I hope this is still acceptable!

Dresses are so, so short everywhere!

Leggings mean I don't have to fake tan Blush and keep me warm!

Will you be wearing leggings this summer?

Naebother · 25/05/2013 08:49

Varicose vein disgusting tights? Fuck no.

Fancydrawers · 25/05/2013 08:49

Am I the only person in the world who thinks leggings are fucking hideous and the work of Satan?

Naebother · 25/05/2013 08:50

Disguising. Disgusting. Whatever

Naebother · 25/05/2013 08:50

Fancy drawers would show through

PrincessOfChina · 25/05/2013 08:53

Tunics and leggings = fine
Dresses and leggings = not a chance, it totally ruins them and makes even the nicest dress look nasty.

I do, however, approve of jeans with dresses. I'm contrary, what can I say Grin

noddyholder · 25/05/2013 08:56

Footless tights sheer expensive ones I havecalways worn with heels and dresses in the evening. But leggings with summer dresses no! Leggings are for wearing with plimsolls and t shirts

EagleRiderDirk · 25/05/2013 08:58

I only wear long leggings under dresses, not Capri ones. I prefer leggings to footless tights as they cover more evils! Having said that I only wear leggings with tops/dresses that cover my backside too. And never white ones. I've yet to see white ones that weren't see through. When I was at a maternity check up last summer I saw a woman wearing white leggings, I coulkd see the labels, makes and size of the leggings and her undies Shock. She wasn't preggers BTW, just in the hospital.

fanoftheinvisibleman · 25/05/2013 08:59

I wear leggings under dresses. And for all but about 6 weeks of the year I wear them with DM's on my feet to complete the 'dated' look. Oh, and I love them so don't give a shit what anyone thinks Grin

And just to make the S & B brigade pass out, if it is really hot I put cheap primark flip flops on (in town )

I dress to suit me in clothes I genuinely like, not because someone has told me it is acceptable to like them for a time limited period.

ExcuseTypos · 25/05/2013 09:00

I don't personally, as I quite like my legs.

However , we are all different shapes and sizes, all have different hang ups. So just wear what suits you, and what you feel confident in. Don't worry about what anyone else thinks.

Yonionekanobe · 25/05/2013 09:02

Only if under 18 or pregnant.

Chandon · 25/05/2013 09:11

Oh, I wore leggings only yesterday. As it is sooo cold, and jeans are so boring.

I looked nice in the pub, most of my friends live in wellies and fleeces, even on a night out ( cold wet walk home).

It is quite liberating, living in the country.

We do not have to care what the fashion victim, city people think, running after every fashion trend whether it suits them or not.

Leggings under dresses can be o.k.

Chandon · 25/05/2013 09:13

The average londoner would look pretty silly in a field in Dorset, for example.

ExcuseTypos · 25/05/2013 09:20

I agree Chandon. It's one of the best things about living in the countryside, its very liberating not to have to worry.

I often go to the pub in my wellies.

MrsSchadenfreude · 25/05/2013 09:22

I will be wearing long thermal underwear if the weather doesn't improve soon.

JennyPiccolo · 25/05/2013 09:25

I will. Don't care about 'chavvy'. I have blonde hair and big boobs, so I wear a bit of a chav earring to stop myself looking mumsy.

Always black long leggings though. Shiny/patterned ones are for teenagers with perfect arses. Self coloured cotton ones in other colours are a bit per una for my tastes.my mum has brown onesConfused

RubyGates · 25/05/2013 09:33

Leggings + Dress or Tunic + Docs, Hi-Tops or flipflops. Sorted.

I spend a lot of time sitting on the ground with small children, leggings are an essenttial part of my wardrobe.

Or I might go with stripey tights and shorts this year for that 80's retro look. Having just found them at the back of my wardrobe.

nkf · 25/05/2013 09:34

But tunics and leggings looks like nightwear. I don't like that just below the bum top with leggings. It looks half dressed to me.

RubyGates · 25/05/2013 09:38

So much more convenient when you get home then Wink

nkf · 25/05/2013 09:41

Good thinking. Is that's what fashion writers mean by an outfit that takes you from day to night?

GobblersKnob · 25/05/2013 09:42

I wear shiny patterened leggings
I probably shouldn't be on this thread Grin

RubyGates · 25/05/2013 09:43

Yep! Grin

GobblersKnob · 25/05/2013 09:52

I am fully embracing being a student and truly not giving a toss,
if I like it I'm wearing it. It's very liberating Grin Am also sporting bright green metalic fingernails. Happy days.

freddiefrog · 25/05/2013 10:03

I don't wear leggings under dresses.

I wear either long maxis or dresses that finish just above my knee - below the knee my legs are fine, thighs less so

But personally, I'm just not keen on leggings under dresses. Tunics, yes, but I don't like anything longer than mid-thigh ish with leggings, and oh, how I've tried to pull of the look as I've seen so many lovely summer dresses that are just too short for me

Cooroo · 25/05/2013 10:05

I am terrible at fashion, and frightened by it. The passion aroused in some posters here just makes me more scared - whatever I wear, there will be people passing me in the street judging me and being horrified.

So yes, if it's cold I may wear dress with leggings (but usually jeans and a t-shirt). My legs are my best feature, so i'll get them out if the weather permits.

Blush Must confess I loathe Ugg boots (or things that look like them), especially on bare legs and bare sweaty feet, and do get a bit judgemental about that!
