A new princessing/defrumping/groomed challenge

HelgatheHairy · 23/08/2013 18:09

So last year on 15th September I started a thread about a 100 day challenge to take us up to Christmas.

There are a few people who are interested in another try this year so this is a preliminary thread to see who's interested and people can gather any things they want. I'm sure most of us have a few face masks and things lying around.

This year I think we should include a defrumping element to the challenge which will focus more on clothes.

The grooming element is about putting the whole look together.

Am I making things too complicated??

The first link has the guidelines for princessing but there are no guidelines for defrumping and grooming.

I have a 13 day old DD so might not always get a chance to come on but will do my best to keep things up to date.

So are people in?

Karbea I think you're right, will have it at 11 tomorrow rather than 6 like today.
Helga I'm impressed with what you've done with such a little dc. I followed last years but wouldn't have contemplated joining in as dd2 was only 6 months old at the time.

HelgatheHairy · 28/08/2013 18:44

Well DD dropped off so I showered, moisturised, etc and I epillated my chin hair! Feeling human again!

jemima I still haven't worked out my list but I'm planning on focusing on the things I should be doing anyway - like drinking water, taking my iron (mine is low), no fizzy drinks, things like that.

I've made a list of things to do tomorrow (was going to do some things today but spent the morning with an old friend). Hair dying tomorrow ready for back to school and I have hunted through the unopened boxes of toiletries I receive from my littlies and actually put the hand lotion next to the sinks. I do have loads of skin care lotions/ointments and the like-I need a list of what to do every day!
I have purchased a nice new notebook to write said lists in plus another lovely colourful one in which to write motivational words. gratitude etc.
Just under nine weeks to holiday to would love to be a bit lighter!

lucysmam · 28/08/2013 20:19

Shred done for today. I think I might have a look for something else though, I more want to focus on toning up my tum rather than all round. I will stick at it though until I find something else.

Just off in the shower & then I plan to indulge in the last scoop of peanut butter ice cream in the freezer while I maybe sort my feet out. Still in a bit of a cba mood though so might just make do with the basics for tonight and crack on with some other bits tomorrow.

Need to remember kids haircuts tomorrow....I took them today, thinking I had booked for today and completely forgetting that pretty much everything barring the co op and asda are closed on a Weds Confused Going to see if I can get mine thinned out a bit more while we are there, it doesn't hang quite like it should do.

(must order glue from amazon to fix the plates back in my beloved ghd's this evening too)

INeedSomeHelp · 28/08/2013 20:27

I'm going to add something to my weekly schedule - watching "How Not to Get Old" on Channel 4. I haven't watched it before and it's fascinating.
Went to a new local salon today for a bikini wax and also got bright pink Shellac on my toes. So feeling slightly groomed even though my legs haven't had a razor near them for days!
They have the Lily Lolo make-up in there which I've heard of on here before but never tried. Has anyone tried it?

TrucksAndDinosaurs · 28/08/2013 20:35

lucysmam try doing a plank on your elbows if push ups too hard for wrist?
Shred is great for whittling abs and waist - but there are a lot of planks and push up moves in level 2/3.

Gracie990 · 28/08/2013 20:49

I agree trucks, you need to shred all of the fat off before you will see those abs.

Stick with her, she's amazing. have a look at the walking pushups in level three, hard

lucysmam · 28/08/2013 20:58

I don't have fat! Just a bit of a tum Grin Will look up planks and see what I think. If there are a lot of similar moves in L2/3 though it's gunna be a bugger...only did one lot of last night's and my wrist/hand was v. sore this morning Sad

Chottie · 28/08/2013 20:59

Am I too late to join? I need a complete overhaul

lucysmam · 28/08/2013 21:00

INeed I put that on a couple of weeks ago to half watch while dd1 was still pootling about.....there were boobs everywhere!! She was FASCINATED with them all Grin

JemimaMuddledUp · 28/08/2013 21:01

I'm about to watch How Not To Get Old now on C4+1 (everyone wanted to watch Masterchef at 8.00). Should frighten me into doing something before it gets too late!

Gracie990 · 28/08/2013 21:44

:-)

have a look at six week six pack. I'm doing that next. It looks "oh so hard"

lucysmam · 28/08/2013 21:50

I'll have a look for that on youtube tomorrow night. dp will be a bit Confused if he gets in from work & I'm sat watching workout videos Grin

Paintyourbox · 28/08/2013 22:12

Hi everyone!

Am I too late to the party?! I did really well with the last challenge but have lapsed!

