We've taken ds2 to the zoo on both of his birthdays (he loves it) and we're members.

Next year, we're going to pay extra to feed the giraffes (his favourites)

Our local zoo let's you feed/pet some of the animals.

Hope you feel better soon QueenC

I'm in bed with a horrendous headache, had it since yesterday :(

foxysocks · 05/05/2013 09:40

Oh queen c poor you, hope you are feeling better today

Drywhite - disaster! Glad you had champers.

Love those flats shop, esp the yellow. Still loving the DvF this morning, maybe will run options past DH later and see what he thinks. DD loved them, natch, I would be dressed head to toe in pink and yellow if she had her way.

foxysocks · 05/05/2013 09:42

Also, can I mention bikinis?! I only have one and its ten years old. Need another for the summer, thinking bandeau to avoid strap marks. Anyone tried any on yet? Considering mammoth asos order to avoid the changing rooms of hell.

santamarianovella · 05/05/2013 10:23

morning all,
queeni hope you are both doing better.
i love the idea of birthdays at the zoo, we might take dd,she is not the pink, princessy kind of girl so this might do.
i have a couple foxy, they are the one with removable straps,i took a smaller size top as i am small chested.

QueenCadbury · 05/05/2013 10:57

Thanks all for the get well wishes.

novic my dd is 2 in a month too. As a third child we have everything too. So far she I've got her some peppa pig socks. We're going to go for tea after school and then go out on the Saturday. The hardest is when family ask for ideas.

foxy last year I bought a load of bikinis from figleaves to try on. I like them as they do lots of tops in your bra size.

drywhite I definately would have roasted the dog Grin

QueenCadbury · 05/05/2013 10:59

anni I had a headache like that recently just before my period started. Apparantly it's a common perimenopausal symptom. Migraleve was the only thing that worked for me.

BrandyAlexander · 05/05/2013 11:24

Oh ladies, thank you. we are taking the kids to Thomas land in early July. Would love to have taken him on his birthday but as its more than a day trip, dh would get grumpy! However I hadn't thought of doing a day trip on his birthday. We're going to take him to the zoo. Great ideas, thank you x

QueenCadbury · 05/05/2013 13:37

Is that thomasland at Drayton manor? My kids loved it there!

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 05/05/2013 13:52

I am seriously considering banning myself from this thread. After purchasing not one but four dresses,a bikini, sunglasses and a Comptoir des Cottoniers cardigan (yes, I did buy it of course) this weekend, shop goes and links to those beautiful flats and now i want a pair in yellow, orange and turquoise.

BrandyAlexander · 05/05/2013 14:09

Hi QueenC, yes that's right in Drayton Manor. We will drive up there and stay overnight at the hotel (haven't booked it yet its one of my jobs for this weekend!). Great to hear your dcs loved it!

BrandyAlexander · 05/05/2013 14:13

No, you have to stay Grumpy!! Your links are fantastic.Smile I am not on a ban but on a slow down this month since we got this months 5 figure credit card bill ( the jewelry I went nuts on). Every time I say that on this thread it goes haywire!

LinusDKD · 05/05/2013 14:14

Bikinis...

I have been trying to avoid thinking about them and as the weather has been so horrible I have succeeded up until now.

I have 2 lovely Eres bikinis I bought for our honeymoon but after 2 DC (DD was born 6 months ago) I doubt even they can draw attention away from my mummy tummy.

So I think for this summer at least I will have to buy a swimsuit or a tankini. Where does a short, pear-shaped woman in her late thirties find one of those that doesn't look too frumpy?

shopafrolic · 05/05/2013 14:30

Hi all, so I dragged myself over to my nearest LKB store, waited dutifully at the door until they opened at 11am and they didn't have the sodding flats! More likely in London stores apparently. So will have to order orange, yellow and turquoise to try at home.
Wore the Me&em maxi with my Havs, snot on shoulder and a tiny pull in the skirt already. Not looking too toddler friendly it has to be said but I love it and will persevere......
DH got to the airport safely and called to say he's got all the bits I'd asked for from duty free which is lovely. Hope you're all enjoying your bank holiday weekends

Shop The orange and yellow are best, IMO, having seen them in RL. The turquoise was kind of a flimsy colour, iykwim. I liked the yellow best Smile.

I am wearing my M&S slouchy t-shirt, and contemplating ordering another - I have been avoiding wearing it as it is such a perfect drape that I am paranoid about spilling something on it or damaging it. It's so cheap that it seems silly not to, when it is v useful with a million or so outfits.

santamarianovella · 05/05/2013 14:42

linus dont get a tankini, they never look good, a swimsuit sounds better.
i like the designs of lisa marie fernandez very sporty chic . zimmermann ones are nice and flattering.

shopafrolic · 05/05/2013 14:46

Just went to order the orange, yellow and coral to try Hopefully and they only go up to a size 40! Checked my other LKB shoes and they are 41 - so no yummy flats for me. Someone is conspiring against me. I've emailed their customer service to see if they have them in a 41 and where my nearest stockist might be. Did you see them when you were in London?

shopafrolic · 05/05/2013 14:46

And agree M&S tee is fab Flowers

foxysocks · 05/05/2013 14:56

You are not going ANYWHERE grumpy

Report back on flats please shop!

Have a basket full of bikinis on asos. Think I'll go for mix and match as I need more tops than bottoms to wear with hotpants. matches and outnet baskets also open. What do I do?!?! Grin

foxysocks · 05/05/2013 14:56

Oh no, cross posts. Hope you track them down.

LinusDKD · 05/05/2013 15:31

I think I have found the perfect swimsuit:

www.asos.com/ASOS/ASOS-Studded-Fringed-Swimsuit/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=2843618&cid=10118&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=-1&sort=-1&clr=Black

The fringes will hide my tummy and the studs will offset my sunburn nicely.

It will be a challenge getting DC snot and vomit out of the fringes, but I think it will be worth it. Wink

Which M&S tee? (Not that they deliver to the country I live in)

Annianni · 05/05/2013 15:33

Thanks QueenC, I feel a bit better now.
It feels like a bad hangover. But I haven't drunk alcohol for weeks.
The light hurts my eyes etc and I feel drained.

Why don't you buy another cream tee Hopefully? I usually do, when I find a perfect one (if it's cheap enough)

Nothing worse than noticing a stain on your top, as you're about to leave.
And i'm my ds's are mucky pups :o

shopafrolic · 05/05/2013 15:55

M&S tee

OP posts:
shopafrolic · 05/05/2013 16:06

shopafrolic · 05/05/2013 16:07

Grumpy that's exactly why you should be on this thread. And please buy them, I can't (it would seem) so someone must.
