A happy and safe place to talk fashion (from high end to high street), beauty and the arts. All welcome to bring a positive state of mind, lots of links and an eye for detail.

You'll have to drive over quickly Dry, we're putting it together in about 15 mins.

We will be getting some monstrously huge Pax wardrobes with sliding doors for our room, you can come and help with those if you want to? :o

Shop have you found any nice houses yet?

Annianni · 29/09/2013 09:21

Marsha :o

I did say yesterday that if I was 10 years younger, I'd think about doing it for a job.
I find it quite relaxing.

MarshaBrady · 29/09/2013 09:24

It is nice to do things as a job. I can see the appeal. I was terrible at all the other stuff however, they could only let me loose on the windows Grin

MarshaBrady · 29/09/2013 09:25

And that beer at the end of a hot day working in the sun, yep that was so good.

(I did it for three days.. not three months, but you know me, my job timescales are out of whack)

Drywhiteplease · 29/09/2013 10:18

PAX! How exciting, that's a challenge Anni ....but I'll only come if you let me line up all the screws in a very OCD way before I start.Grin

Right off t'gym.....gorgeous sunny autumnal day here. My job today is to empty my dresser boring before kitchen wall comes down tomorrow.

Some great menswear in Sunday times Style section, on a REAL man.... Love a man in a chunky knit I do......Smile dinner jacket, uniform, rugby kit

MarshaBrady · 29/09/2013 10:20

Dry if you see this, is the ST STyle a men's issue? I always feel so disappointed when you open it up and it's all dedicated to men!

Annianni · 29/09/2013 12:12

Dry :o

I had all the screws etc lined up on the window ledge.
They were in perfect lines

OneLittleLady · 29/09/2013 12:15

Working the tartan trend in a purple tartan skirt from AW 12. Still looks good and surprisingly, for a Primark skirt, it's got a higher wool content than a lot of more expensive stuff I've seen. Am wearing it with a purple cotton vest, black opaques and a black cardigan.

Decameron · 29/09/2013 12:41

MrsSheep, I sent you the code.

Lovely compliments, QueenC and Novice.

You are very organised, One. I don't buy presents for my brothers any more, just my nieces and nephew.

Marsha, if you still want a Burberry coat, they are very helpful in the Knightsbridge store and had everything I wanted to see in stock, I went there yesterday. Didn't love the black coat that I have wanted for a while when I saw it IRL, I prefer the pea coats.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 29/09/2013 14:11

Just had a little catch up - some great links and fun stuff, as usual.

I'm with those of you who have started early for Christmas. MIL is coming over from Ireland in the car in the next few weeks, so I like to have all the Irish presents bought so she can take them back for me. I've actually bought very little for the Irish family so far, but I do have a couple of lovely sweaters and leggings from Abercrombie Kids for DD2 and a great navy fine cashmere polo neck for DH - I like to get things as I see them. Was disappointed as I bought my 2yo Niece a lovely dress from Cos with leather patch pockets, but when it arrived it was a 4-6yo dress inside 2-4yo packaging and now I can't see it on the website, so think it must have sold out Sad.

On another subject, has anyone seen the Miranda Kerr/Mango feature in You Mag? on P21 is a great sweater, but it's not on the website, not even in the 'coming soon' section. Does anyone know anything that can help me get my grubby mitts on it?

Drywhiteplease · 29/09/2013 17:43

Grumpy that is indeed a gorgeous sweater.....v tempting indeed. It really drives me nuts when magazines feature something I love which isn't in stock yet. I love that untucked shirt under sweater look, do it a lot.
Marsha that explains why I got to the end and felt a bit deflated despite nice male model looking all cuddly in his sweater Grin
Anni good girl! I have forbidden DH to touch any Ikea packages he's de estates about this because he RIPS Shock yes rips the screw bags open! screws etc everywhere and the usually builds things backwards without reading the instructions . He them has a fit "I hate Ikea crap!" Grin. I'm in charge and v bossy when building flat pack with helpers DCs

Well must be something about Sainsburys....there I was working my white Baxters, Steve Madden suede stone heeled ankle boots, Stone v neck swing merino sweater from White Co worn over a white long sleeved r/n tee with statement necklace and Nancy, when I bumped into gym manager as I was choosing a large cucumber;
Him "Hello"
Moi "Oh hi, you look different with your clothes on Shock xxx killed me in kettle bells this morning! she's evil"
Him " well it's working, you're looking v well "........... Blush
Got even more tongue tied when he muttered something about my glutes!!!! Shock I let go of large cucumber. Grin

shopafrolic · 29/09/2013 17:59

Stamps feet. I want to get picked up in Sainsbury's.
Hi all. Cooked awesome roast (thanks Aga) for DM and DF. Lots of house talk. They think we're mad.... Ours should be on the market by next week. Yikes.
Looking Sunday slobby wearing AV peacock blue tee and Paige boyfriends. Loved the menswear stuff in Style for a change but only because of the fit male models.

thanks linus, and being the designated driver sucks!

dec which pea coat? i too loved the black trench style one.

ani please pin some photos on the board, would love to see the final result,
i used to feel sorry for the workers that used to do the paint on some projects, as it can take forever to reach the exact shade we are after, and used to apologize all the time, they would always be very polite and say that they find it very relaxing, and prefer it to the cleaning up!

novice thats a very nice thing to hear, sure he is right.

dry you do have a great physique!

