It's 115 days to Christmas Eve!

You can use this thread exactly like you were using the previous thread to keep track of what you're doing, have lists, ask advice etc. As its about renovation rather than strictly beauty, nothing is off limits so beauty, clothes, exercise, healthy eating.

So here we go!

Hi everyone!

Sorry I didn't post yesterday- really busy at work just now!

Hope you are okay Control sounds like you are having a rough time.

Not many Ta Dahs here but keeping on too of daily vitamins, hot water and lemon, body moisturising, cellulite cream etc.

Last night I tackled my upper lip (cursed dark hair!) which was really getting quite out of control. Poor DP must have thought he was kissing a bearded lady!

We are off to a wedding on Saturday so tomorrow I need to get my brow done and deep condition my hair. Typically I have a mount Vesivius sized spot on my forehead!

Lucysmam have you tried that Iglu stuff for mouth ulcers? It's really great and stays on for ages.

Helga my postman regularly saw me with a boob out whilst feeding DD so your PJ situation pales in comparison haha.

lucysmam · 26/09/2013 22:18

Paintyourbox I have no mouth ulcer treatment stuff in at all....quite unusual for me, I like to keep the medicine cabinet well stocked. If dp's not working overtime tomorrow I'll nip round to the chemist and pick some Iglu up for it otherwise I can see me having to live with it until saturday when he's off

lucysmam · 26/09/2013 22:19

oh, and....is there a Wilko near you? If there is, go get one of their 98p tea tree spot sticks, has dried up some big ones I've had recently very well in a day or two. I just roll a bit on everytime I go in the bathroom & it seems to work (they might even be on 2 for £1.50 Grin )

ELR · 26/09/2013 22:28

Lucy I had an one on the end of my tongue the other day used bonjela have you got any of that?

lucysmam · 26/09/2013 22:32

nope none of that either Sad I may have had pre winter clear out Hmm

HelgatheHairy · 27/09/2013 02:04

89 days to go

I'm not wearing pjs! Knew we had builders coming today so wearing jeans and a v neck jumper. Nothing exciting but fit to be seen in!

OP posts:
lucysmam · 27/09/2013 09:55

Good morning Smile

well, dd1 has gone to school...says she's fine...we'll see (I actually think she just didn't want to miss out on this coffee morning. so, I trecked all the way into town for Iglu for my ulcer & dp's wages haven't gone in yet Angry & I didn't have the fiver in my purse (or the £2.50 for bonjela) Sad so will have to suffer for now.

Morning routine done, just need to fix a few squiffy bits of hair when I get back. L'Oreal lash serum is waiting for me to click go on my amazon order when wages go in.

Apologies for any random spelling or rogue .'s ...I seem to be unable to type properly today & am correcting practically every word I write Hmm

Helga it's nice to have some warning! What are the builders doing?

HelgatheHairy · 27/09/2013 10:18

lucysmam there was a large garage next to our house which we knocked back so it's way smaller. It meant there's a gap into the field next door so they're building a wall and pillars so we can put a gate in there. They're plastering the new front of the garage and we're getting a sandstone circle patio in the garden like this one <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.ie/imgres?client=safari&sa=X&hl=en&tbm=isch&tbnid=oun-tCvLILhWLM:&imgrefurl=www.marbleworld.info/Iz_Seiten03/pl_terraces_paths_standart_size_paving_tiles.html&docid=PTa0MBa7X2DB3M&imgurl=www.marbleworld.info/Media/Pictures_Products_Services/terraces_standartsize_paving_tiles_sandstone_mandra.jpg&w=693&h=450&ei=dUxFUoL7OsqZhQfyh4GAAQ&zoom=1&biw=320&bih=529" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">www.google.ie/imgres?client=safari&sa=X&hl=en&tbm=isch&tbnid=oun-tCvLILhWLM:&imgrefurl=www.marbleworld.info/Iz_Seiten03/pl_terraces_paths_standart_size_paving_tiles.html&docid=PTa0MBa7X2DB3M&imgurl=www.marbleworld.info/Media/Pictures_Products_Services/terraces_standartsize_paving_tiles_sandstone_mandra.jpg&w=693&h=450&ei=dUxFUoL7OsqZhQfyh4GAAQ&zoom=1&biw=320&bih=529

I managed to get my morning routine done despite the fact I was pushed for time before the school run this morning which is great, normally I would have shoved any old thing on and sorted myself after I got back. But I was properly dressed with jewellery and make up! :)

Today I'm sorting the house (rather than working as I really should) as DH has sprung a mil visit this evening. And she's an arse about 'the state of my house' when it's honestly not that bad! But I've been a bit lax this week so I need to sort it. Just getting ds2 off to sleep. Then I need to get to it!

HelgatheHairy · 27/09/2013 10:21

I can't wait for it to be finished. We moved in 2 years ago and there's always something to be done. This is ALMOST the end! We just have decking to put down and gravel the driveway.

And then start on the 2 acre field next door!

OP posts:
lucysmam · 27/09/2013 11:06

Envy helga, I'd love something like that but we're struggling to even get a deposit together to buy

ControlGeek · 27/09/2013 11:44

vvv I don't blame you in the slightest. Yesterday was day 3 and it felt brutal! catamong I would definitely recommend it though - the results are brilliant.

lucysmam There are 12 sets of holes on each page, so in theory it takes 48 pairs in total but if you're like me and have quite long danglies, the dangly bits can stop you putting earrings in lower down holes so in practice it depends on your danglies Grin Do chamomile teabags actually do anything, or just make you feel better? Hope your headache's better today. Ouch at the ulcer, what a pain to have a wasted journey like that.

