I've got wooly tights. Nothing warmer than a pair of merino or alpaca tights.

I had no idea leggings under dresses was such a heinous fashion crime! FWIW, OP, I will definitely be wearing leggings under dresses this summer, and would even if I wasn't pregnant. How else can you wear nice summer dresses during the British summer?!

Yes. I wear long leggings (don't like shorter ones on me) with tunics or short dresses. I feel sexy in them too (been laughed at before for saying that - feel free to unleash mocking mirth again, ye of the judgy-pants), as I have good legs but a faulty thermostat so am always cold, especially at the moment. Tops with leggings (as a pp suggested) are out as I am usually bloated due to endometriosis and have no desire to exaggerate that with shorter clothing. And DH likes them too!

Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs is everyone's friend. It's light to 'wear', easy to apply and hides spider veins etc.

What's wrong with tights?

I find leggings make my legs look stumpy - I wear my tights with sneakers, but leggings would just look awful.

I have and do wear leggings, but prefer tights. But then again, I live in Scotland. It snowed yesterday.

Sorry, should've added that I only wear leggings with boots. Never sandals or sneakers.

God yes, when it gets reeeeely warm I might peel the leggings off but until then leggings all the way.

Meh, I still wear them. Long ones, usually in very dark grey or navy. The air con at work comes through the floor so I get arctic legs and a warm top. Nobody wants to see my blue, goose bumpy and probably hairy as fuck legs.

My legs are beyond hideous due to being completely covered in varicose veins but I've never found a dress that I think suits leggings.

Love a tunic and legging combo. Done well. Black or navy leggings to ankle work best.

Agree with previous poster that there is no difference between v short dress and tunic. Same thing isn't it?

Moosemama just wanted to give you a bit of a squeeze. balls to the naysayers- when the sun comes out, wear whatever you fancy, soak up the warmth & have good times with people who love you whatever your weight.

Long leggings to the ankle, always black. But that's only because my mum wears navy or dark grey leggings Cropped leggings with a dress make me look stumpy and I'm really not!

Oh and I wear shorter tops with leggings by adding a jersey miniskirt.

I wore some leggings last summer that were just above the knee... It looked fine. I'm just over 5 foot so stumpiness may be an issue, but so are my gross legs. Leggings felt like the lesser of two evils.
