A happy and safe place to talk fashion (from high end to high street), beauty and the arts. All welcome to bring a positive state of mind, lots of links and an eye for detail.

My grey jeans are one of my best ever buys, QueenC . I dithered for ages (after lovely anni found a pair in my size!) but I wear them ALL the time. They go with so much and fit so well.

Annianni · 15/09/2013 09:58

I got some pale grey skinny's but I've not worn them yet I feel a bit sausage like in them at the moment
I want to wear them with my Jenny's I think, which are dark grey suede.

I've ordered a smaller size to try in the Cos coat.
It should be here Thursday.

Annianni · 15/09/2013 09:59

I remember nagging you to buy those Goldsign's Foxy :o

Drywhiteplease · 15/09/2013 10:43

Morning! Still Grin . Had such a fab night. V sore head. One of my friends gave DH this...she's great at presents......we'll leave the book in the little house.gave me a bottle of champagne, hense the bad head
I wore:
this
Gap real straight turned up
my new boots, risky on grass but the survived

MarshaBrady · 15/09/2013 10:48

Morning. Sun is shining, glorious Smile

Dry your outfit is beautiful and chic, I love it.

I had some pale grey acne skinnies I loved but did that bad thing of pulling up by loops, threw them out. Would love some new ones too. Think I would like Frame ones.

Decameron · 15/09/2013 10:53

Lovely outfit, Dry. Sounds like a great night!

Ugh, I've ruined jeans doing that too, Marsha. The J Brand 620s in onyx are really nice. I tried them on in Question Air, could have spent about £700 in minutes on jeans! Will wait to see if I like Burberry coats before buying jeans though. DD2 and I are going to Westfield tomorrow.

shopafrolic · 15/09/2013 10:55

Morning gorgeous fashionistas!
Marsha what did you watch? Any good?
Sleep how was your night?
Dry how's the head?
Anni good call on the Cos coat - definitely worth a try a size down, but keep the other size if not - I'm still loving your hair! I'm almost tempted to grow mine (almost)
Foxy I used to wear my grey jeans loads but not so much now I've had my colours done. Like Anni I feel a little paranoid about the size of my legs in them! :)
QueenC Nothing bad about your comments at all - they made perfect sense and you are quite right. Chestnut Pistols would probably get more wear which makes sense for something so expensive.
I need a rethink. And some ££££ in the bank!
The check M&S coat is fab, but won't go with much in my wardrobe - but it does look ace with skinnies, a black tee or sweater, and black heeled boots - and it's a gift from DM and DH so I don't think I can return it.
If the See by Chloe peacoat is good I'm going to keep it as that would give me my smart Maison Scotch camel coat, and the peacoat for more day to day wear. (that will mean I own 14 coats / jackets though if you include dog walking coats!) Blush

Decam have fun at Westfield and trying Burberry coats.

Shop we watched Vanilla Sky (again). I actually really liked it this time. Felt it was terribly sad that he only got one real night with Sophia (the Penelope Cruz character) and the way they change his face is incredible. Really felt for him. Love your coat number!

shopafrolic · 15/09/2013 11:00

Dry gorgeous outfit
I'm wearing the Dagmar sweater today here - so pleased I bought it, just fab.
Wearing it with 7FAM distressed straight leg jeans rolled up like boyfriends, my Hudson bashed up tan boot. Easy Sunday feel.
DM has lent me her car for a week so I have wheels! She's a bit of a racer so I'm revving around like a 17 year old in her speedy car - feel like a teenager in a Mark II Escort Grin

Hi! I was on the last thread but haven't popped in for a bit due to feeling extremely UNstylish and beautiful now at 38 weeks preg. Have done a scarlet red gel pedicure this morning to cheer me up a bit and now just catching up with the thread.

marsha did the tuna/oil stain come out in the end? I've been meaning to ask about suede boots, my ash ones are one the way and it is very rainy where I live - do you generally use suede protector before wearing new shoes as a rule? I haven't bought suede in about 10 years for this very reason!

liberty I have a Zatchel, I love it. I have the baby blue small one for summer, but was all set to get a tan one for work (got the Mulberry Alexa instead as I wanted it to double up as a changing/nappy bag and the Zatchels are very stiff). I love the Raspberry elephant and think it is classic enough to last, the navy is gorgeous but could be a bit school/book bag depending on what you're wearing it with.

