...when encountering people who go: Oh I'm a 34A when they really are most probably not?

I am finding it hard to convince people out of believing their M & S sizes and refer them to the bra gurus fitting guide. But it's so deeply ingrained into common thinking that anything over a D is massive and that they MUST be a 34/36 frame even when they are blatantly smaller than me and I measure as a 32!

Oh yeah, I was in HoF and there was this tiny little woman saying she was a 34C, no WAY. Not a murmur from the assistant either she just handed her the size requested.

It's like the default size for small women, oh I must be a 34C 'cause I'm small but my boobs aren't massive, no sirree....

People look at me like I'm mad when I tell them that I'm a 32FF/G. I swear they're thinking: No, YOU'VE got it wrong. Little do they know!

I confess, I'm totally obsessed and spend a lot of time looking at other people's boobs . Friends and family now let me 'intervene' them just to shut me up. I will admit to a couple of in-store interventions too. The women concerned were like this

Yup. Sometimes I look at another woman and just cannot help but notice her boobs and how she is clearly wearing the wrong size bra, which sooner or later is going to give someone the wrong idea and lead to a very awkward conversation. I've interventioned a few friends too. One I'm still working on, she does believe me but for some reason won't actually apply this to herself and I can't exactly physically drag her into a fitting room now can I...

Agreed. I got measured in Mothercare for a feeding bra a couple of weeks ago (I know, I know) and laughed out loud when the assistant told me I was a 36DD.
The same day, I was fitted perfectly in a Freya 30FF.

googie have a look at any of the bra intervention threads on S&B. Alternatively, post your measurements here and someone will give you an idea of size. Measure tightly under your boobs around your rib cage, then lean forward to boobs are falling forward and measure around the largest measurement.

I have to bite my tongue not to stop total strangers in the street at times. I've seen so many older ladies (50s/60s/70s) in such badly fitting bras, not to mention the young, tiny women wearing 34s.

I'm in a 36G/38F though haven't been measured for ages. My bras are embarrassing and old. I have no time to go into the city to get fitted at bravisimo. I have been promising myself since I had ds. Hes now 3.7. Dd is 2. I don't want to order online as its highly unlikely it won't cost a fortune in returns.

Wish someone offered an at home service.

I have never read a bra thread but. I was wearing correct size. I then weight gained 2 stone last year after shedding the weight I was not sure why my old size was not fitting properly. I had dropped a back size after so much exercise now my 28f boobs are even harder to buy for. although 30dd is a little easier :)

I measured myself as a 34E using the thread on here and went into bravissimo and got them to check that the 34E and they said I was right so bought 3 bras. Got home and when I wear them and walk around my nips pop out!!!!! Is there a size for that ? My cousin who is 12 wears a 32C and she is tiny and measures 27 inches under bust but she won't listen to me!

Sounds like you need to go up in the cup wowserz! If Bravissimo fitted then take em back, they will replace if they get it wrong. Sometimes things look ok standing still - I walk around , jump etc when trying bras on

I was wearing a 34DD for years. I went to Freya at HoF and came out a 32F. Total revelation! My boobs are big, but not huge, and I don't have an especially narrow back so I was very surprised. A good bra technician has access to black magic which mere mortals can't fathom!

Poor dh gets a running commentary about whether people on the telly have bras that fit or not.

Some of the bras on Amazon are free to return, too. They have some bargains there.

I picked up a 32G Curvy Kate bra, today. Last time I was this weight, i was squeezed into 34DD!

Free returns and exchange at Bravissimo too - and if something doesn't fit you can ring them up and they will suggest alternative sizes to try.

I've spent a fortune on very expensive bras an have never found a comfortable one. They are always too right at he back and the straps fall of my shoulders no matter how much I shorten them.

Omfg!! I have been wearing 34/36 a/b bras. I have just measured myself according to the bra guru apparently I should be a 30dd! That can't be right, can it?
