i have two and i think my bikini days are over. it's not my weight/body shape it's that crepey post baby belly thing. tbh, i would have thought that most people wouldn't want to expose their tums after having had a couple or more kids.

or is it just me Blush

ooh no

I hate bikinis and have loads of stretch marks grrrrr

SparklyGothKat · 15/06/2006 12:31

I have 3 kids and have just brought a bikini for my holiday to menorca. Have wore one since I was 17, but am slim and have no stretchmarks so I am braving it this year.

SparklyGothKat · 15/06/2006 12:32

haven't wore one sine I was 17

FlameBoo · 15/06/2006 12:34

I am the same as Spidermama - there are a hell of a lot more frightening sights out there than me in a bikini. I may not be as pretty in it as I could be, but I really don't care.

Oh, and hoping the norks draw the eye from my stomach anyway Wink

FlameBoo · 15/06/2006 12:34

Only 2 babies....

LucyJones · 15/06/2006 12:35

I haven't worn one since I was a wee girl. But then we don't go on foreign holidays so don't really have the need to wear one.

Piffle · 15/06/2006 12:41

I wear them but only if in very hot pool/beach situation
I would not toddle around my own garden nor the town centre in one
I had to avoid them in my lithe and lean fit teens and 20's due to enormous bust never fitting into a standard top, however sicne hitting the dirty thirties, sized bikini tops have made it happen!

SSSandy · 15/06/2006 12:43

what are muffin tops?

Esmummy · 15/06/2006 12:45

Yeah I would abroad. I feel much more concious about it in this country, i.e when we take DD swimming.
Just find the bigges thing on the beach you can and stay with her at all times Grin. You will feel great :)

Bozza · 15/06/2006 12:51

I have two children and wear them on holiday. I am a size 10 and my stomach is my worst part but no stretch marks so not much difference when covered with a costume - it still bulges. Grin

Bozza · 15/06/2006 12:52

Would also wear on English beach. But not at swimming pool.

themoon66 · 15/06/2006 12:54

Bozza - I never wear one for the local swimming pool. Only abroad.

eldestgirl · 15/06/2006 12:56

Nope, but then have never liked them much. Always been a bit of a one-piece fan.
Post 2 children, have escaped the stretch marks and the cellulite but definitely have a crepey stomach. If I bend forward, I have the stomach of a pensioner...

mythumbelinas · 15/06/2006 12:58

i just came back from a lovely holiday last week .. bought 3 new bikinis and wore them all :)
i've always worn bikinis

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 15/06/2006 12:59

I wear them abroad - wouldn't at home.

I've got 3 kids but the stretch marks are the least of my worries - two vertical scars on my stomach pale the stretch marks in to insignificance. Come to think of it my belly is probably pretty offensive actually Blush

lou33 · 15/06/2006 12:59

is it bad form to wear them in swimming pools over here then?

i wouldnt think twice about doing so

tiredemma · 15/06/2006 13:00

i wear them when i go abroad, but in the uk i wear a cossy.

themoon66 · 15/06/2006 13:03

Yes Lou, i think it maybe is bad form to wear them in local pool for, say, a lane session. Outdoors in the sun at the lido would be okay I think.

And talking of crepe-iness... i glanced down on holiday and noticed the tops of my norkes look kinda empty... like the skin is now too big. Shock

oxocube · 15/06/2006 13:05

Why is it bad form? I wear bikinis to take my 3 kids to the local pool and so do a couple of my friends.

themoon66 · 15/06/2006 13:11

Bad form for serious swimming session - like ploughing up and down in lanes I mean.

oxocube · 15/06/2006 13:16

that alright then as I am only a serious paddler and then only when my kids nag me enough to force me into the water!

Enid · 15/06/2006 13:17

I wear a bikini - its my saggy big arse thats the problem tbh

also too long in the body for a comfy swimsuit

Cadmum · 15/06/2006 13:22

I did last summer... I am just too tall for a one piece. Thank heavens for the Tankini this year because I am still not fit 3 1/2 month after DB4...

I am also as white as a ghost but how would that be any less offensive in a one piece costume?

Life is just too short to care about such things really.

Enid · 15/06/2006 13:23

St tropez covers up a multitude of sins

themoon66 · 15/06/2006 13:27

Yeah Enid - st tropez is my rescue remedy too.
