Good morning everyone. Hope your hangover's not too vicious QueenC!

Holidays sound nice...N France doesn't hold so much appeal for me after a miserable year spent in Caen as part of degree Sad. S.Africa for a month would be amazing! Are you or DH S.African Gwen? Where will you be going? We will be in St Ives for a week at start of holidays (well, DD's state school start, DS1 finishes on Wednesday Hmm), will also drive to our place in the Alps for our usual 2-3 weeks.

Novice glad I'm not the only one listening to cheesy music at the gym, I got some Beats by Dre sports headphones for Christmas and a cool (youngish) guy at the gym asked me whether the sound quality lived up to the hype. I casually offered them to him to listen to how fantastic the sound is, playing...Will Young Blush.

Trying to summon the motivation to take DC's to the pool...tea required first Smile

Hey, this time next week is day of the MU in London. I have booked a table for 1pm and so far i have on the list me, Shop, Novice (did you tell DH yet?), Marsha, Foxy, Santa, MrsR (where is MrsR lately?) and Liberty, some to confirm properly. Anyone I've missed out or anyone else who fancies joining please pm me Smile

GwendolynMoon · 29/06/2013 09:23

Thanks Shop unfortunately the little tyke was up every two hours again. Keep telling myself 'this too shall pass'! I think he's going through a growth spurt.

Sleep I am S.African Smile lived here for 8 years now and DH is English but he loves SA too. We are going to be on the East Coast where my family is from. We have a few little trips planned to different places while there including to the Drakensberg (mountains) for my Uncle's wedding to his fabulous boyfriend, can't wait! I love St Ives, went there with friends aages ago.

shopafrolic · 29/06/2013 09:45

Sleep Love the Will Young story :)
Can you email the country bumpkin (me) details of nearest tube to wherever we're meeting. Also, if I do drive is it easy to park? Looking forward to seeing everyone again.

Drywhiteplease · 29/06/2013 10:06

Grin QueenC ....my kind of lady! [Grin] Hope your heads ok .

Oh Sleep wish I could come. Will try for Oct.

Role reversal this morning in Dry household. DH incharge, lots of "will you get dressed...you've got 2 seconds...." Etc. while I'm wafting around in my pjs with my coffee, super extra chilled because its not my prob and I'm off to the gym soon..................wafts off, tra la la la......wafty wafty wafty I'm so calm .......Grin

foxysocks · 29/06/2013 10:25

oh no sleep I've been meaning to email you - I can't come Sad. family party organised and we have been summoned so no way out. Sad

queenc I am with you on the hurty head. too much wine watching tennis! Tennis Tennis Tennis needed it for my nerves.

can I admit to wearing the ce cargos for the third time this week? at least it's bringing down the CPW! with A Wang slubby cream tee, j crew denim jacket (still SO pleased with this, absolute steal in the end) and pale gold havs.

I am feeling very bag poor! I have one metallic clutch (reiss) for evenings/weddings, a mulberry elgin, campomaggi cross body and a marc jacobs slouchy tote for day. but the tote has worn SO badly it's now my travelling/india bag.

I am craving a slate grey balanciaga to add to this meagre collection but will take me an age to save up, not sure I have the stamina

my vote for amber's bag is the YSL cabas chyc. j'adore.

Annianni · 29/06/2013 11:17

Morning all...

Well I've had 2 compliments this morning... both dh and ds1 have said I look nice today Blush

I'm wearing the new enormous drapey pale grey marl Whistles Pattie top, a white vest underneath, with Hudson Beth's and Sam Edelman Gwyneth's.
Hair's reasonably straight and make-up on.

I'm taking the boys out while dh batten's out the attic.
He was supposed to be putting a velux window in, but he doesn't trust the weather forecast.
I've said it won't rain and to just get on with the damn thing ...so if it doesn't rain, then I've won and I get final say on things forever! :o

AmberNectarine · 29/06/2013 11:20

I have a decent bag collection but I always want more. I'm naughty really because I haven't actually decided on THE bag yet. There are three options, one of which has been mentioned, the other two have not. You'll have to wait til the big reveal in December. In the interim I intend to start a challenge of wearing a different outfit for the 140-odd days of my shopping ban.

Annianni · 29/06/2013 11:29

Ooh... can I suggest a Chanel boy bag for number 2 then Amber.

Annianni · 29/06/2013 11:33

and a PS1 as the 3rd?

I'm sat in the car, waiting for ds2 to wake up.
Ds1 is bored.

Annianni · 29/06/2013 11:57

Is anyone about?

Do I buy the Whistles cara jacket with the leather sleeves? It's £85 in the sale, reduced from £275.

I can take the plain canvas one back for a refund next week, which I also paid 85 for.

But this one's in Selfridges, so exchange only.

Not sure if the leather sleeves are a bit much on me!

shopafrolic · 29/06/2013 12:21

Hey Anni personally I think leather sleeves will date quicker so I'd stick with canvas.
Had a great time trying loads of stuff on in the DR sale but DH turned up which stopped me buying as much as I might like. Bought a tee which I will link later.
Anyone know cheapest place ATM for Paige Skylines and Hudson Baby Beths? I'm looking at you Anni jean bargain queen! :)

santamarianovella · 29/06/2013 12:48

hi all,

shop this happens to me all the time, its like my visa sends an alert to dh Angry but glad you bought the tee you were after.

queen poor u! but it must have been fun at the time!

gwen SA,sounds amazing, would love to go some day.

foxy its great that you get to wear the CE cargos more often, they look good, and you dont get to feel guilty about them.

amber my guess would be a balenciaga? although the very talented nicolas ghesquiere -the man responsible for all those lovely bags- has left

ani i agree with shop,im not a huge fan of leather sleeves.

i love bags, but i dont own a big collection,so at the moment i have a chloe paraty ,celine mini luggage, and an old hogan for day,and a miu miu and stella m clutches for going out,im after a crossbody bag, torn between chanel WOC and a bottega .will decide in september.

we are attending a wedding this evening, and i was told to expect to see lots of bling and tight designer dresses, cant wait!

