Ooh, something to contribute! I've ordered these chinos in berry colour, which should arrive on Monday, so I'll let you know how they fit.

Some really terrible model pictures on the different colours, but the chinos themselves look ok.

Ooh hello Sleep !

So it's 32 deg here today. Am wearing black and white print sundress (that's my code for blimmin' short dress btw) which I got from last trip to Oz. it's halter neck and so so flattering. Today's jewelry is swaroski stacked gemstone rings, then a gorgeous gemstone bracelet that dh got me from Egypt. It's 22 carat gold and is 6 different gems linked with a small diamond on each side. Gems are amethyst, blue topaz and amber. I haven't worn it in about 5 years I had forgotten how much I adored this bracelet. I also have blue topaz set in gold earrings (again dh from Egypt!) and a blue topaz pendant that my friend got me for my 40th. White gold ankle bracelet (apparently from Dubai not Egypt), and gold watch that's set as a bangle, bought in Paris. (Err if anyone official is reading this we're not crims, dh is a total travel fiend and insisted We travelled a lot pre dcs. Good thing too!)

I am wearing the ever trusty havs but will swap for my Dune gemstone sandals. Will link later but they are amazingly comfy (I bought more for fashion than comfort!) and totally worth the £65.

Marsha, Hopefully, Amber, you're really making look forward to get together now. I shall have to wear at least one thing I have rabbited on about here!

Removing posh dress to jump in pool at 4am! Lunch in Chelsea!

My sartorial dilemma of the day....trainers or hiking boots to walk the dog in the woods.

Amber I have a pair of white chelsea boots that I bought last summer. My friends howled with laughter when the saw them. Hopefully I shall have the last laugh when they become uber fashionable.

Morning all. Like dry I am feeling a little bit jaded. About to take the dc swimming and then catch up on housework so my style today will be lounge wear (aka jogging bottoms)!

Sounds like you've all had really good weekends. Holidays, sheds and meet ups all sound very exciting. Gutted that I can't make the meet up so you are going to have to show me photos. I really want to see what everyone looks like!

Wore the red lipstick out again last night. Dh really does not like it and so I'm losing my confidence at wearing it. I definately need to order a pink and see if that's preferable to his tastes .

QueenC I'm sorry your DH is still having lipstick ishoos. How are you feeling about it, if you separate out his opinion (easier said than done)? We've been away since Friday, but will email you back tomorrow morning

I am feeling v frumpy today, due to hungover dressing in comfy-but-boring clothes. Dark teal skinnies feeling far too wintery, even though weather isn't warm today.

If I tell you please don't think he's a twat . Normally he has very little opinion but this red lipstick has really got to him. When I came back with it last week he told me it was ageing, then last night he told me it looks cheap and tarty! Very difficult to want to wear something when you're told that! It also makes me wonder what other people think about it as I haven't had any compliments and it's not like you can't notice it! hopefully I haven't yet ordered the pink. I've decided first that I'm going to go and try on a similar colour in a shop and see how it looks.

Oh QueenC I can't really do full on lipstick so not much advice.

queenC I love red lipstick on the right person, it can look v chic IMO ....think French black liquid eyeliner and red lips.....think it only looks cheap and tarty ( how very dare he ) if worn with porn star full on eye make up. I think the rule is dark eyes light lips, light eyes dark lips .

Also, like pinks, there are a lot of different reds out there.
Perhaps your DH just needs to get used to seeing you wearing it.

Oh and I'm looking v lovely in too long faded black track suit pants and a very out of shape grey sweatshirt, finished off with a fetching pair of M and S slippers.

My Whistles dress comes tomorrow...yey!

QueenC I think it can look great too. Did a quick search of red lipstick on pinterest and it can look fab. I just pinned a whole load. For make up ideas really.

The meet up sounds so good - really wishing I could come to the MNV one but I will be on the M6 that day waving to Anni and Drywhite. Slightly nervous though that I wouldn't meet the sartorial standard anyway so maybe just as well I have a bit longer to nail my look !

Sleep hope you are enjoying the Four Seasons - pool service is very important. DH and I did lots of SE Asia travel pre DD and I have very good memories of lying in the sun, sipping cocktails and ordering oysters just cause we could!

QueenC I don't think your DH sounds like a twat - he just sounds like he is a bit shocked. You said in a previous email he likes you best in hiking gear half way up a mountain so something like very bright lippy might make him feel you are suddenly not the woman he married. The strong reaction to it could just be a bit of insecurity. My DH went a bit funny this year when I started buying more clothes and making more of an effort with makeup etc going to work. It can feel threatening if you think the person you love is moving on or changing without you. I know it sounds dreadfully old fashioned but lots of men are sensitive souls and need reassurance that they are important to you. And you might feel a bit weird if he suddenly shaved his head or got his hair coloured or changed how he dressed. Appearance says a lot about what we think about ourselves and if he has fixed ideas about what red lippy means he might not be able to make the mental leap beyond that to just thinking about it as a colour that suits some people and doesn't suit others!

QueenC, Liberty pretty much said word for word what I was going to say. I am willing to put money on you looking nice with the red lippy and he not being complimentary because he thinks it isn't "you" because he has a fixed idea in his mind of who "you" are. Doesn't make him a twat just human I guess. It's a bit like when people lose weight and think they will get lots of compliments only to find people telling them they look gaunt, the weight doesn't suit them etc etc

Andimac would love to hear the feedback on the chinos. I think I might order those - debating if I need to get 12 or a 14 so some feedback would be great.
