A happy and safe place to talk fashion (from high end to high street), beauty and the arts. All welcome to bring a positive state of mind, lots of links and an eye for detail.

Meant to say the outfit sounds good!

And thanks to SantaSmile

QueenCadbury · 28/09/2013 18:53

Busy weekend as family here but just wanted to say that a man at the supermarket today said I looked like this advert which was on the back on his newspaper. Then he told me that actually I look better! I know he didn't mean it but I was chuffed anyway Grin

OneLittleLady · 28/09/2013 18:54

Oooh queenc I wish someone would tell ME I looked like old Gwynnie!

BrandyAlexander · 28/09/2013 18:59

That's still a fab compliment QueenCGrin

OneLittleLady · 28/09/2013 18:59

I've found it! The perfect christmas present I mentioned a while back! Yes, I have found an original, 12" vinyl single, in perfect condition, of the song that was playing when DP and I met. It has been ordered and should arrive next week! Grin

BrandyAlexander · 28/09/2013 19:02

Oh that's great One! Thanks

OneLittleLady · 28/09/2013 19:07

I'm super chuffed novice I've been hunting without success for weeks now but got lucky tonight! Good job as I'd already bought the frame for it to go in!

BrandyAlexander · 28/09/2013 19:18

Gosh I haven't even began thinking Christmas yet! I want to do something special for dh this year because I didn't make a huge effort for his birthday. Lots of good intentions but he's so hard to buy for that I panic bought. Although he's been wearing the Gant sweater I bought him so at least I know he liked it.

OneLittleLady · 28/09/2013 19:22

I'm only this orgainised novice because I have a HUGE family to buy for. I've got my son and six brothers and sister and that's just to start off with! It's a big deal in our family so I have to start early to avoid the disappointed face when someone gets missed out because I left it all too late Grin

Drywhiteplease · 28/09/2013 19:48

Blimey QueenC you must have looked fab in the supermarket......was the man hot? Sounds like a bit of a chat up line to me! Wink......you should have said "do you sing like Chris?" I'm a cheap flirty tart

Well done One . I have 8 nieces and nephews and my two who all have birthdays between Oct-Jan. That's 20 kids presents to buy starting any day now! Yikes!!!!!

I'm thinking of getting DH one of those things that turns your bike into an exercise bike....think it's called a turbo booster, but then again a vinyl of "Come on Eileen" the song that was playing at the party when we met would be cool.

shopafrolic · 28/09/2013 20:28

QueenC did you have a ready meal for one in your basket at the time? Pick up line if ever I heard one! Good work though.
I'm babysitting tonight, and house hunting on my iPad. Nothing stylish to report,I'm in Goldsign Lures, J Crew black v neck vintage tee, cream chunky cardigan and UGG boots. Hmm

MrsRadicchio · 28/09/2013 20:30

That's a great compliment QueenC.

Linus was looking forward to seeing your pic. Sounds a lovely outfit. I liked the sound of the dress too but get it seemed too formal. Hope you have a lovely evening.

Amber I like the shoes (v comfy too) but DH has been disparaging about them. I haven't worn them a huge amount but think I will more as it gets colder. Kind of hard to get them to go with stuff unless it is a v plain outfit.

Wondering also where Liberty is??

(Puts hands over ears to avoid hearing the Christmas talk)

Annianni · 28/09/2013 21:24

Sorry MrsSheep but I gave the code to Decameron.

Not sure if it's a one use only code, pm her and if she's placed her order, I'm sure she'll let you try it.

I laughed at your m&s escapades Dry :o

Can't wait to see your bag choice Amber and hope you feel better soon.

Dh and the ds's are full of colds, so I should have one in time for my birthday next week Hmm
Dh is off work, so I'll probably not be online very often.

I've been wallpapering yet again.
Dsd's bedroom is finally ready for her, with lovely Laura Ashley flowered paper.
Just done an Ikea run for her wardrobe and I'll get everything ready tomorrow.

My Gap order came today, the stripe sweater that Eve worn out has is lovely, but i'm in between sizes so it's going back.
The plum sweatshirt is fab though.

santamarianovella · 28/09/2013 21:42

linus your outfit sounds perfect, hope you enjoy your night,

shop good luck with house hunt!

queen you are prettier than gwynnie, and yes thats a pick up line,

one well done!

Drywhiteplease · 28/09/2013 21:48

Ooh want me to come round Anni? I love building Ikea furniture weirdo

LinusDKD · 28/09/2013 22:24

Back home after a lovely evening out apart from the fact I was the designated driver so only had one glass of wine

When I saw that the hostess was wearing a LBD with red suede platform heels I thought "I should have worn the dress" but the other guests were dressed more casually, so in the end it was fine.

DH liked my outfit as well so that's a bonus. Wink

Night, night!

BrandyAlexander · 28/09/2013 23:11

Fab LinusSmile and this >>>>Wink for your dh.

I have to share a story with you all......Earlier on this evening I got this email from one of my male clients "bit random but you're not in NYC today are you?" So I responded "nope am in London. Was there 2 weeks ago. Have you seen my doppelgänger?" His response "Yes, it was the accent and of course the impeccable dress sense that convinced me. Will book an appointment at the opticians...". I may have felt light headed when I read that! Call me shallow but man that has out a smile on my face! Okay not quite the same as being told you look better than Gwynnie but still...!

Turquoiseblue · 28/09/2013 23:13

Shock 29 pages!! I m not sure I ll catch up. Have had an insanely busy week but it feel s great when one is productive !
So I ll say cheers and hello to everyone instead Wine, and share the lovely links from my "drunkey monkey tired after two weeks of madness let loose with the credit card while dh is out on the town" links from last night ..... here isn't it lovely! I am just so excited it s just lovely. Can't wait to style it.
My fingers might have slipped to this too here and this

Ok off to try catch up now, happy weekend all.

X

OneLittleLady · 28/09/2013 23:19

novice that is a lovely thing to hear. The only 'compliment' I've had recently was a random stranger telling me 'you dress well for a fat bird dontcha' Hmm I was tempted to kick him in the nuts but a lady never resorts to violence Wink

Turquoiseblue · 28/09/2013 23:26

Oh dear, punctuation gone awry tonight,

LinusDKD · 29/09/2013 07:18

Morning!

Quickly popping in to say that Asos has 60% off some James
Perse stuff and some V. Westwood for Lee.

I was very tempted by the ruched skirt but 'only' ordered a long-sleeved tee.

santa this looks quite like that I.Marant tee you loved but was so £££

I orderd it in midnight.

WhattoWearNow · 29/09/2013 07:29

Haven't picked up the lookalikey Rag & Bone boots yet, but will update when I do. I remember someone looking for a tweed mini (Foxy maybe). I saw this yesterday which isn't bad at all

Turquoise great drunk shopping.....love the skirt. How you going to style it?

MarshaBrady · 29/09/2013 09:17

Morning lovelies.

Great skirt What.

Linus glad you had a lovely time, I quite like going to parties/things where there are loads of new people. A glass of champagne and I'll talk to everyone!

Good one Novice and QueenC fly that vogue banner.

Anni you'll be a wallpapering expert now.

They do this thing in Boston where students do up houses in the summer, I was quite good at puttying windows.
