4 only use decent shampoo
5 Dettol in the bath (love, love, whole family does it as well)
6 regular home pedi
7 never keep things for best
8 got my colours done
9 stopped shopping at next or m&s online (why oh why?)
10 Trilogy face oil (skin looks fab)
11 COLOUR, COLOUR, COLOUR..........
12 vicks on the nails - I've gone from having yellow horns to white sparklers!
and of course I have bras that fit thanks to the bra ladies!

What have you changed thanks to the mn s/b???

Hey - nowt wrong with specs! [I have the coolest frames!]
But agree with some of your like trilogy, colours and sorting out clothes... not spotted the Dettol tip!

Fishandjam · 14/09/2013 21:37

What are the Dettol and Vicks tips?

MtbMagic · 14/09/2013 21:51

Jennysense... while nothing wrong with glasses... At 44 I need a reading pair as well... and I cycle so I have to take 2 pairs in case I need to look at a map!

A cap of Dettol in the bath keeps you all clean and shiny (and I think the nits at bay). I have 4 DC's and it keeps their various cuts and scratches healthy. I had a home birth 3 months ago, ran a bath and baby and I got in with a cap of Dettol ( midwife a bit bemused!).

Vicks sorts out the lovely fungus ..... and I mean really sorts it out.

I think Vick's gets rid of fungal nails Fishandjam. Not sure about the dettol though.

OP, you're an inspiration! I started wearing scarves thanks to MN S&B and just generally take a bit more interest in what I wear :)

lurkingaround · 14/09/2013 22:25

Another one curious about the Dettol! Never heard. But it's smelly stinky stuff and does.....??

lurkingaround · 14/09/2013 22:33

Do you use it for the smell or the disinfectant properties?

CointreauVersial · 14/09/2013 23:06

Sorry, Dettol in the bath is just weird.

Fishandjam · 14/09/2013 23:07

Will it kill the spots on my arse, is what I'm wondering?

mrsdowneyjnr · 14/09/2013 23:21

Trilogy face oil? What is this and where can I shop for it. Good on you for all the changes for the better.

LeGavrOrf · 14/09/2013 23:23

Dettol in the bath? Jesus wept.

NorksAreMessy · 14/09/2013 23:28

Vicks sorted DHs ringworm (romantic)

sniffywhiff · 14/09/2013 23:30

Doesn't Dettol sting your loolah?

sniffywhiff · 14/09/2013 23:31

I'm getting quite a spotty chest in my old age - would Dettol help that?

PeazlyPops · 14/09/2013 23:35

Dettol in the bath.. I'm intrigued! What are the benefits, and do you still wash your skin with shower gel or soap?

lurkingaround · 14/09/2013 23:36

Grin loolah! Another never heard. And yet I instantly understand. Grin

LazyGaga · 14/09/2013 23:36

I'm thinking the same as sniffywhiff - surely Dettol in the bath can't be good for the delicate balance of bacteria in one's vadge. Technically soap shouldn't even be used down there, just water: Dettol is disinfectant. You'll all get Bacterial Vaginosis.

But I'm pinching the Vicks on nails tip for dh's trotters.

LeGavrOrf · 14/09/2013 23:44

I use dettol to clean the ruddy kitchen. Not my bits.

lurkingaround · 14/09/2013 23:47

Agree, water washes well. A shake of salt if a disinfectant is needed. And yes, it must upset the healthy flora of the skin.

lurkingaround · 14/09/2013 23:48

Shake of salt in the bath, I meant. Obv not a shake of salt on your loolah. Grin

InTheRedCorner · 15/09/2013 00:08

Is it good to clean the bath with Dettol or bath in it?

sniffywhiff · 15/09/2013 00:18

loolah loolah loolah Grin

I'll be getting kicked off Mumsnet soon for not reclaiming sweary words for my loolah Grin Grin Grin

Mummyoftheyear · 15/09/2013 00:42

Bra ladies? Please lead the way. Post bf boons in serious need of bra that fits. Lol

Scarletohello · 15/09/2013 01:01

Oh dear, this thread has gone rather off piste..!

I've been using sulphate free shampoo for my frizzy hair and my hair is much softer and shinier now :)

< can we move on from the dettol now?>