Drywhiteplease · 29/09/2013 18:33

Um thanks Santa I'm good at hiding the bad bits
Shop I love a good roast ....sounds like you're moving forward with the house, onwards and upwards !

LinusDKD · 29/09/2013 19:17

"Choosing a large cucumber" arf! You should write romancd novels dry!

You would get on with DH, he is very meticulous when assembling flatpacks and loves lining up all the screws etc.

Used to love reading the STimes supplements when we still lived in London but I was always dissapointed when it was all about men.

I love a cold beer on a hot day as well marsha!

one I hope you responded to that rude man "and you dress exactly like the idiot you are" Angry

Will try and catch-up now!

santamarianovella · 29/09/2013 19:21

I was being honest dry!

Decameron · 29/09/2013 19:23

You are so funny, Dry!

This one, Santa.

LinusDKD · 29/09/2013 19:27

sleep pinkpeonies is wearing your J Crew heels (different colour though)

shop This must be such a stressful time for you but you will find a house that will be so much better for you and your family.

MarshaBrady · 29/09/2013 19:29

You make me laugh Dry Grin

Love that Decam, it's gorgeous. Thanks for heads up on Knightsbridge store. I am around that way next week to visit a friend, but not sure I'll get a coat. Could just check it out, to satisfy the curiosity.

Grumpy no idea, it's kind of annoying when they do that and you can't find it.

Linus it was about half men-filled today, not too bad.

QueenCadbury · 29/09/2013 19:47

Hello. All this time on Mnv is well spent if so many of us are getting noticed Grin.

grumpyyou could try emailing mango and asking when it'll be in stock? I agree it's really annoying when they feature things that aren't yet out. I also hate style when it focuses on menswear but luckily we didn't buy it this weekend.

Went shopping yesterday as had to take a belt back to JL. I'd only bought it within the last month and it was a metallic leather fossil belt but had totally scratched around the buckle hole. I didn't have the receipt anymore but they gave me vouchers instead as I decided that I didn't want to replace it. I also returned the gap navy cords. Despite trying them on most days, I actually hadn't worn them as although they fitted really well they just didn't seem to go with my tops/jumpers. So now I'm feeling virtuous Grin although dh doesn't yet know about the clarks order. I nipped into clarks to see if they had the navy ones in store (thy didn't) but I tried these on which I really liked, although I'd have to chop the tassels off. I also bought this nail polish (with boots points so doesn't count!). Haven't tried Barry m before so no idea whether it's any good. Also bought the Vaseline paint the town red and am really disappointed. I'm so used to actual colour on my lips now that this is too pale for me. I've stuck my finger in it once but if anyone wants it pm me and I'll send it on.

LinusDKD · 29/09/2013 19:56

for mig

MrsRadicchio · 29/09/2013 20:12

Just dropping by to say to Amber that this seems to be a breton with white not cream:

petit bateau

Also Atterley Road has 25% off at the moment with PAYDAY25 - just noticed it does not include whistles, gah! Was hoping to get this skirt

MrsRadicchio · 29/09/2013 20:14

Ooh, another one

libertychick · 29/09/2013 20:23

sorry, I've been absent - busy with work and v v tired so trying to go to bed early instead of MN'ing half the night.

It really annoys me too when the ST style do men (really, does anyone male or female like it???) but now that Marsha has said it's 50/50 I'll take a look.

Anni I love the plum Gap sweater - I have it in grey and have been living in it - so comfy and flattering, I think I'll get the plum too.

Shop wow - big news re moving...hope you find something great.

Novice, Dry and QueenC well done on the compliments chat up lines can't remember when someone last flirted with me cue the violins Grin

Decam Shock at the failure to love the Burberry - what was wrong with it???? The peacoat is gorgeous though - will you get it?

Big air kisses to everyone else Grin

QueenCadbury · 29/09/2013 20:33

I'll need lots of sympathy tomorrow as I'm having root canal treatment. I know it's nothing compared to what some of you have gone through having bits of bones shaved off but quite frankly I would rather stick pins in my eyes than undergo any dental work!
