has Coast been done to death?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 16/06/2013 19:22

I don't know who Jane McDonald is. Both Debenhams ones look nice enough but too polyestery. Don't like that pale blue/grey thing. Do like the one shouldered but prob a bit too nightclubby.

I've got a proper black ballgown but don't want to wear it - I look like an Old Goth in it now and as if I should be wearing DMs with it. Not great. And totally disagree with investing in one ballgown thing anyway - they date horribly imho.

I do like the Coast one but it would be about three feet too long for me and cba with getting altered.

I like the shape of the Planet one and the colour would suit me, but don't like the combo of lace AND shiny AND purple.

You want a stretch pencil dress. IMO. Then diamonds.

EliotNess · 16/06/2013 19:30

Google Jane mcd. You'll laugh

tethersend · 16/06/2013 19:37

Here you go

MarianForrester · 16/06/2013 19:42

I think with the money that a lot of these cost, and your very particular requirements, you might be better to have a dress made. If it really suits you and is good fit would be money well spent.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 16/06/2013 19:49

Thank you, Tethers. I like that. :)

God no to getting one made. I hate going to the hairdresser even, so I'm not going to cope with somebody fiddling around measuring me etc.

I just want a nice, plainish dress that fits and won't make my tits look pneumatic. Surely that shouldn't be so difficult? :)

I don't think my link earlier worked?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 16/06/2013 19:55

I like this Is it too, too plain and boring?

OP posts:
RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 16/06/2013 19:56

It did, Accident. It's lovely, but I want to be able to wear a real bra, not strapless!

OP posts:
MrsLettuce · 16/06/2013 19:56

I've lost all track of links so maybe it's been done, but this comes in loads of colours. full length after all. Too shiny?

MrsLettuce · 16/06/2013 19:58

x post

If I'd seen that ghost dress on my travels I'd have expected you to write it off as a work drss. It looks very casual.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 16/06/2013 19:58

Love this but too high necked

OP posts:
RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 16/06/2013 19:59

Too shiny, Mrs L. Yes, the Ghost one is too ordinary, isn't it?

OP posts:
MrsLettuce · 16/06/2013 20:01

this (without the petticoat)? I think their only RL shop is london - obviously no idea where you are.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 16/06/2013 20:01

Love this but would look hideous on me

OP posts:
soaccidentprone · 16/06/2013 20:02

I think that the one mrs l posted is the right shape for you rlbg. Does this style suit you?

MrsCampbellBlack · 16/06/2013 20:02

www.matchesfashion.com/product/154102 I have this - tis gorgeous and super flattering.

Will be ones in local boutiques Wink to try on surely.

MrsLettuce · 16/06/2013 20:03

grr. Meant this what with the black being all shiny and all...

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 16/06/2013 20:03

Nice bottom, Mrs L (ooo er) but don't like the top.

OP posts:
MrsLettuce · 16/06/2013 20:04

That last one is lovely Remus - why would it look hideous on you exactly? Are you sure?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 16/06/2013 20:05

Mrs CB - lovely on you but wouldn't suit me due to short waist and norks - I'd just look matronly.
