but that is just the perfect orange. Did you try it on? ;-)

I have so many things I want to buy for A/W but I am still waiting for my down coat. Only then can I start to think about the rest. Sad

My A/W wishlist on pin is getting fuller and fuller and I have hardly bought a thing.

But last night DH asked what my pin name was so 'he could have a look'. So I hope that he gets some inspiration for my birthday in November and/or Christmas. Wink

I have decided that I won't buy a leather pencil skirt this year. I have seen some lovely ones online but I think I really have to see them IRL and try them on. And with a toddler and a baby a leather skirt is maybe not the most prudent choice.

OneLittleLady · 21/09/2013 19:57

linus DP asked me the same thing about pinterest! There's plenty on mine to take inspiration from Grin

MarshaBrady · 21/09/2013 19:59

Linus it was, sorry lovely! I didn't try it on Grin. Too dangerous. I saw it across the floor at Liberty and thought wow, that is incredible.

I love the peacoat but am now worried it's a tad long on me, and the collar is a tad roundish. Damn! How did I only see that when I got home. I'm going to sleep on it and compare with an old See by Chloe one I have. It has to be better than that one.

shopafrolic · 21/09/2013 20:02

LeFreak gorgeous skirt. As per others, YY to navy and black. Old school rules no longer apply
Mig love your description of Farringdon at night, and lobster - yum
Sleep how are you holding up? Hopefully everyone is in bed, and you can eat whatever you love but DH doesn't, drink lots and watch crap TV (is that just me?)
Novice glad the parcel arrived. It makes me smile that someone will soon be wearing my old RL tees and Zara linen tops! Hope the argument is soon resolved, it sounded as though you had a lot on this weekend and the pressure had been building. Sending Wine and Cake
Gorgeous skirt Dry it my God ££££££
Linus rubbish lack of pics from Zara but lovely sweatshirt
Marsha glad you're ok. Peacoat will look fabulous with 'those' boots
I'd like some very dark khaki or dark forest green slim leg trousers or skinnies. Wore my J Brand cargos today with my I&I khaki and neon striped sweater and it didn't feel right all day. Coated skinnies due Monday so will see what works.......
I need a chocolate brown super warm scarf too.
I've been on the Grey Goose Vodka since 6pm so apologies in advance this evening.

I love that peacoat, Marsha, and the detailing on the Theory sweater.

Hope you are happy campers again soon, Novice.

Not im great form here either, we have been way outbid on a house we wanted, DH has been working all day and is so busy I may have to cancel going to an exhibition I wanted to see tomorrow morning. My new C/E jeans arrived, highlight of the day!

Anyway - still want to buy a navy or black wool trench or pea coat, some new tops, J Brand grey 620 jeans and leopard print heels. Then will make a list for the sales.

Linus, leather is perfect with small kids - wipe clean!

shopafrolic · 21/09/2013 20:07

Decam sorry to hear about the house purchase. :(

OP posts:
foxysocks · 21/09/2013 20:09

gorgeous pea coat marsha, but def sleep on it if you are not sure

novice am so sorry you rowed. we are both under a lot of pressure too atm, it's no fun

love that skirt le freak

i have made barely a dent in the AW wishlist. i bought the F&B boots back in august, and the leopard flats and green honeycomb knit from the boden preview in july. that's it, I haven't shopped for an age. I don't really have a clear idea of where I want the money to go atm so am holding out.

LinusDKD · 21/09/2013 20:10

Mmmm vodka!

It reminds me of the days all we had in our freezer was a bottle of vodka and some bread.

Now we have a massive freezer full of frozen peas, fish fingers and leftovers.

LinusDKD · 21/09/2013 20:11

That sucks decam! Thanks

shopafrolic · 21/09/2013 20:12

Linus you've been in my fridge? Shock

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 21/09/2013 20:17

Oh no on the house Decam the market sounds crazy.

Ok have done a try on, it's definitely better than the old Chloe one so that's good. The Sessun one is nearly to the knee, I think I need to get used to that.

LinusDKD · 21/09/2013 20:23

shop Wink

shopafrolic · 21/09/2013 20:28

And your Cos dress Foxy?

