Just dropping in to say I've just ordered this pencil skirt
Now I need to find a plain cheap wool black jumper.
Quick navy/ black question- should you? Can you? Do you? My mum says wearing these 2 colours together looks like a bruise ..Confused

I love navy and black LeFreak. I think they look very striking together, especially midnight blue w/ black.

Hi everyone, I just got in from a night in the pub with a few girlfriends, had a lovely catch up with them all and now in bed flicking through vol 22 Smile

DH is now in NY so I have 4 days of DC time to look forward to Hmm - DH and I are both less than thrilled with the situation, we were hoping to go to NY together and had childcare lined up but the work situation is a little sensitive so I couldn't be seen to be there with him and there's actually little point in him being there either except to show his face....Hmm, so a very unsatisfactory weekend for both of us (except he gets to sleep and shop and I get to, umm, entertain 3 DC's Hmm Confused?

Marsha I got this skirt and these jeans from the Outnet, loved them last night but today not quite so sure, think I may be getting over enthusiastic due to the bargain factor and I want the leather skirt in particular to be exactly the right one, whatever the price, I've looked at loads, from Zara (£80), through DVF and Allsaints to Zadig at £400 and none are perfect. With the jeans, I'm not sure I quite have the legs to pull off the side pockets and zips, I like them but suspect maybe clean lines are more flattering on me?

I love Rachel Allen's food! Foxy I am very Envy of you having kids who eat chick peas etc, do not get me started on picky...whilst mine are a long way off devouring curries they aren't actually terrible but they all have different preferences/dislikes so pleasing all of them at the same time is impossible.

Liberty have a wonderful anniversary weekend! Sounds lovely Smile

Ahhh I have had those zipped j brands in my wish list for ages. I love them. Skirt also nice but I can definitely understand wanting perfection for the price.

Mine are def less fussy than most of their friends. There is stuff they genuinely do not like, of course, but with some things I just keep serving them up and eventually they try it and like it.

Anyone fancy this skirt? Hmm
Sleep weekends as solo parent are tough......DVD, wine for you and chocolate and Pringles for the dcs must feature at some point.
LeFreak nice skirt! I'm still on a floral pencil skirt hunt.

Oh Santa, sorry forgot to answer you. We have chosen the aga S series. it is duel fuel with six hobs (gas) and four ovens (one grill, one slow cooker, one fan and one standard electric). It comes with a griddle plate and wok ring too. In black. Hurrah! Our kitchen dude got a really great trade discount too.

Shame you couldn't go to NY, Sleep. At least the weather will be good this weekend so you can head out.

Gorgeous skirt LeFreak and I love navy and black together.

Hope you are having a lovely time, Liberty. I thought Bath was beautiful.

Lovely skirt lefreak! I love navy and black combined together, but it all depends on the navy and on the black.

A proper black black might look too harsh against the navy but there are plenty of blueish blacks that look stunning with navy.

sleep such a shame you couldn't go to NY! Do you think DH might try and soften the blow with a little NY prezzie?

dry how about that floral Zara skirt I pinned a while ago? The print is stunning and it has a nice bit of stretch in it, but on me it just didn't sit right.

foxy very Envy about your Aga! Especially the fact you can cook with gas! Unfortunately in our area it's all electric cookers but I love cooking with gas.

I missed that skirt LeFreak and it is lush. Just the kind of graphic I go for.

Dry That would kill me. I will have to take DD when we next go as the thought of her little sad face at the thought of my being there without her is more than my conscience will allow.

Maybe DH will come home clutching a large present?

Had lovely lobster in Farringdon last night then lovely walk home looking at the hipsters. It is like an urban safari.

Hello. Had a lovely night last night catching up with dh. He was telling me he's getting his annual incremental pay rise so I told him therefore I must be due a pay rise too Grin.

lefreak I love navy and black together. There's lots of pins somewhere on one of my boards but I often wear black trousers with a navy top.

Got loads to do today-tea to organise for ds and his friends, presents to wrap, party bags to sort out etc etc. Will catch up properly later.

Well Dniece and Dnephew loved the cupcakes we spent SIX hours baking and decorating for them so that's all good. Have dug out my deep green Warehouse cocoon cardigan out of the wardrobe as it's so warm and am really snug now

dry that last floral Zara skirt you linked was the one I tried on a couple of weeks ago. Do you want me to have a look of they still have it next week? I can always send it to you if you like.

They also have this one online but maybe the print is a bit too wallpaper like?

And they still have this one in a M and L online.

novice I hope you and DH kiss and make-up soon. Maybe put on those killer heels tonight? ;-)

santa I won't be sharing my kitchen on MNV because we only bought the house last year and whilst the kitchen will do for another few years, it really isn't my dream kitchen.

DH took the children out for a couple of hours this afternoon so I made Chilli con Carne (had it for dinner tonight, yum) and pumpkin soup.

I have loads of pumpkin left (you can buy them in a field close to our house and I chose the biggest one, of course) so I might try a different pumpkin soup recipe tomorrow.

I really like this sweatshirt even though I usually don't look good in them.

They say it's reversible but then they don't show the other side. Hmm

Sleep what a shame about NYC. I'd be hmm about that too. I'm sure you look fab in those jeans, but maybe would be better without the pockets.

I love the skirt, but if it's not absolutely perfect send back. Especially if you are on the look out for the one no matter what.

Liberty I hope you're having a lovely weekend.

LeFreak love navy and black, that skirt is great.

Foxy congrats on the new aga!

Novice ah you poor thing, hope things are ok,

Santa hope the football is over. I think you linked the Stella orange coat on an older thread. I saw it today, the colour is amazing.

Love those skirts Dry and wow at the Dolce.

Linus I really like the light skirt and that sweater.

Shop thanks for the pm lovely. I'm ok that they're gone. I got a bit sad that I listened to all the build up - can't wait to see the dc etc, but it was a bit of a damp squib and our day wasn't great. Not much interaction, I'm not asking the earth just slightly above supermarket level (you know the general chat you get from strangers). Anyway, it was ridiculous to let it get to me at all.

Am ok now. Had a lovely day. Finally got my hair cut, bought loads of fresh flowers and realised the Marant Etoile coat is really a posh cardigan. Ie won't be that warm in the bracing cold, so bought the Sessun navy peacoat. Had a Liberty voucher.

So have decided what I'd like for rest of a/w is

  • Skirt. Saw a gorgeous Markus Lupfer brocade one, but none left in my size. So that or something else.

  • A jumper

  • Maybe some flats

What would everyone like to get still?
