Am watching the tennis back on sky+. It's making me want a hat.
love this

I want a hat too shop! That one looks pretty good. Bought my DD a similar one with neon pink trim (doesn't stay on, obv). Gutted they don't do adult sizes.

libertychick · 07/07/2013 20:56

I'll have to chat it over with DH Shop - it's his birthday around that time and we usually use the August BH weekend to do something for him...

OneLittleLady · 07/07/2013 20:56

Like the hat shop I only own silly 'festival' hats like wooly polar bears and the like. Oh, wait, I also own a burgundy felt floppy hat with black trim. I wish I was even half as stylish as the rest of you ladies Sad

shopafrolic · 07/07/2013 20:59

Trouble with hats is I have a big head (who knew?) Grin so they don't usually fit too well.
For the amount of sun we get in this country I might just nip to the market and buy one for £10.
I know Bank Hol won't work for lots of people Liberty. Just thought i'd mention it on the off chance.

Glad you like the tee shop!

Sitting on a futon watching tv in a half empty living room. We have moved most of our old furniture in anticipation of the new furniture arriving on Thursday. Can't wait!

OneLittleLady · 07/07/2013 21:05

This heat is making me want to chop my hair really short just to get it off the back of my neck but short looks terrible on me, I don't have the right features to pull off a really short 'do'. Going to have to look up some ideas for pulling back mid-ish length hair so I can at least pretend like I make an effort Grin

shopafrolic · 07/07/2013 21:07

Downside of short hair in this weather is I always burn the back of my neck....

OneLittleLady · 07/07/2013 21:09

I'd love to be able to pull off a pixie cut but my face is too round at the cheeks and square at the jaw (god, I sound like a right looker Grin) I think the plump cheeks are what make me look young tbh.

LinusDKD · 07/07/2013 21:15

I think we might have the same face shape one. Really short hair doesn't suit me and neither do fringes.

MarshaBrady · 07/07/2013 21:15

Lovely day! What weather. Really nice all week.

Meet up sounds good Shop will check in with the h. See what we are up to.

Santa how was the party?

BrandyAlexander · 07/07/2013 21:23

Hello! Fab day, 20 friends came round, dh on the BBQ and me serving champagneGrin I wore slouchy tee, denim hot pants and havianas. We set the sonos up so the whole house and our garden were filled with summer hits from the late 80s and 90s and danced around to the hits of our uni days while watching the tennis. Happy days. There is a very big chance possibility I may be hung over tomorrow.

shopafrolic · 07/07/2013 21:26

Sounds awesome Novice - so much more fun when the sun shines!

Shop, I cant do the August date as am on hols. What's the significance of shooting season?

MarshaBrady · 07/07/2013 21:28

Well done Novice! Sounds fabulous.

shopafrolic · 07/07/2013 21:30

Not nosey at all. But maybe controversial for some. DH shoots - pheasant, duck and the like. Season starts in the Autumn and runs till end of Jan.
Means DH is out most Saturdays and I don't have childcare. The good news is that hairdresser will cut my hair on a Sunday because he's a star, so perhaps people might meet me for a Sunday lunch instead of Saturdays........

OneLittleLady · 07/07/2013 21:32

Sounds fab novice I spent the day pandering to my hungover sister who came by to beg some clothes, flat shoes and a shower after going to a house party and crashing out instead of going home.

santamarianovella · 07/07/2013 22:24

evening lovelies!,
what an amazing day,fab party!, ,didnt sleep much and was up early worrying about it,but im really happy to say that we all had an amazing time,no tantrums or anything , which is partly due to the help of an amazing entertainer ,who did an excellent job keeping the kids busy,so the mummies and daddies could enjoy the lovely weather and the food with little booze,
DD did start to cry when we all started to sing happy birthday,i have no idea why! but was back to her self when she blew the candle .

was so happy for murray, what a wonderful man,and going up to hug his mum made me all teary!

i wore a maxi dress by velvet and a pair of gold flat sandals.

and what is chub rub Wink?

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 07/07/2013 22:40

Well it sounds as though everyone has had fab weekends. Mine has been super busy - two race meetings yesterday (dashing from one to the other) and then DD's Stagecoach show in the evening. Today has been a bit easier with DD's end of term party followed by BBQ at my friend's. Enjoyed the sunshine, the company and watching Andy Murray win Wimbledon. Would have enjoyed it more with a jug glass or two of Pimms, but I was the designated driver. Officially knackered now and in need of a shower and half a packet of Nurofen. Meet Up sounded fun, glad you all enjoyed your stylish assignation. Some great links this weekend too. Especially like Foxy's Maison Scotch T. I have a soft spot for all things Scotch.

OneLittleLady · 07/07/2013 22:45

Chub rub is where you get sores on your inner thighs because they've rubbed together santa [sticks out tongue] I wish I could say it's purely because I've got bigger but I've always suffered from it, even at my smallest size 8. I think whether or not you suffer from it depends on the build of your legs, I don't think it's exclusively a 'larger lady' problem.

santamarianovella · 07/07/2013 23:01

one I have not heard the expression before, but now that you explained it,I know what it is,and yes it's not a size problem.

OneLittleLady · 07/07/2013 23:03

Be careful talking about it, shop might faint Grin
