Dettol in the bath is the way forwards. Can't believe none of you were on the old 'princessing' thread Grin

Now ask me about sudocream facemasks......

BeCool · 17/09/2013 16:28

I'm from NZ and grew up with Dettol baths - just when we had scabies, facial ezcema etc scratches or scrapes or stubbed toes. The whiff of Dettol takes me back to my childhood.

I don't do it now though - I haven't used soap or anything like that in shower/bath for years. I just bathe in water, with the odd body scrubb every now & again = nice skin.

HandragsAndGladbags · 17/09/2013 18:33

Dettol baths here too when faced with nasty grazes!

PeerMon · 17/09/2013 18:41

Huh thanks butterflies, I'd love a solution to bumpy skin so will give it a try. Do you think it would work just pressing a hot muslin on my face, or is the cleanser integral?

TiredyCustards · 17/09/2013 19:35

Sudocreme, now there's something that's meant to go on your skin - how long o you leave it on?

onlysettleforbutterflies · 17/09/2013 19:55

Peer I think the cleanser is quite important, to properly remove all the grime etc. I think that was causing blocked pores and bumps.

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/09/2013 20:40

Bacteria keeps the fungas on your skin in check, like a densely planted garden keeps weeds down.

As I found out when I went OCD because we had noro virus at work and I started taking dettoll soap into the shower, I had a fungal infection in my belly button Shock

DanglingChillis · 17/09/2013 23:44

Dettol baths, that takes me back. We always had them when we had V&D as kids, makes me all nostalgic for being ill and being looked after by my Mum. It's very bad for any skin problems though (like chickenpox or eczema) so don't try it for that.
