HelgatheHairy · 01/09/2013 07:31

It's 115 days to Christmas Eve!

You can use this thread exactly like you were using the previous thread to keep track of what you're doing, have lists, ask advice etc. As its about renovation rather than strictly beauty, nothing is off limits so beauty, clothes, exercise, healthy eating.

So here we go!

OP posts:

glad your meeting went well vvv, I find people who look very well put together and finished off intimidating!

There's a headshot and full length pic of me this morning on fb. They're not brill & the vest I have under my top is tooooo long but that's me this morning Smile I'll post a pic of the eight quid primark jumper later on as promised.

Routine all done. Feel a bit wishy washy this morning, not sure if it's lack of mascara (think I need a new one) or last nights Wine Hmm . Earrings, lippy, flossing and mouthwash all remembered too...am getting good at this Grin

lucysmam · 20/09/2013 09:00

Dd2 has just pointed out I'm missing a button on my coat too Sad so we're getting the bus to the market to find a replacement when it gets here.

ControlGeek · 20/09/2013 09:32

lucysmam looks like you've got the picture thing sussed :) If you want a folder to store all your pics in, go to the group then click on 'photos' right up the top, just under the banner of profile pics. Click on 'Upload photos', select your picture, then at the top where it has today's date, overwrite that with your name. That will make your album, and you can add as much into it as you like - keeps it all together for when you just want to see your pics without having to scroll all the way down the posts.

vvv so pleased it all went well for you with the lecturer. Highly polished people intimidate me too, but since joining the thread I don't feel so intimidated and just spend my time analysing what they have done to look so polished Blush

smiling well done on opening your shred. Now you just need to put it into the DVD player Wink I am planning on restarting in earnest on Tuesday. Anyone with me?

rummi I think the homeless shelters insist the items are unopened and unused. My work does a staff collection of items for our local shelter each christmas and that's one of their stipulations. Enjoy Saturday night, sounds like you will be well primed for it!

cat don't worry about the days where you have gone backwards, you can't undo them, so just pick up where you are today Smile

Well, I'm dressed in my new primark goodies, and still feeling rough as nails but at least I don't look as bad as I feel! Need to do something with my hair, I didn't wash it last night as I needed to do it today ready for the hairdresser tomorrow.

Paintyourbox · 20/09/2013 12:28

Hi everyone,

Shall join the FB group today- on DPs iPad at the mo and don't know how to switch from my account to his (he keeps is logged on constantly as he is rubbish with passwords!)

Well Control I am shredding again- started in level 2 as that's where I left of but wow, I am tired today! I am well up for a shred support group, especially if we can exchange awkward shred stories (window cleaner arriving mid shred being one such example!)

Well done vvv on your chat with the lecturer! I am lecturing again from next week and dreading having to ensure I am polished daily to make sure the students take me seriously!!

I haven't don't much the past couple days, just found out our mortgage application was refused as DHs work sent the wrong figures. Spent a total of 4 hours on the phone yesterday to broker, solicitor and builders etc. Really Sad as we could lose the house and the money we have put in already.

Today is cleaning day so have that to get through before I can do my nails etc.

Karbea · 20/09/2013 13:32

Hi all,

I seem to have less functionality on fb when using the iPad, I wanted to create 2 docs, one for our fav products and one for products we don't like. But couldn't :(

Had my nails painted red, I always think they look pretty smart that colour.

Not eaten particularly well, but I have had vitamins.

My houses looks really messy and I've hardly any time to sort it out, can't believe it's Friday again!
I need to bath the dog, then get myself ready for theatre and dinner tonight. I need to leave home at 4:30.

tartiflette · 20/09/2013 13:33

MY HAIR IS A NIGHTMARE! Have some Kerastase intensive hair mask stuff which I intend to sleep in tonight under a microfibre turban.
Have got a girls weekend away next weekend, it's an annual reunion type thing and I'd really like to look good.

tartiflette · 20/09/2013 13:34

PS I will search for the fb group although it might prove to be one to many things to check in to on a regular basis?

tartiflette · 20/09/2013 13:34

Oops didn't intend that to be a question!

lucysmam · 20/09/2013 15:05

Pics on fb of the £8 jumpers for whoever was going shopping (Jemima was it you?)Smile

JemimaPuddle · 20/09/2013 15:44

It was me Lucysmam, thanks for that. My shopping trip is tomorrow, I'm stupidly excited :)

ControlGeek · 20/09/2013 15:49

Right, I'm off to elasticize my hair. No real idea what it's supposed to do though Confused It says to apply sparingly to lengths and ends for fine hair. Mine's fine, I just have so much of it! Will see what the end result is like...

bigkidsdidit · 20/09/2013 17:23

I can't work out how to add photos on the iPad when my photos are not on the iPad! I shall have to be an enigma.

