Does anyone else now wince after reading the bra threads on here...

...when encountering people who go: Oh I'm a 34A when they really are most probably not?

I am finding it hard to convince people out of believing their M & S sizes and refer them to the bra gurus fitting guide. But it's so deeply ingrained into common thinking that anything over a D is massive and that they MUST be a 34/36 frame even when they are blatantly smaller than me and I measure as a 32!

It most certainly can chaos - it's quite a common size change actually.

Yes, I've become an inadvertant perv on public transport. Bad bras are really noticeable when you're all squashed together and there's not much else to look at except bits of other people's bodies.

Grin at "MN norkage algorithm"

I don't say anything to anyone but I now really notice when people have badly fitted bras. I don't understand how they can be comfortable in something that doesn't fit properly

There's a mum at school who I often walk with. Her bra strap is so far up her back its almost on her neck.

It's like a spot waiting to be squeezed... I want to measure her on the spot!!!

However. I am wearing my first proper Bravissimo fitted nursing bra (wore 34D previous feeding times this is a 30F and I'm no different!) but this is the first time I've had problems with breast pain. Likely a blocked duct which can be caused by ill-fitting bras Confused

How far forward are we leaning here? Can anyone give me an idea of gradient?

And...I know one of my boobs is bigger than the other Smile wtf does THAT do to this whole charade that is my bra/boob situ?

WeAreSix - how does the bra feel otherwise, and is it a wired or non wired bra?

Report
StatisticallyChallenged · 09/07/2013 20:38

googietheegg - as close to 90 degrees as you can manage. Measure as you are size wise, but you will want to try sizes around and read the article on the blog about asymmetry

Not wired.

Feels ok. The cups are a lot higher up than I'm used to, but that's just the design I think.

The back sits nicely. Cups a little loose after a feed but seem ok as milk refills if that makes sense.

Maybe I should measure again? I've just fed so it'd be at my smallest b

I went from a 42c to a 34E when I went to Rigby and Peller and got properly fitted. My boobs are around my ankles when I'm bra-less but they look great when I'm wearing my ridiculously expensive R&P bra Grin

well im not 34 inches I'm 31! also I've done the boobs forward thing and I'm 33 inch there? What does this mean other than I'm wearing the wrong bra Grin

Report
StatisticallyChallenged · 09/07/2013 20:44

browneyed so is that 31 under, 33 over? in that case try 30B, 30C, 32B and 32A. But, how does your current 34B fit - do you feel like you fill the cups? If so these sizes might be too small in the cup

ooh found bra guru so im wearing 34B and should be trying 30B. Thanks for this thread!

Okay, okay - can someone please tell me what size bra I should be wearing??

Just measured, and am 32 inches under breasts and about 37 inches when leaning forward and measuring...

I've been told since I was 12 that I'm a 34 A/B, which I knew wasn't right because my bras drive me insane with the constant adjusting and riding up, and because I've grown considerably since puberty (obviously).

Just measured myself and I'm a 32E apparently

take that teenage boys who called me flat chested

I'm off shopping.

Ok so 33" under, 41" doing the leaning over boob thing?

Report
StatisticallyChallenged · 09/07/2013 20:59

Try a 32G, 32FF, 34FF, 34F.The 32s are more likely as most people with slightly bigger cup sizes seem to get on better rounding down in the back

I used the algorithm yesterday. Measure 37cm round ribs and boobs are 44. I found a 36 FF much better than my 40C. Happy days!

StatisticallyChallenged - piss off!!! Shock Shock Shock Grin

I'm currently wearing a 34A - and have never tried a bra bigger than a b cup before - and I find that the cups on the A bra are too loose! I've always considered myself really flat chested - is it possible that i'm suddenly going to transform into a busty, buxom brunette with the help of a correctly fitted bra!? Wink

I am most grateful to MN as I had been wearing a 34A for years. I am so not. I did vaguely wonder why the back always ended up under my armpits!!!

Report
WeAreSix · 09/07/2013 21:04

Ok. New measurements

29 under.

37.5 / 38 over.

Does that make my 30F not quite right?

Hahaha Peppa. The thing is, the cups on the A are gapingbecause the back is all wrong. So it won't hold the cups in place properly. A DD cup on a 32 back is not particularly big - honestly

Report
StatisticallyChallenged · 09/07/2013 21:07

wearesix - the 30F is within the range but could be a sniff small in the cup, but with non wired it is more a case of fit as they vary a bit. On those sizes I would normally suggest trying a 28G/GG and a 30FF/G.

Wow!! I wasn't doing it wrong! Insane. I've been wearing 34/36 D/DD fir the last 10 years!!
