Do not like the coast one- not too norky, just dull.

But classic shape is a goer. Will look.

And yes, on second look the metallic dresses would make anyone look like an Xmas turkey Grin

Sorry missed that you didn't want to do online. I agree re. the shop Grin.

I think it will be mixed, mostly short dresses but a couple of maxis (floaty rather than full on Oscar night maxis).

I really like the boring one.

I don't think any of these are really dressy enough for a ball.

I'd try Frasers - huge choice online and instore. Don't risk Coast, serious risk that you will have the same dress as someone elseShock. They seem to dominate the evening wear market along with Monsoon.

I agree with Marion about the risk of bumping in to someone else in a Coast, Monsoon, Phase 8 dress.

The purple and grey lace one is beautiful, but too high in the neck for such a pale colour and norks.

LKB black one is gorgeous - but tbh I could wear my VW in that case, as it's not that different.

Reiss too long and too work shaped - I'd look super-frumpy in it.

I made a pinterest board as I had the same issue, my ball is tomorrow night. Sadly I decided I couldn't afford a new dress so am wearing something I already have, but I tried on a couple and they were lovely, in particular the cutwork and bead dress from Karen Millen was gorgeous on.

Lovely, Tethers - but too worky I think.

Try it with an organza silvery shawl/thingy.
It's not expensive in the sale, but you'd wear it millions of times

Some nice one shoulder ones too, but not sure how you'd feel about that?

Don't like the short lacy one and deffo can't do strapless.

FWM one not doing much for me, sorry.

Agh! :)

you'd need to bling it loads but

good colourful accessories and have it taken up a little

gorgeous

but i think, unless the rules have completely changed (and yes it's been a while), a full length gown is expected at a ball and a shift dress is for dinner?

Ooh I actually like that FC maxi, but would need to shorten it by about three feet!
