marsha,oh no! i totally get what you are saying, and it sounds you made the right decision ,if it doesnt feel right, then its best to leave before getting involved, hope a better offer comes along.

sleep i did notice that we have similar tastes, and i do need spanx for the james perse dressSad.

shop short pjs are my choice for sleeping, never wear bj bottoms to bed, i get hot.

queen i see that you get right to the point,no need for frilly undiesGrin

MarshaBrady · 25/06/2013 22:51

Hehe I know. It's because no one can see in, all private gardens behind us and French doors in alcove so hard to deal with. But never fear no flashing to poor neighbours Grin.

MarshaBrady · 25/06/2013 23:06

Thanks Santa and everyone Thanks

Feels so much better now I have let it all out. Night!

santamarianovella · 25/06/2013 23:11

i asure you all that i honestly meant to type pjs bottom*,and not bj Blush.

Sleepwhenidie · 25/06/2013 23:15

ROFL Santa!

mignonette · 25/06/2013 23:31

Marsha takes more courage to make a decision like that. I once went to a training day with the late great Diana Lamplugh in which she talked about risk, personal safety etc. What she said has always stayed with me and has become a guiding principle. Although it related to personal safety at work she talked of how ignoring one's gut instincts meant going against ancient survival instincts that are there to protect us. Whenever I have ignored my instincts, there have been consequences that are not good ones. So good for you.

HappyRendeer I'm waving hello to you. I love Broderie Anglaise and never grew out of it. Will check those Pj's out.

My PJ's are for lounging and come off at bedtime Blush. Otherwise I end up furiously yanking them off at 3 a.m after they've given me the wedgie of a lifetime. I only wear a T shirt if it is freezing or I am ill.

Queen plenty of fun buying those big girl pants for Dd. A momentous occasion.

santamarianovella · 25/06/2013 23:46

sleep i pmsl when i read the typo! DH asked whats so funny and i told him "its just a post on S&B that you wont understand" Grin

AmberNectarine · 26/06/2013 06:54

I am a committed PJ wearer, even in height of summer!

LinusDKD · 26/06/2013 09:07

Marsha it sounds like you made the right decision! You turning down this job has probably opened up new opportunities without you knowing it yet.

I love wearing pj's, especially flannel ones in winter. But in summer they are just too hot for me so I don't.

santa such a funny typo! Maybe you should take your idea on Dragon's Den?

LinusDKD · 26/06/2013 09:30

Anyone interested in this

I bought it because I love my neon pink breton but this one just doesn't suit me. I have only worn and washed it a couple of times but the white stripes don't look as white as in the picture anymore.

It's a size 3 so pm me and I'll send it to you for free.

santamarianovella · 26/06/2013 09:41

How is your DS feeling linus?

foxysocks · 26/06/2013 09:43

ahhhh (((marsha))) of course it's ok! you can tell us anything, you know that. and it sounds like EXACTLY the right decision, your post resonated so strongly with me. have been there, not fun! getting out quick is the best way. xx

linus I absolutely LOVE that top, saw it instore on sat and was v tempted. would I be able to wear it slouchy style do you think? or would it look stupid? I'm an 8 really. such a kind offer to pass it on. x

amber I would NEVER have picked you as PJ wearer, lol. you are so super cool!

I adore pjs but don't sleep in them. i change into them as early as poss, has been close to 4pm in the winter months when it's raining. DH finds it hilarious. my faves: white company, juicy, lulu for bottoms with soft cotton tops - often demoted from daywear once they loose shape or develop holes.

I bought an american vintage grey tunic just after DS was born, wore it for a year as daywear and another as nightwear until it was more holes than tee. i threw it in the bin and DD rescued it, saying she LOVED it and named it Toppy (wtf?). so in reception they do a 'Me Box' - take it in turns to take home, fill with special things and do a show and tell. what went in the bloody me box? that's right, my ancient holey tshirt which she then proceeded to show to her whole class Blush

current elliott cargos are staying. bet that was a shock ! DH loved them, he said they were perfectly me Grin. wore them on SR with cobalt tee, silver havs, grey R&B biker. felt brill - shop you are so right about well cut basics.

