Operation Renovation - aka The Christmas Countdown

HelgatheHairy · 01/09/2013 07:31

It's 115 days to Christmas Eve!

You can use this thread exactly like you were using the previous thread to keep track of what you're doing, have lists, ask advice etc. As its about renovation rather than strictly beauty, nothing is off limits so beauty, clothes, exercise, healthy eating.

So here we go!

Oh wow thanks! I'm definitely going to order some Joules ones. Just browsed their website and they have loads of styles and more in budget.

Hmmmm whole30 looks achievable. I can start that tomorrow....

Checking in having read the previous thread- hope that's OK. Have had warm water + lemon, shredded and am sitting with a hair mask and face pack on before body brushing and showering. Felt like death when I woke up on account of baby waking 6 times in the night. Feel a lot better for shredding even though it was really hard work!!

Right, you have my full attention for 30 seconds before the kids start scrapping again Grin

So far I have done nothing! Started with Brew for the mo, but have added lemons to my online shop for later in the week. Have taken vitamin with the dd's (grown up ones obviously). Am just off to wash my face (seem to have not taken my mascara off properly last night and have got up with panda eyes Hmm )

Then moisturise, minimal make up as it's Sunday and get dressed.

Sewing machine is out ready to take up my new skinnies shortly....they're a 34 leg and I'm only a 28" leg Confused . Also got dd's school trousers to stitch. Going to go through my summer stuff too while it's out and see if anything needs repairing. Doubt it'll all get done today but at least I'll have it all ready to do.

Marking place. Starting from a low base here, but looking forward to the challenge. I like the idea of being a new groomed, energised, fit me by Christmas.

Morning!

Had my protein drink and done PT, feeling good!

I'm going back onto paleo starting today (hopefully!).

What do you all intend (un frumpy) to wear to walk your dogs?

What's the 30 thing again (dunce of the class!)

Off to have a shower.

lucysmam · 01/09/2013 10:10

Grin Karbea you'll have to share that dunce's hat with me I'm afraid - I can't remember what the 30 thing was either & I want to start on the house this week....my wardrobe first

So I'm here with my warm water and lemon... but it's soooo yucky :(

I can't even try a third mouthful. I'm not into lemon (unless on fish or chicken) and I don't like water.

So I may have to skip this one as well.

My elemis body brush arrived. It's lovely :)

SlobAtHome · 01/09/2013 10:18

Basically my list is boiling down to body brushing, body hair, continuing to work on wardrobe (been on going for a while), fish once or twice a week, and continuing with nails.

I am definitely not awake yet. Read through this thread and then managed to post on the old one!
I can't do much about clothes just now as funds are tight for another few weeks. But I will be hot footing it along to Bravissimo to replace my greying and badly fitting underwear. I have lost over a stone recently and some of that has definitely come from my boobs!
Going for a bath and will body brush, deep condition hair and use a face mask.

Karbea · 01/09/2013 10:22

Slobathome I'm not going to do the lemon thing either, I don't mind it, but if I do that I will forget to have breakfast, I can't really drink hot drinks, so by the time it's cool, I be starving and will end up having crisps and chocolate.

lucysmam yes I want to get my house and wardrobe in order, I'm going to try and do some general mucking out tidying/cleaning today and then start on my wardrobe tomorrow I hope think.

Karbea what protein drink do you have that's not revolting??

I have this hemp powder, handful of frozen blackberries, handful frozen raspberries and 250ml of water, wizzed in the wizzer, it's pretty gross, but you get used to it.

karbea I love the way you have your list set up with the different headings.

I am feeling VERY unprincess like. Baby puked all over me so had to pull off top and throw on a vest top. I do not have vest top arms.

Morning all, just put on my random purchases from Primark this morning. What a revelation! The skinny jeans are amazing, especially for £10. I've gone for a darker denim and bought a jewel green slouch long sleeve top with green vest underneath. I actually feel and look thinner in this outfit and, dare I say it, like I've only just entered my thirties.

Dd has been taken out by dp so I've been able to blow dry my hair with serum at the ends. It has made a big difference. I want to barrel tong the ends but ds (9mo) has voiced objections to any longer in the jumperoo.

I tried the Gibson Tuck last night, quite pleased with the result, so much so that dd is sporting one this morning. It's a lot easier than the fishtail she has been demanding lately!

Off for a walk later with the dc to wear them out collect blackberries. I have cheapo wellies which fit nicely over these skinnies but I am coveting a nice pair by Joules I saw in John Lewis the other day.

Joining thread. Might end up just lurking on it a lot Grin, but feel I need something like this having joined a health club and not managed to get there in the last 6 weeks [ hmm].

Showered, scrubbed, hair treatment, moisturised (all over), plucked eyebrows, blow dried, make up'd. Wearing white primark vest, white zara linen tea, zara light blue ripped jeans, looking a bit scrappy but not tooooo bad. Off to the driving range with DH now.

Maybe baby puke is a good hair treatment ;)

Hello, checking in.

Love the idea of this thread and have been reading avidly. Love the idea of a Christmas countdown, normally I have a panic around the beginning of dec and its far too late by then!

It's the end of the day here and I have run, had a bath with lavender and Epsom salts, which was nice but not as relaxing as had hoped could still hear dh, also am hairless all over and dyed on top :)

Have been on a diet for six or so weeks and have lost that first chunk, hurray... Scales might be grim tomorrow as had the most incredible lunch, mackerel medallions with lemon and butter, salad and chips, and most of the brownie I bought for dh! Think I am actually making progress on the diet though because in a former life I would have used the blow out as an excuse for booze and a binge at dinner as well, but instead went for a run, did an hours gardening and dinner was chicken salad.

Good luck all

I'll tell you what I'm crap at.....

Wearing suncream!

Out in garden with dc's before our walk and wearing dark denim skinnies, new balance trainers, long vest top (to answer earlier poster's question regarding country walk outfit!)
and NO suncream on my shoulders or face.

Need to remedy this ASAP! Anyone rec a good one? I have oily/combo skin so could do with a light coverage one

Justshabby, I buy a facecream with a 15 spf as I am rubbish at it too. Never forget my facecream though. I'm using No7 Beautiful Skin day cream at the moment. Smells nice, absorbs well. I also use it on my neck and chest.