Annianni · 29/06/2013 13:19

Ah... I feel like an idiot now cos I'd already bought it.

The other isn't canvas, it's khaki fabric and is a size 16 and a bit big.

This one's a 14 and fits better.

I'll try both at home and decide.
There is a bag I like, could swap it for that.

MrsRadicchio · 29/06/2013 13:54

Hi everyone! I am still about, just limiting time online due to some changes in the Radicchio household meaning I don't have any money to spend atm. Will post more fully later on but am looking forward to the meet up. Sleep will pm you to get details. Have told DH about it, he was bemused.

(PS Anni I like leather sleeves!)

shopafrolic · 29/06/2013 14:01

Don't feel like an idiot Anni if you love it, it doesn't matter what we think!
So, the Dressing Room was super busy with big queues for the changing rooms but the lovely staff helped me find loads of jeans to try.
Current Elliott great fit length wise and on the bum but the pattern made my thighs look bigger
Paige Skyline gorgeous but too big for me in a 30, no 29 available and they're black so Hopefully's voice was ringing in my ears telling me not to do it!
Paige Skyline peg jeans these were my favourites by far it the 30 was too big, 28 too small, no 29 :(
I can't find a link for the Hudsons I liked, Beth Baby Boots - really flattering on the bum and 2 buttons on the waistband meant they hold you in v well. I couldn't help thinking that someone had found them cheaper elsewhere? Anni do you have them?

Tops
American Vintage great colour on me but I needed a medium and they only had a small
[[http://www.the-dressingroom.com/item/Equipment/Brett-Python-Shirt-Fawn/33UT Equipment shirt] beautiful cotton shirt but the print needed to be stronger for me
Farhi just a beautiful basic top, much better IRL but it stayed on the hanger as I'll never fit an XS.
So I only bought
this tee which I'll wear lots with my biker. Had DH and DS not come to find me a pair of Paige or Hudsons would have come too! :)

Annianni · 29/06/2013 14:06

I've got Beth's Shop and they are big size wise. I can still fit in my 31's.

Yoox had some Hudson signatures for £50 ish, I tried them a couple of weeks ago and they are the same as Beth's but slightly wider at the hem.

HoF had some cheapish Beth's the other day, try there.

Annianni · 29/06/2013 14:08

I paid 50 ish in the Donna Ida final clearance for my Beth's Shop.

shopafrolic · 29/06/2013 14:15

Thanks Anni

LinusDKD · 29/06/2013 14:20

Donna Ida seems to have a limited sale on at the moment...

Drywhiteplease · 29/06/2013 15:17

one for Amber love it A LOT.
I tried some Paige skylines a few weeks ago and was v impressed

shopafrolic · 29/06/2013 15:47

Cocosa are selling the same Missoni shoes as Secret Sales but for triple the price - cheeky!

carrie74 · 29/06/2013 16:30

Hello again, all!

Nice denim Shop.

Foxy, those CE cargoes sound perfect for you Smile.

Well, I rarely get to bricks and mortar shops these days, but decided I wanted to hit the sales. Bought a basic leather black belt in Banana Republic, which needed to replace a horrible pleather one. Also Orange ballet flats. I have these in black, and they're a great fit, so though the orange might be a nice pop with navy cigarette pants for work. Quite cute with boyfriend jeans too.

Then, my downfall. Popped into Whistles concession, and zeroed in on this beauty grey but looks brown biker jacket. Doesn't someone else have this? sleep perhaps?. Was last in the shop, and in my size. Fate! I've been contemplating a leather biker for a few years now, and this one is so buttery, and I think £195 an excellent price.

And just to finish me off, 2 seam back Ts from Whistles in white and khaki (full price). Baaaaa! They're a lovely fit and feel though, aren't they?

I shall stick to Internet shopping from now on, it's much cheaper! Chiefly because I return so much.

This was delivered today, but I'm not sure on the colour or the bulbous sleeves. Will sleep on it hippy beige-y not white blouse

shopafrolic · 29/06/2013 17:32

Love the jacket Carrie - watch how you wash the seam back tees - I managed to get holes in mine!

foxysocks · 29/06/2013 17:57

ahh shop I found a hole in the back seam of my seam back tee (HA! whistles fail) this week. john lewis have told me to bring it in, was hoping for a swap but maybe I should ask for a refund if it's a common fault. so annoying, I love the shape and colour of that tee.

everyone needs a biker, carrie. good buy! all saints seem to have removed their 'archive' sale section, mine was from there for £100 down from £395! size 6, last one. fate as you say!

foxysocks · 29/06/2013 18:00

mig it might have been manuka? not sure if their stuff is all bamboo but some is manukalife.com/

DH taken DC on last minute camping trip. I declined Grin. have glass of viognier and lisicki/stosur, novak next! Tennis to go with my seabass linguine dinner and Wine. perfecto.