Dithering about whether to put in an offer for a flat, we can't decide - dream flat in dream location but we have a rental lease so theoretically could be paying rent too till next June Confused aargh!

Wearing pre preg trousers today but it was tough doing them up! Have had 3l of water and resisted a cake in the cafe when DS had one so I'm pleased with myself today.

petalsandstars · 20/09/2013 17:54

Managed to do push ups without stopping on the shred this morning so I am noticing a bit of improvement.

Not done too well on the eating front, had blueberries and strawberries on cereal for breakfast, sandwiches for lunch and a cake my sister made, then pizza for dinner (lots of veggies on it though) will try harder tomorrow.

on a different note has anyone had their colours analysed? Someone I know had it done years ago and recommended it, but it is always good to get other views.

JemimaMuddledUp · 20/09/2013 19:54

Have eaten really badly today, nothing but coffee for most of it and tonight I am having Pate on crackers with a bottle of Crabbie's for supper. But it has been a very long day.

I managed to squeeze some shopping in between work and taking the kids to their hockey matches. I bought this parka in the DP sale, it looks really nice on and is nice and light for this time of year when it isn't too cold. I think I'll wear it with straight leg jeans and wedge lace up boots tomorrow for the football/riding/drama club circuit.

Hair appointment tomorrow too, plus I need to remember to buy some more top/base coat for my nails. I currently have a Virgin Vie one. Has anyone tried the Rimmel one? Is it worth getting separate ones or is a 2in1 just as good do you find? Rimmel is buy one get one half price in Superdrug, so two wouldn't cost much more than one.

I'll try to post some pics to the FB page, I have very few of me at this weight and with short hair. I could post lots of old fatty photos though... Grin

Cocochops · 20/09/2013 20:57

Evening all sorry have been a bit absent.

Can someone pm me the Facebook link all I see when I search is house renovation groups!

Just had my eyebrows threaded for the first time ever. Love it she came to my house for a barginous £5 can believe I hadn't done it sooner. She also wanted to have a go at my top lip I don't think mines that bad though so said maybe next time. Has anyone had this done?

Have been doing well on skincare rubbish on water recent and exercise is non existent. Am off on my hols on Tuesday and then intend to join the local running club when I am back.

petals I had a colour analysis done last year and was diagnosed autumn which I was pretty disappointed about as not a massive fan of the colours. I then got pregnant so haven't really bought anything. I am having a style analysis on Monday and the I intend to update my dismal wardrobe. Excited!

jemima love the parka

bigkids good luck whatever you decide. House hunting is so stressful. I would be tempted to go for it

ControlGeek · 20/09/2013 21:07

Just a quickie from me as I'm getting a migraine so going to sulk in a darkened room for a bit.

Hair elasticized, washed, intensively conditioned, dried, straightened and oiled (poor hair - it doesn't know what hit it from the days of a quick swill in the shower, rub with the towel then ignore!). Bought out half of my local Peacocks store earlier today - actually just a pair of skinny jeggings, pretty beige and blue owl jumper and a burnt orange fox top, all within my colours though, so very happy.

Food hasn't been particularly health - medium rare steak with lashings of garlic butter, chunky chips, onion rings and side salad. For tea I'm just going to have a couple of pieces of toast because of my migraine.

Hairdresser tomorrow, bright and early. Still don't know what I want, exactly, though Confused

JemimaMuddledUp · 20/09/2013 21:26

Have sent you a PM Cocochops

Just looked properly in the mirror when I was taking my make up off and I look bleugh. Have really been suffering with this cold and the skin around my nose is red, cracked and sore. I haven't been sleeping and have dark rings under my eyes. I just look really washed out. What can I do to make myself look less like the living dead healthier? I have a facial booked for next weekend, but need something in the meantime.

lucysmam · 20/09/2013 21:30

Hello Smile

Well, lazy evening here....have defuzzed, moisturised etc after my shower but am ready for bed I think so left my hair to do its own thing Confused I'll probably closely resemble Mr Magica tomorrow morning but never mind...only the postie and kids will see me until 6pm (dp.working overtime) so I have plenty of time to mooch and sort myself out.

