I am getting my hair cut tommorrow, and am losing the plot.

it is long atm. It is brown. It is kind of wavy in a bad way.

It is so thick and wiry you could...oh I don't know, do something deeply funny with it.

I have an oval face, a huge nose, and seem to develop a centre parting despite all odds.

It needs to be absolutely zero maintance. Nowt. Medium length good. No super short styles, they require extensive make up or else geography teacher fleeces IMO.

Can someone just please tell me how to cut it? Please? Someone must know about these things.

ok. I want to look funky, you see, and not at all mumsy. I want the to puke stains to look like an ironic statement.

Filly - me too - would love to go and come out looking a bit more with -it which at 38 may be impossible!

notanotter · 12/06/2006 22:26

FillyjonktheFluffy · 12/06/2006 22:27

the thing is they make you with it for about 1 hour, then its back to the puke stains.

What do you use to get blue hair? I have a complete obsession with the colour of \link{http://pictures.dehavilland.co.uk/live/photo3954.jpg\Jane Goldman's} hair, but I'm worried that if I bleach mine first, so that the colour lasts, it'll knacker it. Do you use Crazy Colour?

FillyjonktheFluffy · 12/06/2006 22:37

i don't actually bleach it, tbh. i just use um...i don't know what its called, you can get it in...um...shops off the royal mile in edinburgh. really thick gloopy stuff...god, how helpful am I? sorry.

FrannyandZooey · 12/06/2006 22:39

When I had blue hair, I used to bleach it then use Directions. You have to bleach it first unless your hair is very pale to begin with.

FillyjonktheFluffy · 12/06/2006 22:49

ah no, this was strong stuff...not directions...they sell this stuff in little pots from tattooist parlours...

it wasn't really that blue though, more navy...

OP posts:
FillyjonktheFluffy · 12/06/2006 22:50

oh no actually I think it was directions...Blush

OP posts:
FillyjonktheFluffy · 12/06/2006 22:51

but i didn't bleach it. So there.

as I say, it was navy

Argh, if you must wash it every day then don't use shampoo every day! Just conditioner!

fillyjonk your hair sounds like mine i.e. thick and unruly :-S

In which case a "sleek" bob is out imo. Go for something layered but still with a fair bit of length on top. I find that with thick hair it works really well as you have the necessary volume to make the style work. You don't want to be faffing about with products and straighteners every morning do you?

spacedonkey · 13/06/2006 00:45

just saw the front runner link further down the thread - I reckon that will work well!

The model's hair looks quite fine though, and laden with product :-S But on thick hair I think it would work better

FillyjonktheFluffy · 13/06/2006 07:07

thanx sd.

I just hate faffing

FJ I would also ask the hairdresser for advice about looking after your hair - I am sure it's going to make it really dry and wild to wash it every day :(

I hope you have a good time - if they are any good they will be able to look through books with you and advise you on what will suit you. I would have thought something short and messy that you could just put a bit of wax in in the morning, but you said not short, so I don't know. Long hair is at least low maintenance in the morning as it just sits there :)

The GHDs are actually worth the money - but if you wash your hair every day you would have to straighten it every day - which would make it even drier - and I really couldn't be answerable for the consequences Shock

FrannyandZooey · 13/06/2006 07:26

I don't think the glasses thing is relevant, btw, but someone else may correct me. I wear them too.

FillyjonktheFluffy · 13/06/2006 07:31

oh god, franny, you're me but taller and thinner and generally better looking, aren't you?

If we do manage to meet up we're going to look like some before and after photo

(before the leg extensions....after the leg extensions...)
