A new princessing/defrumping/groomed challenge

HelgatheHairy · 23/08/2013 18:09

So last year on 15th September I started a thread about a 100 day challenge to take us up to Christmas.

There are a few people who are interested in another try this year so this is a preliminary thread to see who's interested and people can gather any things they want. I'm sure most of us have a few face masks and things lying around.

This year I think we should include a defrumping element to the challenge which will focus more on clothes.

The grooming element is about putting the whole look together.

Am I making things too complicated??

The first link has the guidelines for princessing but there are no guidelines for defrumping and grooming.

I have a 13 day old DD so might not always get a chance to come on but will do my best to keep things up to date.

So are people in?

I'm in- I've been making little changes but the exfoliating and moisturising (etc) never seems to get done anymore, and I've been v exercise shy- that definitely needs to change!

KateSpade · 27/08/2013 11:07

I'm in, I'm in!

I love this kind of stuff, i am such a beauty/skincare nerd!

I am concentrating on my diet from now on (along with sorting my F'ing life out) and am giving up fizzy drinks (again), as i have such a bad addiction.

Awks · 27/08/2013 11:25

I'm in too, and am starting tonight with being brave and looking underneath my toenail polish to see the fungal infection that I am pretty sure is there but I've hoped will go away if I don't look

Ogg to buy some aussie conditioner and some hot cleanser from superdrug as well

lucysmam · 27/08/2013 11:49

Good morning Smile

I'll have a look at those other dvd's when I have done the shred. Off to have a look for that in town along with some other bits and bobs.

Am fully made up, hair done, reasonably co-ordinated today (apart from green handbag because I cba to swap over all the kids stuff). Need to book kids hairdresser appointment and my next colour and cut later so I keep on top of it.

MUST BUY LEMONS!! and read lemon link too Smile

Lavenderhoney · 27/08/2013 11:50

Gracie990 I'm not sure about both due to time. Will do running and Callanetics at home I think.

Coco chops, my bedtime routine and morning one feels like it will take ages now- I looked at your list and realised I will be hogging the bathroom a lot:)

Going swimming today and lots of housework, so plan to do nails etc tonight. And waxing tomorrow:)

Going to get my eyebrows threaded next week, and trimmed, they seem rather long.

TheYamiOfYawn · 27/08/2013 11:59

Fizzy drinks people might like to try making some water kefir which is a fizzy drink only very good for you. It's a pain to make, and the first couple of batches will probably taste rank, but after that it's really nice. I do a second fermentation with defrosted frozen raspberries from Aldi and it tastes like the sort of very expensinsive soft drink that's marketed at adults.

JemimaPuddle · 27/08/2013 13:19

I really want to join but I'm a bit rubbish at keeping up with threads.
I'm really good at looking after my skin, occasionally skip body lotion but that's it. Useless with hair, diet & exercise though.
Exercise
I'm in week 2 of c25k but will also add kettleworx on the days I'm not running starting next week.
Health
Drink lots of water (only drink a small glass a day at the moment)
Limit coffee to 2 cups a day
Only have chocolate on Friday & Saturday
Beauty
Keep up current routine - am cleanse, tone, serums, moisturise, sunscreen; pm double cleanse, tone, serum, night cream.
Body lotion every evening after shower
Argan oil after every hair wash
Shave every other day
Keep up to nail care
Get eyebrows threaded regularly
Think thanks it!

bigkidsdidit · 27/08/2013 13:56

Can anyone recommend a good clear nail varnish? I used my seche vite topcoat this morning but it's already peeling off in sheets

ManAliveThisThingsFantastic · 27/08/2013 14:07

Can you tailor it for yourself?

For example, sometimes I let my hair get a little greasy and I want to change that.

lucysmam · 27/08/2013 14:14

right, I am armed with a sports bra (more like a crop top actually but am very small boobed so should be adequate) and the Shred on dvd....wish me luck for later!!!

currentlyconfuseddotcom · 27/08/2013 14:36

I have coconut oiled then washed hair, done nails, and was halfway through putting moisturiser on this morning when I remembered that I should be using the antioxidant serum first - so then had a juggling act with moisturiser in left hand and trying to slap on serum to non-moisturised parts of face with the right.

Have had too much coffee instead of herbal tea Blush

ManAliveThisThingsFantastic · 27/08/2013 14:37

I'm so stupid, should have read thread before asking my question Blush

LonelyGoatherd · 27/08/2013 14:44

Love reading your lists for inspiration Grin.

