You are probably noticing them more as you are on your own Shop - hope you sleep well.

Bob (since that what Travelin called you!) try banana republic

shopafrolic · 05/05/2013 21:28

You're probably right Liberty. It's just Bank Holiday revellers at the local pub.
Welcome Bob I don't wear cardigans so can't help too much I'm afraid, I tend to wear jersey blazers instead.

whataboutbob · 05/05/2013 21:29

Yes please call me Bob. They are both good ideas, thanks. Mid range is what I'm after, hadn t thought of Banana Republic they do good basics.

MacaYoniAndCheese · 05/05/2013 21:31

Hi Bob and Welcome! I love American Apparel and J. Crew Cardies. Both well-made and relatively well-priced. Not too trendy, nor too mumsy iykwim. Also, I used to think that cashmere was a ridiculous luxury but now I'm convinced that it's just good value as it lasts WAY longer than wool/cotton and feels and looks nicer (That's my story and I'm sticking to it Wink ). Just something to consider Smile.

Hopefully · 05/05/2013 21:34

American apparel gets my vote. And also I gather that woolovers have really plain cardigans that are good quality. Don't know what the cut's like, but good prices for cashmere/merino etc.

We have just watched Jack Reacher. I am left slightly perplexed, but I think I enjoyed it.

santamarianovella · 05/05/2013 21:40

shop, I think only the teens and models are able to achieve flat tummy while sitting down, and I'm [ envy] at your long legs.
And I agree ,that dress is gorgeous linus,
I think we all are self conscious about are bodies,I don't like my hips,I'm small- chested,if only I could transfer fat from one part to the other!

MarshaBrady · 05/05/2013 21:46

Hopefully we saw that the other week. The weird thing is I can't remember it at all. Just asked dh what it was about, he can't remember either. Might be his too strong g&t.

Am watching Notes on a Scandal. So good. Cate Blanchett is fab.

libertychick · 05/05/2013 22:00

So practically every week there is something in ST Style supplement that I want and this week I have given in and just ordered it straight away - Zara Dalmatian print coat and while I was there and had free delivery now anyway I also threw in this bag.

I was very tempted by this gold leather bag and would have grabbed it in silver.

On swimsuits I have found good ones in John Lewis before but for the last few holidays I have gone for (short) board shorts and a bikini top - the shorts give a bit more coverage and for some reason having some tummy exposed makes me feel more like I am on holiday! Then just pop on a t-shirt when you want to stroll around or sit up! I think one of the few benefits of having been fat as a teenager and in my twenties is I have low expectations in terms of how good I expect to look in this type of attire!

Hopefully · 05/05/2013 22:01

I had a G&T earlier too Marsha. Maybe it reacts badly with Jack Reacher Grin

MarshaBrady · 05/05/2013 22:04

Ha Hopefully Grin

Lovely Zara stuff Liberty, I forgot to get the ST Style, darn.

whataboutbob · 05/05/2013 22:06

Thanks Maca and Hopefully. This is a fun thread I think I ll be returning (smile).

MarshaBrady · 05/05/2013 22:10

Hi Bob yes stick around Smile. I can't think of anything better than those, don't know what dh was thinking I only had half the drink, complete mind wipe.

libertychick · 05/05/2013 22:15

It wasn't that great this week Marsha and Shane Watson has unbelievably only just discovered scarves! I think she needs to start reading MNV!!!

But I am now going Zara crazy - can someone who suits these colours please buy this totally bargainous 100% silk shirt dress and go on holidays somewhere exotic please?

It may be obvious that I have had TWO wine spritzers tonight - living it up!!!

MrsRadicchio · 05/05/2013 22:18

Liberty I've been looking at the ST style today as well. Don't think it was today's but I liked this necklace I also really like that coat (and bag!)

Bob welcome. I've got a lot of cardigans in my wardrobe but have not been wearing them much for a while. Trying to think where from but all over really. I have bought a jumper from Woolovers and thought it was pretty good. As Hopefully says, good price for the material.

Argh got to go, DS2 is awake!

shopafrolic · 05/05/2013 22:18

Am in bed on BB so can't easily see links. Reading June Harpers Bazaar. The Erin O'Connor shoot modelling Dior Couture is just stunning. She looks amazing.

Grin at cleaner's overalls!!! Very true! But has potential...

I find cashmere/silk or cashmere/merino mixes work best for me. I have an M&S cashmere cardi I have worn loads and it hasn't bobbled but has gone very 'fuzzy' - I think Dona said once many, many MNV threads ago that her cashmere ended up looking like a cat's blanket and that is exactly what this particular cardi has done - that said I am still wearing it!

Great necklace Mrs R - the name of the website made me laugh too!

MarshaBrady · 05/05/2013 22:30

Erin O'Connor used to use our Sainsbury's, I'd joke to dh that I saw his friend and she said hello. I remember seeing a documentary about her when younger, she looked amazing. Especially in couture.

MarshaBrady · 05/05/2013 22:40

I've got a back log of cashmere to hand wash am avoiding it. Perhaps a bank holiday Monday is a good day to do it.

shopafrolic · 05/05/2013 22:46

Definitely one of my girl crushes.

OneLittleLady · 05/05/2013 22:46

Trying to convince DP that I need an Alexander McQueen skull cuff but he isn't buying it. He's told me to put it on my christmas list for ideas. I may save up and buy it for myself to be honest.

shopafrolic · 05/05/2013 22:47

Marsha I won't allow cashmere washing when temps are set to hit 22 degrees tomorrow. Get out and enjoy the sunshine!

MarshaBrady · 05/05/2013 22:49

Haha thanks Shop am free Grin. 22 tomorrow? Excellent.

OneLittle can you link or it may sell out.
