i have two and i think my bikini days are over. it's not my weight/body shape it's that crepey post baby belly thing. tbh, i would have thought that most people wouldn't want to expose their tums after having had a couple or more kids.

or is it just me Blush

I have no stretch marks and am slim but do have horrid spider veins on one leg, but these would show in bikini, swimsuit or shorts so try to distract by flashing the rest of the flesh as much as possibleGrin Def agree about not standing next to bunch of beautiful 17 year olds though!

SenoraPostrophe · 14/06/2006 20:29

ha!

FrannyandZooey · 14/06/2006 20:30

Yes I must admit it had never occurred to me that I could still wear a bikini even though my stomach is a bit buggered.

Quite a liberating thought, actually.

littlerach · 14/06/2006 20:30

All please think of me then, as I am holidaying with my family this year, including my younger sis, who is a size 8, and very taut.
I am a 10 - 12, but a little flabby around the midriff.
Have already decided that I will bw next to DH and my stepdad at all times as they are considerably larger and flabbier then me Grin

SenoraPostrophe · 14/06/2006 20:31

but actually if I had darker skin the strech marks wouldn't look too bad... the main thing stopping me is the fact that I now have to palaver around smothering ds and dd in suncream and just can't be arsed to do myself too. I have invested in a special wetsuit type cozzie specially.

morningpaper · 14/06/2006 20:31

A bikini with high big pants hides all the evidence for me

And I run REALLY quickly into the water and hope that everyone has taken their glasses off

crunchie · 14/06/2006 20:34

I do in my garden, I don't when I am on holiday :) I sometimes pack one, but then we don't 'do' beaches so swimsuits are more practical wandeing around campsites

spidermama · 14/06/2006 20:37

Forgive Hijack but ...

Hello Crunchie. I've been meaning to say .... I didn't know your dh is an actor. So's mine. I find it very challenging at times. Do you?

lou33 · 14/06/2006 20:38

i dont have stretch marks either, but i actually think biknis are more flattering than costumes.

one piece ones cling to every lump and bump and emphasise all the bad bits imo

chenin · 14/06/2006 20:44

Well, I'm 51 (two teenage DDs) and I wear a bikini and do not care!! I have a flabby tummy but have lost over 3 stone in the last 18 months so am making the most of it! To be honest, I have having a white tummy also - brown fat is better than white fat!

Beetroot · 14/06/2006 20:45

me or naked!

lou33 · 14/06/2006 20:48

beety i immediately thought of you when i saw this thread, but didnt like to speak on your behalf Smile

magnolia1 · 14/06/2006 20:50

Me! 4 kids and 1 more on the way and I went swimming last week with my pregnant belley in a bikini Grin I haven't owned a swimming cossie since i was about 14!!

magnolia1 · 14/06/2006 20:51

Ffs Blush i meant belly

zoeuk1 · 14/06/2006 21:38

i would wear a bikini. not a tiny thing that ties up at the sides tho. i need a bit of boob support too. i dont think i look too bad after two kids , i have a few stretch marks on my belly but they get covered with a bikini.

themoon66 · 15/06/2006 00:01

I've only got the confidence to wear a bikini this last two years - post 2 kids. And i wear ones with string sided bottoms coz I can loosen the strings so they dont dig in and make the fat look bulgy. I wear supportive halter tops coz of big saggy DD tits. Bought two bikinis off www.bravissimo.com. Never found anything in the shops that fits as well.

JonesTheSteam · 15/06/2006 00:06

Would feel too self-conscious - have horrendous stretch marks and a really saggy tum. It's just extra skin though so it won't go away with exercise. I need a tummy-tuck!!!!!!

I'm a size 12 and would quite happily do so in the past. But not now. I hate my stomach!!

collision · 15/06/2006 00:27

I always wear a bikini but not the nasty strappy little things!

BHS (I know, I know!) do proper underwired ones and knickers that arent too low and cover up some of your tummy without you looking like a granny.

i also got a nice one from Asda which is underwired.

TomThumb · 15/06/2006 00:29

I have two children. Its not that that puts me off wearing a bikini, its the two or more bellies that calls a halt to it Grin

oxocube · 15/06/2006 06:39

here, here to bravissimo. I have 2 bikinis from there and they are fab - supportive (boobs) but still sexy

suzywong · 15/06/2006 06:42

Answer to OP
Nah.

lou33 · 15/06/2006 12:12

my bikinis arrived today Smile

oliveoil · 15/06/2006 12:18

I am a size 10/12 and have a crepey belly with about 3 stretch marks.

I would probably go for a tankini style thing, vest top and shorts, instead of a normal bikini.

I look fine standing up but I get 7 stomachs when I bend down but who the hell cares?

The woman that wrote The Best Friends Guide To.......books did a great quote once saying she wouldn't bend over on a beach even if there was a huge diamond at her feet!

spacedonkey · 15/06/2006 12:19

I wouldn't. I have hundreds of stretch marks on my poor old belly :(

GDG · 15/06/2006 12:24

Me - I wore them on holiday a couple of weeks ago. After 3 children the bottom half of my stomach is a bit crepey but that's covered by bikini bottoms. Lucky enough not to have stretch marks and vaguely slim so just about get away with it!
