Shopping when I am down is my downfall and I had a lot of debt in my 20's like Shop - never going back there. I am good at recognising it though...

shopafrolic · 28/06/2013 16:20

Liberty well done on the returns.
Just remembered I've got my third time lucky NaP Dagmar sweater due next week too Blush

GwendolynMoon · 28/06/2013 17:19

I am seriously missing exercise at the moment, with DS still waking to feed every 2 hours during the night I am just too knackered to make it to gym, even when DH is home to watch the child. Sigh.

In happier news I ordered some bits from the GAP sale:

This top

Great chat this afternoon.

So ankle showing it is, sexy in that Victorian frisson way......do you think I'll get lucky (like Mig with her shoulder flash) when DH gets in?Wink... And I'm half French! That's it then...ankles ahoy!

I swear by Sweaty Betty Foxy......so pretty. Would love to try yoga again ( at your MNV session) as I left my last class after falling asleep and snoring Blush...find it too easy to relax!

Drywhiteplease · 28/06/2013 17:29

Anni keep the boots, they're a classic and you'll live in them A/W

foxysocks · 28/06/2013 17:36

sleep you sound like you need ashtanga. I've nearly thrown up on a number of occasions and am regularly drenched in sweat. it's definitely NOT 'lying down yoga' Wink.

I think we do need an MNV workshop, haha.

mig it might be from this place? am debating trying their vests. www.bambooclothing.co.uk/category/for%20her?type=typeb

will look at sweaty betty, i have had stuff from them but it hasn't worn all that well. I practice 5/6 times a week so it needs to wear and wash brilliantly for me to be impressed.

Sleepwhenidie · 28/06/2013 18:00

re sportswear, I also definitely recommend Shockabsorber bras, but size up on band as they come up very tight. I ordered this gym top the other day (didn't think you guys would be so interested Smile), I find it so hard to find well fitting, flattering and functional gym wear, particularly in colours that aren't pink! For the gym I tend to live in a two/three year old orange Adidas/Stella M top that is fantastic but due to fall to bits due to overuse. I haven't found any other tops by her that I especially like the look of on me but the quality is great.

Foxy I would definitely be up for a go at asthanga, if I could only find a bit of time between kickboxing, the gym...oh and my family! A workshop sounds cool!

mignonette · 28/06/2013 18:06

Gwen I love the second sweater. Did you buy it in the mint as I see it comes in other shades. Those choices are fashionable and comfortable for you and baby to snuggle up to (and DH hopefully)

Dry it is in your DNA to do the ankle....You must be true to your Inner (and outer) Frenchwoman. Do you speak French? I do (Father lived in France) and really good Franglish too! Nous devons parler en French from temps to temps...

Foxy Not sure if that is the place or not. They came in soft faded pastels- pale lilac, cream and apricot and as a hooded cool down/warm up top and long vests and capped sleeve tops with rolled edges and no seams. The body was knitted in a tube shape.

Just had a brief shouty discussion with DH because yet again a customer has underpaid after stalling for weeks. Oy vay we can tell its the weekend starting- Friday night is such a washout in our house because we are all so tired. And the bloody 'puter has lost the plot and plays this recording of Yorkshire fishermen singing folk songs whilst fishing (do not ask-it was accidentally downloaded) and I cannot get rid of it till DS comes home and sorts it.

So have placated him with an Indian take out from tres swish local place.

Decameron · 28/06/2013 18:09

Foxy, I bought a sports bra in TK Maxx today, £7, this one. My friend gets 30% off Sweaty Betty as she is a yoga teacher, do you get that?

I collapsed after ashtanga yoga a few years ago, am definitely going to do it again when DD2 starts nursery.

Anni, definitely keep the boots.

Remembered it is our wedding anniversary next week (but obviously will pretend I hadn't forgotten!), DH did buy me a present a few weeks ago but that slips his mind, I'll ask for the blouse.

shopafrolic · 28/06/2013 18:14

Nice one Decam!

Drywhiteplease · 28/06/2013 18:19

Decameron that bra looks exactly the same as SB and a lot cheaper......shall look in TK

GwendolynMoon · 28/06/2013 18:28

Thanks Mig yes I got that sweater in mint Smile

I have found the gym stuff I've got from Sweaty Betty pretty good generally. Especially the running leggings.

OneLittleLady · 28/06/2013 18:32

Uni application is in! Now it's just a case of waiting to see if I get in.......

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 28/06/2013 18:49

Mig you make me Grin.

Don't get me started on underpaying, stalling customers...of the 25 invoices I sent out at the start of the month, SEVEN have been paid - just over 1/3 of the £ billed out. On Monday I will be sending out a further 25 invoices for June. We are owed ££££££ by stalling/evading customers.

QueenCadbury · 28/06/2013 18:50

Great chat everyone. Really interesting and makes me feel like I know you either though we've never met (roll on October!).

dry I have short legs too, about 30/31 and for me ankle grazers look better unless I have heels on. Rolled up jeans are my summer staple and black crops (7/8 ths) are my going out staple. Otherwise I look best in flared jeans with heels. I can't do skinnies and ankle boots.