I'm loving all the pj talk. The postman is the most exciting person to ever randomly knock on my door so I have no embarrassing stories to add.

petals well done on your shredding! Day 4 here for me today but it's a fasting day for me today so probably best not to do it in case I keel over.

paint thank you, I'm honestly fine, I've always been really emotional to a stupid level and it never takes much to set me off. Enjoy your wedding! I think you're heading over to my part of the world. The forecast has improved a lot from what was promised at the beginning of the week, and it should be pretty nice all weekend now.

helga exciting days for you! Do you have plans for the field yet?

Smartish clothes today, despite a wee bit of a hangover from celebrating DP finding out yesterday his job is safe. Nails done but still looking a bit chipped as all I did was paint over the old stuff for the third time Blush Matching earrings, hair done and oiled, makeup done. As it's a fasting day hot water with lemon was easy to remember. I've had about 1.5l of additional water since, too. No food til teatime today, we've decided to do away with our salad lunch to give us extra calories for the evening meal. Probably won't shred today because of the fasting, but very pleased that I shredded last night as I wasn't really in the mood. My trousers are starting to feel a bit looser on my thighs already.

JemimaMuddledUp · 27/09/2013 14:09

Sorry have been AWOL, life keeps getting in the way of my MNing Grin

Quick Question Double denim: I had a denim shirt that I wore a lot with jeans. It was a lot lighter shade than the jeans though. Unfortunately it is now too big for me, so I ordered a new one in the Next sale last weekend. The new one has turned up, but is a darker denim and is almost the same shade as my jeans. Is this a no-no? I'm trying to avoid looking like Status Quo...

HelgatheHairy · 27/09/2013 14:25

controlgeek only vague plans at the moment. We're going to have an "orchard" part with fruit trees and bushes. I'm going to have a veggie patch and glasshouse. There's going to be a play area with swing, slide, what ever else and a flat area for ball games. Means we can keep the actual garden quite grown up.

OP posts:
lucysmam · 27/09/2013 17:16

Thanks for the info Control....I think I own well over 150pairs of earrings Blush so will have a look for similar but bigger for them.

Helga your plans sound fab ....room for a small one to move in? Grin

Paintyourbox hope you enjoy the wedding tomorrow & the weather is nice Smile

Well, dp's wages went in....I went back to town for Fifa...I went to the chemist for dd1's prescription.....I still didn't manage to get flippin' bonjela or Iglu Sad .

Does anyone use any DIY treatments or anything? I think I might waste spend a few hours pootling about Pinterest tonight and see what I find.

After I shower &do evening routine & get the girls to bed though.

I'm shamed into starting the shred again on Monday....you all seem to be doing it!!!

HelgatheHairy · 27/09/2013 17:31

lucysmam only if your willing to sleep outside! Huge outdoor space, tiny (5 rooms + hall) house!

OP posts:
justkeeponsmiling · 27/09/2013 18:04

Just a quick thank you to control - I'm on nightshifts at the moment and was mooching around this afternoon but after reading your post about how great the results of the shred are I decided to do it again! I followed your advice and went easy on the bits I found really hard (them bloody squats, to be precise) and I survived! I feel it has loosened my muscles a bit actually and so helped with the pain - I now only whinge slightly when I lower myself onto the toilet, instead of crying out loud... Grin
So thanks very much for keeping me motivated :)

lucysmam · 27/09/2013 18:21

Grin do you have a tent or wendy house I could camp out in?

petalsandstars · 27/09/2013 19:29

Slight fail today, ran short on time for getting out this morning so went without makeup thinking that I never see anyone I know and I'll not be long and ran into two separate work colleagues who I have always seen with a full face and hair do Blush

Did manage to shred and do skincare routine though.
Had a funny moment doing push ups with my toddler shouting "chop chop mummy, keep going" and putting her weight on my back. Ended up falling to floor in fits of giggles!

JemimaMuddledUp · 27/09/2013 21:33

No thoughts on the denim...?

Have tried various combinations on, and although the matchy denim looks OK (and I have just read a Grazia article about how it is very stylish if you are Zoe Saldana ) I think I am going to wear them with black jeans for now. So tomorrow's outfit will be denim shirt, black skinnies, leopard print ballet flats, pearl stud earrings and a tan tote bag. Possibly also a black longline cardi if it is chilly.

I am looking forward to tomorrow morning, I have booked a facial, eyebrow wax, pedicure and manicure. DD is in Brownie camp, DS1 will be in a football match, DS2 will be in his drama club and I am having some me time Grin

lucysmam · 27/09/2013 21:37

Very quiet round here tonight!

Jemima I'm not sure about matchy denim tbh....been that long since I've seen anyone in it Confused pop a pic on fb? I've been after a denim jacket for ages....has to be just right though.

I've given up on working out that colours website.....keep going back to try and work it out but no joy Confused

JemimaMuddledUp · 27/09/2013 21:54

I've got a lovely denim jacket, it is quite short and very fitted. Came from M&Co of all places. I wore it to death this summer with dresses.

I might post some pics tomorrow, I am currently in my PJs taking my nail varnish off before my salon appointment.

Been doing a bit of Pinterest browsing for ideas, came accross this little gem - definitely how not to wear a denim shirt Shock

HelgatheHairy · 27/09/2013 22:26

I have a shed if your not afraid of spiders!

OP posts:
lucysmam · 27/09/2013 22:28

Grin she looks erm.........awful!

Your jacket sounds like the kind of thing I'm after, I have one but it's short sleeved & doesn't go with everything I want it to.