OP posts:
OneLittleLady · 21/09/2013 20:32

Sorry to hear that about the house decam Thanks

I'm so desperately unstylish right now since everything is a struggle to get on when you can't lift your arm up. Making do with long sleeved tees for warmth and skirts that can just be pulled on and off with no buttons or zips. Given the amount of excess bone they removed, they've estimated I need at least 12 weeks to recover so no drum lessons until after new year at least Sad

LinusDKD · 21/09/2013 20:37

Poor one! I just hope your recovery goes quickly.

I have just made myself a vodka tonic in honour of shop!

I also found an ancient bottle of Red Eristoff vodka that must have been a remainder of my student days.

shopafrolic · 21/09/2013 20:38

I like these but why oh why did they put the branding on the zip?!?

OP posts:
shopafrolic · 21/09/2013 20:39

Sleepwhenidie · 21/09/2013 21:03

Oh Decam sorry about the house Sad. I do believe these things are meant to be though, I'm sure one day when you are in a new house you love you'll think it a good thing.

Dry that skirt is so beautiful! but at price Smile

Novice have you and DH made up yet? Don't let the row spoil the weekend.

Shop - 2dc's down, 1 bedtime to go Hmm. It takes a long time, 3 by yourself. I have no enthusiasm for preparing a meal. May just eat some yoghurt and climb into my nice clean sheets. Today was quite trying, took the DC's swimming, dd had a party and ds1 had a friend over for a bit. Need to muster some enthusiasm for something tomorrow - zoo perhaps...or science/Nat history museum....am quite a grumpy mum though Sad, no chance to exercise/get away for an hour definitely affects my mood.

shopafrolic · 21/09/2013 21:07

Sleep I'm alone tomorrow AM with DS while DH goes dog training / shooting / country bumpkining. Know what you mean about summoning enthusiasm

OP posts:
BrandyAlexander · 21/09/2013 21:21

Oh decam, I am so sorry about the house! And poor you One, that doesn't sound fun at all.

It's been a quiet afternoon at home. Long phone catch up with each of my sibs, I finally got round to telling all of them about the house as everyone has been in and out of the country. they weare all very sensitive about who finds out big news first in the familyGrin

Thank you all for the lovely messages. It's a little better with dh but not much. I saw red this morning because if I described my day yesterday you wouldn't actually believe me. I told dh he wasn't pulling his weight at home. He said he's under stress at work and saw red. As you can imagine the conversation didn't end well. Sad

On much much more cheerful news....I got this note just now from the headmaster of the school I am sponsoring: "Hi, this is to say thank you for sponsoring our school. We got the money you sent to us and used it as you directed. x for feeding for the month of September, x for the books, x for fuel and x is being used to provide the teaching aides as and when we need them. We were able to find 100 school bags that would be supplied at x each and the 100 pairs of shoes for x per each pair. We have taken delivery of the school uniforms and the rest of the exercise books, pens and pencils. We have given out some of the exercise books for use by the pupils we have also given out some of the pens and pencils for use. I will scan the receipts and mail them to you on tuesday. Thank you and may God bless you." (I have replaced the amounts and currency with x by the way!). That has really warmed the heart.Smile

Right, dd finally asleep, off to look at 'new in' on the Selfridges websiteGrin

BrandyAlexander · 21/09/2013 21:26

Oh poor you Sleep. I have been thinking of you as I was waiting for dd to sleep. Thanks

I am actually flying out again tomorrow so I guess never go to bed on a row replaced by don't go 5000 miles away from home after a row. Dh hates talking about these things though and would rather watch tv and pretend it didn't happen.

MrsSheepiness · 21/09/2013 21:32

Evening all, I am just de-lurking long enough to say I hope it's ok but I have started following lots of you on pinterest, I would love to be an active member of the thread but I can't keep up but love looking at your links and boards. My wardrobe has never looked in better shape!

OneLittleLady · 21/09/2013 21:49

Mrssheepiness don't worry about keeping up, I sometimes just dip in and out of the thread! We don't bite, honestly Smile
