A happy and safe place to talk fashion (from high end to high street), beauty and the arts. All welcome to bring a positive state of mind, lots of links and an eye for detail.

Hope you don't mind me delurking for a minute to share some lovely copies of the Rag & Bone boots that are very popular round these parts! They are here www.houseoffraser.co.uk/Vince+Camuto+Hadley+boots/185259863,default,pd.html
And I found this review of them compared to the Rag & Bone boots really useful so I have taken a punt & ordered a pair.

I hope the links work & I hope you don't mind if I pop back from time to time as I love these Vogue Editions, when I can keep up!

santamarianovella · 27/09/2013 14:30

queen i hear you! it can be very tricky, i did the sneak a bit into the joint account for a few purchases,it first went unnoticed, but then i got the "talk",
mig thats a very nice thing to do,both our parents live very far away, and although we have someone to help with the house,we did not have anyone we trust to babysit,we hardly went out alone the first year dd was born, its much easier now.

mrR i did see the M&S version, and it looks very nice in RL, i think if you found a style of pleather you like then go for it! i did see a lot of peg baggy leather going on in london, and some look really amazing, very "off duty model look" i have no idea where its from! i think i will ask next time,
im losing sleep over my scarf! need to make up my mind soon,!

novice your DD will be thrilled im sure, loving the idea of a bag laying in your wardrobe unnoticed! Grin.

mignonette · 27/09/2013 14:31

Hi What. I'm a Rag&Bone fan but I like the paler suede of the Camuto's. Maybe both?

Drywhiteplease · 27/09/2013 14:40

Great links What , do stay....love your name Smile

Mig I did apologise profusely!!!

santamarianovella · 27/09/2013 14:40

dry your post is just brill Grin, the skirt is really gorgeous,i was at M&S yesterday, before going to the food hall i decided to check the trousers you mentioned,i was really impressed, and the place was packed with very fashionable and very young crowd, think prada and chanel bags not the usual M&S buyers,i think they really did well this time, good for them!

mignonette · 27/09/2013 14:41

Of course you did Dry it'd have been mortifying i am sure. I have a dark sense of humour I am afraid Grin...

Drywhiteplease · 27/09/2013 14:44

I like this coat a lot did someone else link it?

mignonette · 27/09/2013 14:50

[http://www.net-a-porter.com/product/386195 This]] is my dream coat Dry. I want it so much but cannot bring myself to pay 1.5K on it. Maybe it'll go to Outnet as the smaller sizes appear not to be selling well.

mignonette · 27/09/2013 14:50

This

santamarianovella · 27/09/2013 14:53

mig if its not selling well, then it will be %50 off when sales starts,

Drywhiteplease · 27/09/2013 15:07

Nice Mig

mignonette · 27/09/2013 15:19

Santa - Could i justify 750 on a coat do you think? I haven't loved any piece of clothing as much as this in a very long time? It seriously looks as though they consulted w/ me on what would be my ideal coat (apart from the price) as it is so my style.

Sandra Bullock is on the cover of Oct US Vogue looking very glowy. The issue is sitting on my desk taunting me.

santamarianovella · 27/09/2013 15:40

,coats/ jackets are what we wear the most, and its very rare to find something that is totally your style, and after seeing you, it is most definitely your style,

mignonette · 27/09/2013 15:59

Trouble is I hardly ever feel the cold and it'd maybe spend a lot of time on the back of my chair or being worn by a red faced hot little me. I would wear it until it fell apart though-I wouldn't care about buying another coat. I would also insist upon being buried in it so my family would save the cost of a shroud.

What to do? What to do?

I will email NAP and ask them how sales are going, throw myself upon their mercy offer them my body and one of my children and ask if it is going to be on sale.

santamarianovella · 27/09/2013 16:18

love the way you think mig Grin,

WhattoWearNow · 27/09/2013 16:20

Thank you all for the warm welcome. Yes Mig - I might have purchased both colours! I also really like these copies of another Rag & Bone style at Forever 21, but can only find them on the US website, so might have to try instore.

RubyLovesShopping · 27/09/2013 16:32

Mignonette I would do it if I really really lived it, that's how I feel about a navy peacoat so long as I could afford it I would do it and enjoy wearing it. I never used to feel like this but what if you wait for it to go to the outnet or in the sale and it's gone? But first I would order it and try it out to see if it loved me.
QueenC I like those navy boots a lot I may even try those out with my new grey skinnies. I get the fiscal responsibility speech a lot, just nod sagely and agree to curb my addiction, rein it in a bit then lapse back again. I find trying not to spend I suddenly see things I like a lot.

mignonette · 27/09/2013 16:38

I like Forever 21-I do subscribe to that even though at 47 I am probably not its target demographic.

Thanks Santa. I do have that fashion-logic!

mignonette · 27/09/2013 16:40

Ruby You are talking sense girl Smile. Maybe I will order it. I'll talk to DH tonight and maybe it could be my Christmas and next Birthday gift from him and ALL the children and I could pay the rest.

Decameron · 27/09/2013 16:47

Mignonette, that coat is really gorgeous, get it!

Nice boots, WhattoWearNow.

Marsha, NY was amazing. DH had the choice of a transfer to Tokyo or NY, there was no contest for me. And I am too tall for Japan.

Ruby, I am having the coat dilemma too. What is your pinterest name? I can't decide whether to blow all my money on a Burberry Brit coat or get a few nice things for winter instead.

Great you got the day off, Dry!

QueenC, we have those talks frequentlyoccasionally. I have a set amount to spend on moi each month as I could easily go over it otherwise.

OK, back to cooking my haddock mornay (which DD1 will refuse anyway).

foxysocks · 27/09/2013 17:12

queenc that's what we do. we did a plan with all incomings and outgoings, inc set amounts into a few diff savings pots we have on the go, then what is left gets split down the middle and is our monthly spends. has been as low as £20 per month in the past, now it's a bit higher.

went to jack wills today and tried the beckside crew that susie so so blogged. it's lovely and soft but very short and the hems aren't great. not worth the £60 price tag imo.

foxysocks · 27/09/2013 17:14

welcome what! stick around. and nice to see you posting too ruby - did you have any luck with those outnet boots in the end?

mig that is GORGEOUS. at half price, for a joint birthday/christmas gift from your loved ones, I would do it.

QueenCadbury · 27/09/2013 17:18

Glad to know you all get the 'talk' too. Do you think there's a thread for blokes somewhere to complain about their dw spending habits Grin. Still, at least I've been paid now so have money for London!

dry I just can't wait to meet you Grin. And the rest of you of course.

Ah, dd is calling for me. Had better engage as those of you who are my friends on FB will see what she's been up to!

RubyLovesShopping · 27/09/2013 17:21

Foxy no I stalked the site for weeks but they didn't ever get them back in my size, big regret! Still haven't seen any I like as much.
Decameron will send it to you.

RubyLovesShopping · 27/09/2013 17:27

I think have just sent my pin name to one of you, Decameron was it you? Was doing it from phone and dc going a bit loopy so wasn't concentrating!