We had takeaway tonight (pizza). I did throw some olives, jalepenos and coleslaw on mine though so not all bad. I had actually gone to the trouble of making a lasagne but no one fancied it apart from me Hmm

No Wine to start the weekend since I had a pub lunch yesterday and then a glass with dp last night. Have ordered a bottle on my shop for the weekend.

I'm still Shock at how neat my brows look after having them threaded...there are a couple of strays I'll pluck tomorrow in daylight but not many at all (the fortnight since I had them done has flown!) coco was the top lip included in the fiver? I'd have said yes if it was, I've been epilating mine!

Nail polish looks a bit Hmm ...has sheet marks in it from where I slept...didn't happen the other night. It's coming off Sunday morning so I can repaint them. Hopefully I'll find my orange one Confused I have a feeling I've shoved it in a half sorted box of dd1's school work but couldn't be arsed to look

lucysmam · 20/09/2013 21:39

Forgot to ask....fruit loaf...do it count as healthy elevenses? I've ordered a small one, some camomile tea, and some peppermint tea to try a bit of variety since I'm trying to drink less caffinated stuff.

Rummikub · 20/09/2013 21:46

I have fruit loaf, so hope it is considered a good snack.

I am about to file nails, pluck brows and will moisturise all over before bed.

justkeeponsmiling · 20/09/2013 21:47

Hi all!
Control thanks for adding me to the fb group, I'm really excited, kept going back and forth between the updates to get my head around who's'who :)
Lucy I'm loving the primark jumpers! I'm gutted i live in the sticks and have to drive for over an hour to get to one (and that's quite a small one in comparison to some of them!)
I'm also up for a "shred support group" ! I'll start Saturday or sunday, I've worked 12 hour shift today and another 12 hours tomorrow, plus FIL was admitted to hospital today for emergency surgery so I'm not being too hard on myself for now. Been generally good though!
vvv I'm glad your meeting went well! Hope your LO was ok in nursery !
coco Grin at your colour "diagnosis"...it sounds like an illnesses :) do the colours suit you though?
Jemimamuddle have fun at the hairdresser! I also love the parka!
petals I've done my colours myself with the help of a link posted here. I've had lots of compliments already on my new makeup and a top I've bought since so I'm sure it's worked for me!
Bigkids tough decision! All the best making your mind up!
Paint I'm keeping my fingers crossed for your mortgage application, what a total nightmare!
tart I am totally sympathizing with you, I've decided to stop using my ghd's 3 months ago, my hair now goes from (occasional) gorgeous curls to (mostly) frizzy looks-like-I've-been-dragged-through-a-hedge mess. It drives me maaaad!
Ok... Wine time now!

CatAmongThePigeons · 20/09/2013 21:49

Right, I am starting a little tonight, have defuzzed, conditioned and dried hair and moisturised everywhere. Forgot to put fake tan on my face so I am deathly pale with natural panda eyes. Beautiful!

Am drinking some water and will paint my nails as I haven't done them in ages Blush will probably paint my fingernails fluorescent pink as I'm hanging on to summer.

I'm desperately trying to sort out a decent A/W wardrobe. I only have one top suitable and vest tops are not the best summer attire.

I will programme some exercise into my weekend, I've been very lazy since I had a back to school cold.

lucysmam · 20/09/2013 22:10

Rummi I figure it has to be better than raiding the Biscuit tin with a Brew mid morning!

justkeepon our Primark is massive here, three floors & mainly women's stuff Grin I can happily waste a couple of hours in there. Only trouble is, even with it being so big, the stock changes literally every week so you usually have to snap up the goodies when you spy them. One of my favourite things to do, on the odd occasion we can afford it, is take £100 and just bung stuff in a basket.....never spend the full £100 either!

Blueandwhitelover · 20/09/2013 22:14

ooooh, can i be on the fb group
