i have two and i think my bikini days are over. it's not my weight/body shape it's that crepey post baby belly thing. tbh, i would have thought that most people wouldn't want to expose their tums after having had a couple or more kids.

or is it just me Blush

bossykate · 14/06/2006 19:49

Not me, about 7 strechmarks have knackered under my bellybutton. Do see a lot worse wandering around showing it off but I wouldnt.
Doesnt look nice.
2 kids.

spidermama · 14/06/2006 19:50

I have four kids and a belly like a collapsed blamange but I'd still wear a bikini because I couldn't give a flying toss.

nutcracker · 14/06/2006 19:51

I possibly would if i was holidaying abroad , but not here.

notanotter · 14/06/2006 19:51

too right i would and i have had 5!

Posey · 14/06/2006 19:52

Nope not me.

Gem13 · 14/06/2006 19:53

I would. My tummy is fine - it's my thighs that are the problem!

spidermama · 14/06/2006 19:54

Are they porridgy Gem13?

lou33 · 14/06/2006 19:54

it's flat til i bend forward!

but in all honesty, when you get ona beach there is always someone much bugger and more horrific to look at who really shouldnt be wearing bikinis!

lou33 · 14/06/2006 19:56

I vowelled I wouldn't but on holiday last year there were so many woman of the beach with bigger bellies, bums and wobbly bits than me that I said I would this year. They were totally happy in their skin, and TBH it was a really nice thing to see.
There was me size 10-12 tring to cover up all my offending bits and they just didn't care. It made me feel pretty shallow.

Now that I'm PG again I doubt I will though. Might do bikini top with little skirt o the beach but not full top and bikini bottom.

mosschops30 · 14/06/2006 20:03

i did on holidy this year, but i worked dam hard at the gym for 3 months before hand so I wouldnt look like i did post ds and dd.
Lots of wobbly women by the pool though, all in bikinis and proud of their bodies, good on em. I think whatever you feel comfortable with goes

spidermama · 14/06/2006 20:04

I do it to make other women feel better. Wink

lou33 · 14/06/2006 20:05

yeh exactly, there are load of women out there who are displaying a lot more and not caring, but we forget that most of the time

Gem13 · 14/06/2006 20:13

Sadly yes spidermama. But they've always been like that. It's proof of my liking for cream cakes, chocolate milkshakes and Coke!

The rest of me is a size 10 so not too much of a problem outside the summer.

In France last year it was the whiteness I was embarassed about. Nobody was as pale as our family!

What the heck, they'll never see you again!

oxocube · 14/06/2006 20:13

I do, home and away (3 kids)

Feistybird · 14/06/2006 20:14

I have bought one for this year and have 2 kids and am 43 (christ, could it get any worse? Wink) but will not be prancing - will have some covering when prancing...

essbee · 14/06/2006 20:16

I wore one last year and trust me I was not/am not skinny in the slightest! I also have stretch marks galore on my tum but decided it was too hot for a cossie.

foxinsocks · 14/06/2006 20:16

I wore one this weekend. Have stretch marks all up my thighs and over my belly but luckily, they seem to blend in quite well with all my pale flesh Grin.

As lou says, when you are lying down everything looks flat, it's only when you have to sit up or stand that gravity starts dragging the flab down!

I say do it - sod what everyone else thinks. You'll also feel miles better when you get a bit of colour on the flabby bits aswell.

FairyMum · 14/06/2006 20:19

I have 3 children and wear bikinis. I think people are generally more concerned about their opwn appearance than others, but I take care not to stand next to a 17 year-old beauty. I do love my stretchmarks though. Just means I have given birth to 3 little beauties.

spidermama · 14/06/2006 20:21

We need to stick together, get out there in our tiny bikinis and let it all hang out together. After the initial cringing we'll feel so liberated and laugh at the pictures of those little boy shaped models.

Come on women! The time is right. We ARE this shape now and we RULE!

Blossomhill · 14/06/2006 20:24

Yep I do and look ok if I am perfectly honest.

Helped by my 4 times a week at gym to get rid of hideous muffin tops. That have now gone Grin

I am so lucky as have no stretch marks on my stomach, although have them on my boobs, and inner thighs.

tamum · 14/06/2006 20:26

Dear god no. Not even after one child... Definitely not just you bk, but hats off to those who do :)