Need to get a good list going...

pipsqueakz · 28/08/2013 22:20

Can I join please am desperate need of serious de frumping.

ViviDeBeauvoir · 28/08/2013 22:30

Just checking in.

Have defuzzed for the first time in ages, done my eyebrows and have had Sudocrem face masks every night for 3 nights to get rid of my horrendous spots and they're nearly gone.
Unfortunately all 3 DC have been ill so I've done the diet in with a glass or three of red, loads of biscuits and chocolate. Determined to write today off as a binge and start again tomorrow!

feelingcalm · 28/08/2013 22:30

I am in too, need to lose quite a few pounds...

Lavenderhoney · 28/08/2013 22:53

Lucysmam, I often read a yoga book with a glass of wine, so relaxing:)

Waiting for toes to dry, put argan oil on my hair in an attempt to make it relax, its seems always up for a party ( or just gt home from one)

I have the shred and others on the iPad on silent for ease of moving around and privacy. The dc always giggle at my efforts !

GeordieCherry · 28/08/2013 23:04

Hair washed, conditioned & blow dried today!
10 mins with the epilator was all 14 week old dd would tolerate
Hot water & lemon done
Walking with pram & wrist weights
Wore a nice dress & proper makeup
Appointment made for Brazilian wax
Bathroom floor cleaned
Bio oil on scars
Vits taken

Need more water...

lucysmam · 28/08/2013 23:09

Lavender that sounds like a good idea. I have a couple that were my mums lurking somewhere. I can just imagine the comments/faces if I sat watching someone else do the hard work Grin

My dd's have been joining in the bits of the shred that they can do so star jumps/jump rope/ass kicking.....and then trying to instruct me along with the video Hmm on the bits I've said they aren't to do.

Am just off to bed now as dp just in Wink but will be back tomorrow....hopefully with a bit more motivation than todays piss poor effort Confused

SecretLimonadeDrinker · 28/08/2013 23:53

Please can I join you, DS is now 4 months old and I am in need of an overhaul.

Finally had my hair cut and coloured today for the first time in five months, feel a bit better now that the grey has been covered up.

Other then that I'm not sure where to start really, feeling a bit overwhelmed. I think I need to make a list.

renaldo · 29/08/2013 06:31

Can I join- am an overweight frumpy mess after a lazy summer. Are we doing a countdown like last time?

ShutTheFuckUpBarbara · 29/08/2013 06:41

I am in! Will buy a shiny new notebook and work on my list! :)

bakerofcakes · 29/08/2013 06:42

I'd love to join in. I lurked last year and did a few off the list but soon gave up. I am fat, frumpy and fifty plus. am feeling quite depressed so smartening myself up might make me feel better. will look at the list tonight and modify it to suit.

Cristiane · 29/08/2013 07:43

Please can I join too? I am single full time working mother and whilst last year I had some motivation to exercise it seems to have vanished this year! I love and have had great success with 'Ripped in 30' in the past and I just need to do that again.

I have skimmed thread, but will be off to buy a notebook. Loving the project 333 idea. Need general grooming and I know once I get in the zone it won't be too hard to carry on, just need to get in the zone!

My birthday in 12 days so in meantime will target

  • exercise as much as possible. Not sure WHEN to do this. Leave for work at 7.15am and kids not in bed till 8pm after I get home at 6. Any ideas?
  • haircut and colour, shellac hands and nails, and Brazilian booked in
  • will epilate legs
  • no drinking mid week except on the plane (I travel once a week and enjoy my homeward bound mid flight g and t perhaps more than is right!). No mid week wine is probably my greatest challenge but it sure means I sleep better.
  • hard to do early bed but will try
  • clarisonic and double cleanse every night
  • st tropes firming gradual tan cream as much as possible
  • taking cod liver oil and vitamin e supplements
  • simple eating. Generally I lose weight when I miss breakfasts, eat an early lunch, drink loads of hot water during afternoon and have simple meal at night. Might eat carbs at night but tend to avoid at lunch (makes me sleepy)

After birthday I will target

  • project 333, focus in A/W wardrobe
  • massive clear out
  • some kind of yoga class to de-stress me (finding life quite tough)
  • make decision about whether to continue on Cerazette. On the one hand, it makes my PMT better and my periods have vanished. On the other, it has made my skin much worse
  • concentrate on sorting skin out
  • drinking less coffee
  • weaning self off dairy (drink lots of milky coffee)
  • reducing meat consumption

Will carry on thinking...
