Foxy your outfit sounds cool too-cobalt cashmere-lovely.
I actually don't buy a lot of clothes compared to many of my friends but keep everything that lasts, quality wise. I buy a few 'fashiony' things that sometimes do not last in terms of how they look-some trends date very fast but most of my clothes are fairly adaptable from one year to the next but have maybe a detail or styling that is of the moment. I'll either go for a 'now' colour or a 'now' style' but rarely both together. So I'd buy into the pink that is everywhere but not the pink coat. I'll wear plaid but not a literal translation of the fashion. I'd wear a kilt but not a tartan kilt although don't get me wrong, I adore tartan kilts. It's just that I like to buy good clothes but cannot afford to buy into trends too much so I tend to spend on things that will last. Bags and shoes are my £££.
I do think that something will have to change in how the industry brackets up the year though. Many designers are having to put out at least ten collections a year and they are going to meet themselves coming back trend wise at this rate. Maybe designers will do the Prada/Celine thing of slowly building upon their look so each item in each collection compliments some of what has gone before rather than doing the skinny leg/crop top one season then midi skirts and neon sweats the next.
Queen That sounds a rotten headache. well, more than a headache. Those boots are very versatile and will transcend the seasons. I love Clarks. The Ted Baker skirt is definitely something I'd wear.
RE Grunge, I like the 'Luxe Grunge' look w/ button down plaid shirts and pencil skirts in check. Or smart smart w/ parka/Barbour over the top, the 'English woman goes to the country' look.
Anni Plum + Silver+ dark jean= lovely sounding palette. I bought one of those Maybelline cute little lip balms. Mine is clear. I love the candy coloured packaging. I am a lipbalm addict w/ a pile of no less than seven next to my bed including Carmex tins in cherry and plain, Blistex in the navy tin, Burts Bees, Rose & Co violet and a vanilla and a weird one from Peru that DH's daughter bought me which has Coco leave paste in it
. Kind of like rubbing topical anaesthesia on your mouth.
