hello! thanks for DMs asking about me, marsha and shop - been on hols so only just back online.

was lovely - stayed in a log cabin in the peak district with no internet so have only read last two pages - massive hugs for one and amber, and carrie am so sorry re: the job.

no shopping here but having limped through last month with only one pair of shorts am considering a pair from j crew but they are a bit boring so not sure. anyone seen good shorts anywhere else?

boden order arrived while we were away - leopard flats are really really lovely but I needed to size up a touch. honeycomb knit in green also nice - great shape and good soft cotton, much longer than the acne crop top version.

will be here a bit over next few days but work is taking off a bit more. even set up a facebook page last week Shock and more enquiries have been coming in Grin.

So, AW according to grazia...
Ladylike-soft, round shoulders, skirts just below knee
Vamps- high shine, dark hues, plenty of attitude
Tramps-grunge with baby doll dresses, torn tights and tartan shirts
Big coats- the bigger, the better. Apparently.
Fluff-chubby coats and fluttering feathers
Tartan- gts dragged out every year yet I never see anyone wearing it!
Sixties-short, sharp and trapezoid
Sport utility- visible zips and d rings and elastic acted edges on shoe
Floral- think paris's ted baker skirt
Bri collage-designers cut up a few of their favourite things and then put them back together
A mans world-trousers suits
Pink-pepto bismo pink
Blue-bright, bold and regal
Grey.

There you have it!

QueenCadbury · 30/07/2013 19:59

Pepto bismo pink

MarshaBrady · 30/07/2013 19:59

Foxy that's great about more work, well done!

Carrie I meant to say I'm really sorry about work. Something will come up soon.

Fedup great to see you.

I always feel like I have loads to do when Dh gets home and I have to peel the dc off me. I just want to go to the shops!

QueenCadbury · 30/07/2013 20:01

Skirt in pink

MarshaBrady · 30/07/2013 20:11

QueenC I agree about the tartan. And I can't revisit grunge I remember it from last time Grin.

shopafrolic · 30/07/2013 20:12

Does any of it inspire you QueenC?
I think I'll have to look at pics - I was hoping my colours would come into their own for AW but by the sounds of pink and blue that'd be a no!
Carrie I'm so sorry - I neglected your post about work - poor you! It seems such a challenge to get things sorted (for me anyway) I keep telling myself that when the time is right good things will come. It'll be the same for you I'm sure.
Foxy I thought you might have been away but couldn't remember. Was just checking....!

Big hugs to One and Amber. I am so very sorry for your losses. Lots of love.

Mig love the sound of your holiday wardrobe. Last night's outfit sounded particularly gorgeous. Safe journey back.

Sorry to hear about the job Carrie. How frustrating that they didn't get in touch. There is nothing worse than waiting to hear about something that never transpires. Hope something wonderful comes up.

Dry I think that if you're happy with your hair there's no need to change. That said, if you grow it a little it is easily cut again. Finding a hairdresser who can do good cuts is the holy grail. I'd put up with prima donna tendencies for that!

Lovely sandals Fedup. Interesting that you wear hats in the winter. I think I feel more self conscious in them in winter than summer.

I've got to have my photo taken for a work thing tomorrow. Hardly ever wear suits any more and just tried on the one I was going to wear to find it doesn't really fit at the moment .

QueenCadbury · 30/07/2013 20:17

Man shoes and again. Wear now with slim cropped trousers.

QueenCadbury · 30/07/2013 20:20

shop no, nothing to inspire me at all except the blue and grey colours. It just all seems the same trends they bring out every AW but rename them Grin. The 60s style shift dresses may be good for me though.

QueenCadbury · 30/07/2013 20:23

dry according to grazia, the bob is back. Think karlie kloss cutting off her locks. You should apparently use a pomade (wtf is that?) to play up your normal texture or keep things extra smooth.

QueenCadbury · 30/07/2013 20:25

Nails go grey or grey

AmberNectarine · 30/07/2013 20:25

I'm definitely getting some tartan - I love it!

shopafrolic · 30/07/2013 20:26

Carrie I'm reminded of a marketing job that I applied for at Selfridges decades ago. I was the last candidate of the day and I knew during the interview that they'd already found their ideal person for the job and were just going through the motions with me. They never gave me any feedback despite several emails. It took me a long time to get over the rudeness!

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 30/07/2013 20:27

Karlie Kloss looks great with a bob.

Damn Shop to the rudeness. I applied once had no retail experience I may have only been considering the discount Wink

shopafrolic · 30/07/2013 20:29

Love that NARS polish QueenC

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 30/07/2013 20:29

The is a bit standard A/W isn't it. Hopefully there'll be some nice stuff in the shops.

shopafrolic · 30/07/2013 20:30

That's probably the real reason I took a long time to get over it Marsha Loss of potential discount!

QueenCadbury · 30/07/2013 20:31

Lipsticks are a sheer hint ofmcolour which "makes for an effortless, youthful look". Eg plum , rockabilly or black cherry

QueenCadbury · 30/07/2013 20:34

There you go, everything you all need for your new look. Not convinced by the pale grey nails but that's because I have huge nails. Not sure the dark lips would suit me either. Probably great on amber though.

shopafrolic · 30/07/2013 20:37

Dry went to your profile to nose for hair pics and saw the maxi - it's fab! Sorry, not sure when I missed that.
Re: hair - go with whatever you feel great with. And YY to a fab stylist. Do any of your friends have enviable hair and can recommend someone new? i've been known to stop people on the street to ask for their hairdresser's details! That was in LBTF (life before Tim Fursedonn). BTW Mig he's intrigued as to who you could be - please out yourself?
I'm a big fan of short hair as you know but mine is very very thick, and there are lots of strands too so if I grow it long it's really challenging. Also I have to get highlights now to hide the grey and if my hair was long it would look very dry and over processed I fear. The upside is that it's very low maintenance and I love the structured feel to it, the downside is I have to wear make up all the time. No such thing as a natural look!
I'm waiting for your PM update Grin

OP posts:
shopafrolic · 30/07/2013 20:39

I love the dark lips too - especially the red.

OP posts:
shopafrolic · 30/07/2013 20:40

Thanks QueenC next time feel free to tell me not to be so lazy and go and buy my own copy of Grazia Grin

OP posts:
QueenCadbury · 30/07/2013 20:45

Nah shop don't bother. It's a waste of money. I wish dh would cancel my subscription.