Today have had much-needed fringe trim, and bought some small sparkly studs to wear every day in ears. I still need to find my make up, but I guess not wearing it is good for my skin...

My list
DAILY: take vitamins, shred, eat fewer carbs, use hair oil
am and pm: hot cloth cleanser, moisturiser, floss teeth, body moisturiser, 2 coffees max.

WEEKLY: face mask, home mani, home pedi, eyebrows and tash, drink Wine

100 DAYS: get HoC style analysis done and sort clothes, get hair cut (appt made), get nails done professionally before big events (there won't be many of these, haha), use up free samples of various beauty products.

currentlyconfuseddotcom · 27/08/2013 14:55

LonelyGoatherd (are you?!) yes sorting out clothes is one of my priorities - I have a BRILLIANT and very cheap tailor near me so should get everything done. She only charged £8 for shortening two coats, one of them a very heavy cashmere one!

bigkidsdidit · 27/08/2013 14:57

Lol manalive Grin what will your list be?

CbeebiesIsMyLife · 27/08/2013 15:36

I'm in too, can't say I'll be very active on here, but need the push again. I was just looking at my nails thinkinb ive fallen off the waggon big time! I have loads of stuff from the last time I joined in and am really excited about getting back on the wagon and feeling great again Grin

ImFineThankYou · 27/08/2013 15:37

Right, we've got a holiday in two weeks so I'm going to concentrate on getting as beach ready as possible.
Have body brushed and used high definition this morning.
Low carb for 2 weeks.
Drinking lots of water.
Plan to run and shred too.

Will have a look at what else I need to do but just want to concentrate on this holiday first.

Does anyone know of a good firming product for wrinkly belly skin? I look like a deflated balloon ShockSad

ManAliveThisThingsFantastic · 27/08/2013 16:05
Grin
  1. Wash hair at least every 4 days
  2. Cut down on fizzy pop
  3. Maintain regular hair removal
  4. Eat more fruit and veg
  5. Cleanse, tone & moisturise at least once a day
  6. Go to the gym at least once a week
  7. Keep nails in nice condition
  8. Don't pick my lips, keep them healthy

Can't think of any more realistic ones

Finally got round to making some changes. Showered, exfoliated and used my lush cleanser and toner. didn't apply make-up but used a little primer on top of my make up.
Have moisturised and pedicured and had a few glasses of water.
Went for a walk but have now changed into my pyjamas (this is an improvement, they are mine not my DPs! Smile) this is the first time I've been out in 4 days, have been laid up with the flu so I'm proud of myself.

CbeebiesIsMyLife · 27/08/2013 18:28

so my list is,
Drink 1L of water a day (I know its meant to be 2, but 2 messed with my key tones and I got very very ill!)
Take medication every day and add vitimins C,D and E
Do nails at least once a week
Use hair oils
Eat 2 extra fruit or veg a day
Eat breakfast (piece of fruit)
Body brush
10 minutes pilaties 5 times a week
One early night week (might be difficult as I struggle with insomnia, but I will be in bed early!)
Give up lucozade (it gets me through!)
Drink warm water and lemon in the morning
Daily facial care, morning and evening
Teeth whitening

I'm actually really looking forward to starting, I'm not going to start properly till the 15th though so I can ease myself back into it and prepare properly (there's nothing like the feeling of failure to put you off when you realise you haven't hit all your weekly goals!

HelgatheHairy · 27/08/2013 18:44

I used my micro pedi this morning. First time in a while as I couldn't easily reach my feet. Showered, cleansed etc but done nothing else as DD has wanted to feed constantly. Think she's slept for an hour today in about 3 separate sessions.

OP posts:
JemimaPuddle · 27/08/2013 18:58

I'm just getting DCs to bed then I will be putting a gel manicure on my nails :)

lucysmam · 27/08/2013 19:03

Have just shredded.....not as bad as I thought! The run of star jumps/jump rope/something else had me gasping a bit. & feel a tad jellyfied now Grin but am off in the shower to Aussie my hair, exfolitate etc & then moisturise so will feel human again soon. *not looking forward to my thighs in the morning though

Will post my list once kids are in bed later on, need to find a nice notebook for it though because I forgot today in town (probably because the kids spent over an hour on the beach and rides that were there)

petalsandstars · 27/08/2013 20:40

I'm in too. DD2 is 2 months in and I have lost my sense of self. Ordered the shred from amazon today and will also be looking for a new notebook to make nice lists!