I've been put on a spending ban (oops!) so rather than stocking am trying to wardrobe edit and organise into things I can wear postpartum and things I can't. Before I found out I was pregnant I bought some amazing MiH high waisted bootleg jeans, but it will be a while before I can get them near me again, so I have the M&S jeggings in burgundy and the whistles tube skirt to alternate with jumpers and sweatshirts or vest tops and shirts. Then big scarves (inc the Mumsnet one!) and for footwear the Ash spirals, wedge trainers or when its really wet I have short Hunter wellies. Coat wise, all I can fit into right now is a camel cashmere calf length one which is oversized but I think it will be terribly unpractical with a newborn. Any tips to help me out?!

shopafrolic · 15/09/2013 12:02

Umlauf spray your boots regularly with Collonil (original tip from Amber) and they should last well.

Going back a little into the thread, I have grey jeans and love them. I have a dark acid wash pair and a lighter, kinda dove grey pair. Both suit me and DP always comments positively on them when I wear them so I figure they can't look too terrible despite my chunky thighs Grin

MarshaBrady · 15/09/2013 12:23

Hi Umlauf Smile. Hope you're feeling ok and sleeping ok in last weeks.

I sprayed the Sam Edelman ones twice with protector and they seem ok in the rain. Oil is the worst however. It's not too bad as on side but had it been middle I would have been more upset. The KG ones were ruined, one boot had about five splodges on it and was ruined. The other was perfect. I did a flour all nightdress and suede cleaner but it was trashed.

Any way stay away from sunflower oil and you should be fine!

shopafrolic · 15/09/2013 12:25

Start buying your tuna in brine Marsha :)

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 15/09/2013 12:30

He he Shop I know, the dangers of a high protein fashion loving lifestyle Wink. I switched from brine a few years ago not sure I can go back!

Can't wait til you that gorgeous Chloe peacoat turns up, exciting.

MarshaBrady · 15/09/2013 12:31

Mm posting all over the place on last posts, hopefully you get the gist.

OneLittleLady · 15/09/2013 12:34

Don't go back to brine Marsha it's horrible!

Anyway, I'm trying to wear heels more often recently as I haven't worn them for so long. I don't think totally flat shoes are doing my already very flat feet any favours though. Anyone have any tips on how to make heels feel more comfortable to wear for long periods? I don't get rubbing or anything but find the balls of my feet really hurt after a while. Are there any inserts or pads or something that will help with this?

Annianni · 15/09/2013 12:41

Marsha sainsburys do tuna in spring water :o

I can throughly recommend painting a ceiling with a roller on a pole, for an arm workout.
I'm rather sore!

Drywhiteplease · 15/09/2013 12:43

I'm wearing a padded body warmerShock.....today I'm having a fashion low, feeling chilly and hungover....Uniqlo hi tech vest is on, will come off at the end of May 2014!!!!Grin I feel like putting the fire on and watching a chic flick this afternoon with a lot of tea.

Annianni · 15/09/2013 12:49

I've just made a huge bowl of pancake batter.
Ds2 was asking for pancakes this morning.
I'm having a couple with maple syrup on, with a hot chocolate... Yum!

As soon as dh comes home with the boys, it'll be noisy again.
But at the moment it's bliss!

shopafrolic · 15/09/2013 13:02

Dry sort it out love! It's only a hangover - no need for such a fashion crisis Grin What did the guests wear? Anything fabulous we need to know about?
Marsha yes to spring water - or you need staff to prepare your salads and the like for you!

shopafrolic · 15/09/2013 13:02

Haha thanks for tuna advice everyone. Yes staff Shop I wish Grin

Dry have you seem Priceless? With Audrey Tautou. It is light, funny and she looks fabulous. One of my favourite easy to watch films.

shopafrolic · 15/09/2013 13:33

I LOVE that movie Marsha

MarshaBrady · 15/09/2013 13:39