Must go now as kids are beginning to play up. Out tonight, no idea what I'm wearing and need to pack to go away at the weekend.

great chat everyone.
sleep lovely purchases,dh and i definitely want one more child, but i would like to wait a few more months,i had a terrible pregnancy, bled a lot in the first trimester, and needed an emergency c-sec,DH was away so i went through it alone!to say that it left me traumatized is an understatement.
and i too love intense workout,i always say to my trainer that i want it to hurt! if i dont sweat or feel sore, then im not satisfied. to me its like therapy, really clears my mind.

ani you should not feel embarrassed to go to the gym,its not like its filled with models with perfect bodies . i live in a pretty posh area, and the gym i go to is filled with all kinds of body shapes.

shop i couldnt agree more,i never shop when im down,it usually ends in a disaster.my mum used to dress up,do her hair and makeup whenever she feels low,she says "at least i look good depressed" Grin.

LinusDKD · 28/06/2013 19:27

Wow, such a lot as been written today, it took me ages to catch up!

one good news on the uni application.

Grumpy I love those earrings but unfortunately I am too pale to wear turquoise. I love it on tanned skin in combination with white clothes. And that panama hat is fabulous.

Liberty enjoy your new shirt, I love Agnès B. I hope the GP was able to help you.

Anni big hug,I know how you feel. I have started watching what I eat this week and have nearly lost a kilo so that has given me courage to perservere. But re. excercise, that shred dvd is still in its wrapper. Blush

I am looking forward to swimming again once DD starts nursery in August. I am not very sporty but I like swimming as it is gentle excercise and I can let my mind wander whilst doing it.

Oh, and keep the boots if you love them that much!

Sleep that SbC dress is beautiful and I really love those leggings even though they are way out of my comfort zone.

We haven't completely ruled out DC 3 yet but even though my ovaries twitch when I see a pregnant woman my head says it wouldn't be a good idea.

DH travels a lot, we live far away from family and friends, I really don't deal with sleep deprivation well, I am not a natural breastfeeder and I will be 38 at the end of the year so I am not getting any younger, but we'll see.

Being a shortarse and a lazy arse I usually wear my trousers turned up Grin

Oh and the Stella and Dot necklaces arrived today (via a friend in the UK) and they are nice but maybe a bit too 'lightweight'. I will try them on properly with a nice outfit tomorrow.

Drywhiteplease · 28/06/2013 19:28

"Feel the burn" santa

Anni I go to my local gym during the day when it's full of ugly old people...makes me feel so beautiful!Wink.....honestly though I've never been to a gym and felt intimidated, you don't have to wear skin tight Lycra.....I used to hide in my yoga wide legged pants and t shirt like most of the women.

shopafrolic · 28/06/2013 19:35

Amber where did your tee come from that you are wearing with the Hudsons in your Dressing Room blog please?

mignonette · 28/06/2013 19:41

One the best of luck Smile

Grumpy yes...if they cannot afford the work, do not get it done Angry. It is such a headache and I am a little more hard nosed than DH who is probably too exhausted after a weeks work to start chasing debtors....

Anni my advice to you re gym insecurities? Move very fast and keep moving. Nobody will be able to focus on you if you are a blur. And I am sure that those few pounds that have become a source of niggling anxiety for you are so not apparent to others. And if somebody does give you the impression that they are judging you? Remember that it is usually generated from a discontented place within themselves. 80% of horrid behaviour is a projection in my opinion.

Queen have a good weekend. I have consumed too much Salmon Haliali and ginger potato cakes and look like I am about to deliver a bouncing food baby. Why does Indian food make me swell up like a puffer fish?

Who is going on holiday and where this year? What is your beach look? Mine is covered in sand, bored with sitting still and never glam.

shopafrolic · 28/06/2013 20:08

The only beach I'll be seeing this year will be Brighton if I'm lucky. Not sure a holiday is on the cards with DH new to his job.
Congrats to One and fingers crossed

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 28/06/2013 20:47

Looking forward to 10 days on the Western Algarve at the end of July. Hoping we may get away after christmas too - like to visit my parents in the US and angling for a runner or two in Dubai between Jan-March. If actual holidays are going to be a rarity, then I'm intent on racing horses abroad for a busman's holiday. Last year it was Sweden, Chantilly and Deauville and I had some really memorable weekends. If I won/inherited a shitload of money all I'd do would be travel. Have a real hankering for the Far East - Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo. One day, maybe.

libertychick · 28/06/2013 21:05

Holidays - a long weekend in 2 weeks time at home in north west Ireland - beautiful, wild, wind swept beaches with lots of yummy surfer boys Wink followed by a night in Dublin. We have also booked 10 days in Lanzarote in November so black beaches there. Will probably do a few long weekends in UK too and one of my friends has said she plans to book the two of us a girls night in Champneys or similar as her 40th birthday gift to me (yipee!).

Grumpy I love travelling too. Spent a year travelling sols when I was 28 - the day I retire I am off. South and Central America will be first port of call.

libertychick · 28/06/2013 21:06

'solo' not 'sols'....

Drywhiteplease · 28/06/2013 21:27

Feeling grumpy........if I had the guts I'd book myself into a day spa tomorrow and let them get on with it.....anyone fancy escaping for a day?

"Mum my phones not working"
"Mum the printers broken" call technical support....oh that's me
" I won't be home at 7.30 as promised, but 8.15" ....so your fillet steak, Stilton mushroom and Provençal tomatoe dinner will be cold then and I'll have drunk all the red
"Mum did you get the Pringles for the party tomorrow ?" you know that big building with trolleys outside,it's called a supermarket

Rolls down jeans, no ankle flashing tonight!Angry