my wardrobe is the best it's ever been and it's making me so so so happy Flowers THANK YOU lovely voguettes. helping me make great decisions. you are all rocking cool. xx

foxysocks · 26/06/2013 09:43

oh man, have just found a collection of stones on the sofa. living with DS is like living with macca pacca.

shopafrolic · 26/06/2013 09:47

Aaaaahhh Foxy your happy post made me smile. I love hearing the joy when people find things they really love. Good call on keeping the cargo pants - nice one DH! My wardrobe is also the best it's ever been, it makes me feel happy and a little more confident.
Today I am wearing the A&W red chinos again (skank) with grey short sleeved A&W sweat, and grey snakeskin M&S flats. Accessories are rose gold MK watch, rose gold Monica V bracelet and Chan Luu bracelet. Oh and my happy face coral lipstick :)
Cold here again today so may have to add a vest Confused

shopafrolic · 26/06/2013 09:48

PMSL at your last post Foxy

QueenCadbury · 26/06/2013 09:55

My kids have moved on from collecting stones to feathers so my house is full of manky grey feathers.

After 2 hours and 4 wet pants, dd has chosen to go back in a nappy. I'm secretly relieved!

Loving that we are all so happy with our wardrobes. I've got my saltwaters on and they are just soooo comfortable, even more so that birkenstocks. I can definately see me buying another pair next year.

AmberNectarine · 26/06/2013 10:11

foxy PJs are cool. I'm incredibly particular as well - must be cotton jacket and trousers scenario.

We are having a 'DH day' today (mine was yesterday where I dragged him round Westfield) so he gets to dress me. I am in great trepidation!

foxysocks · 26/06/2013 10:13

euuwwww feathers! grimola. that would freak me out a bit i think.

am catching up, waaah at dry.... dry and nancy sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G

foxysocks · 26/06/2013 10:15

i think they are cool too amber, glad they get your stamp of approval. am betting you end up in the skintight dress with leopard coat with killer heels Wink

I sold a pair of cath kidston pjs (another gift on ebay. they went for LOADS.

LinusDKD · 26/06/2013 10:47

foxy I'll send the top to you so you can try it on and if it's really too big for you, maybe you can pass it on to someone else.

That is, if you don't mind the white not being so white anymore.

My J Crew swimsuits have arrived and they are lovely. Now all I need to do is lose 10 kilos by 1st August when we go to the beach for two weeks. Wink

MarshaBrady · 26/06/2013 10:50

Oh my rec cons is so nice, a quick chat with her colleague to check if she was ok and the take was pulling the plug quickly was the right thing to do. I am impressed! I will be highly recommending to everyone. If anyone wants to know a fab rc in London my area just pm me!

Shop, Foxy QueenC and everyone - it's great to feel on top of wardrobe game. Definitely a source of enjoyment.

Foxy thanks! I ran out of work attire on my second day so it was a sign really Wink.

Mignon I agree. It was like a plaster to be ripped off. Quickly is best for everyone sometimes, glad Dh talked me down off ceiling and calmed nerves.

Linus thanks, I hope so. Main thing is rec cons still talking to me so might all be ok!

MarshaBrady · 26/06/2013 10:57

Actually I probably won't say why she's fab to people but will say she's fab. (In case some one is reading this and feeling nervous!)

AmberNectarine · 26/06/2013 11:34

Surprisingly decent in black t by A Wang twist skirt, tight grey marl tee, TS grey slipper flats with zebras and black leather biker. I have added neon yellow statement necklace!

QueenCadbury · 26/06/2013 12:27

What would you give a friend whose dad had just died? Are flowers a bit cheesy? Or should I just give a card? I've offered practical support, childcare etc but feel that I want to do something else too.

amber you're brave letting dh dress you. I'd probably end up in old scruffy clothes and walking boots with no make up on!

OP posts:
libertychick · 26/06/2013 12:39

I think flowers are always appreciated QueenC I sent some to my SIL recently timed for the month anniversary of her Mum's death and she said she really appreciated it as she felt worse then than at the time of the bereavement and she liked knowing people were thinking of her. I will pm you a poem that might be suitable for a card.

Marsha sorry to hear the job didn't work but absolutely right to walk early - client would be much more upset if you walked a month or two into the job.

I'm hitting my monthly slump - no energy, feeling crap, hair awful and hating my wardrobe...

Foxy if Linus's breton doesn't work for you can I be next on the list to try it?
