(((Shop))) we are all here for you while he is away x

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 04/05/2013 17:13

Love those yellow flats Foxy.

Can I just ask, what's the opinion on this?

BrandyAlexander · 04/05/2013 17:23

Oh sorry Shop! We will all do links while he's away to cheer you up. One of the things I like about this thread is that it's s&b chat and general chit chat so we will all keep you company.

Grumpy, I like that cardigan for being Chanel-esque but its one of those I think would look a horror on me as I am short and hour glass. Think it really depends on body shape!

Love it grumpy, gorgeous!

MarshaBrady · 04/05/2013 17:47

Grumpy I really like it too.

shopafrolic · 04/05/2013 17:54

It's lovely Grumpy
Have just had a couple of hours all of us digging and messing around in the garden so feel happier!
Thanks for the support and hugs. It is lovely having you all for company on evenings home alone! I'm not much of a chatter to friends by phone, much prefer face to face, so evenings can be quiet. Nice to know there are people around on this thread!
Fingers crossed for sunshine tomorrow. DS and I are off to the parents for lunch so hopefully I can wear the new maxi, and then get legs out on Monday

yy Shop we'll keep you company, lovely. Links and chat and all that stuff.

McNally · 04/05/2013 17:59

Thanks for all the DD birthday good wishes. I tried to keep toddlers wielding cake away from the cream carpets but failed Dry. Just had a champagne fuelled cleaning session with the vanish.

Had planned to wear a dress for the party (old faithful Banana Republic cobalt and black) but ran out of time and ended up in dark James jeans and neon pink Gap t shirt. Dress would have been a nightmare. Do not know what I was thinking. There would have been a lot of knicker flashing going on Blush.

Really love those DVF flats Foxy.

Like the cardigan Grumpy. I tried on a couple of similar ones in Comptoir in the week but didn't see that one unfortunately. Like novice, I don't think the shape really suits me sadly and I would need to think carefully about what else to wear to avoid looking old ladyish.

AmberNectarine · 04/05/2013 18:05

cheaper yellow flats

shopafrolic · 04/05/2013 18:09

Mental note to ignore DS January birthday and hold summer birthday party for him outside! Hope the carpet comes up ok McNally I should think you're exhausted.

MrsR I'm open to any suggestions, but definitely not black. Cream and dark brown would be ideal, but almost anything considered!

Foxy those yellow flats are lovely.

Had a Zara trip earlier. The lovely blue kimono wasn't there, but tried a couple of others, will link later. I bought a tulip skirt which I love, but I am vaguely thinking I should have sized up for extra summer relaxedness. Might pop back tomorrow. And a fab necklace, really big and chunky.

Topazandpearl · 04/05/2013 18:48

They are lovely Amber, just wish I could wear sling backs. I like them in pink as well.
Shop, my DH has just been in the US for a week. I find I get into a different rhythm when he is away. When the DC were younger, we would eat earlier and when they were in bed, I would catch up on all the trashy progs on TV (that I quite like really Blush).
Now DS is away at uni and DD is either studying (A2student), socialising or at work, I spend the evenings catching up on work, lurking here or watching trash on TV (that hasn't changed!) You will have plenty of company here.

LinusDKD · 04/05/2013 19:19

I am also tempted to have DS next birthday party in the summer instead of in January! 10 toddlers high on sugar running around the house still gives me nightmares.

Some more purchases I made since following all of you. Sorry for the long links (don't know how to link properly)

After someone on here recommended an Asos tee she bought I had a look if they had something similar but with a v-neck and so far I am very happy with it:

I bought this mac on the Hobbs website at a discount and I have been wearing it every day since as the weather has been rubbish.

www.asos.com/NW3/NW3-Birch-Mac-Coat/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=2738406&WT.ac=rec_viewed

This dress in black, so flattering. I am really happy I discovered this brand on here, I could buy half the stuff on their website.

www.meandem.com/sale/winter-clearance/v-neck-box-pleat-dress_c/products_id/1277/cPath/876_923_924

I am still waiting for two dresses from Atterley Road and the Boden navy/ecru crochet jacket somebody on here recommended.

Oh and today I picked up a parcel at the post office the contents of which will probably have me banned from MNV for life: white linen trousers.Shock

I LOVE those yellow DVF flats! I tried on the Sam Edelman Gigi's in a similar yellow but went for the cobalt in the end as the yellow looked odd on my very pale feet.

My DH travels a lot as well and now that we have children I find it much harder to cope with, especially since we live abroad so don't have any family to help out.

Every other week he spends two nights away from home and we both hate it but it's part of his job so we have no choice. He's off again tomorrow evening which I hate even more as it's a Sunday.

My new bag crush:

foxysocks · 04/05/2013 19:27

i have a pathological hatred of slingbacks, i absolutely cannot buy or wear them

MarshaBrady · 04/05/2013 19:28

Ha me too Foxy, we will have to throw on the pile with the cowl necks.

Linus I love all the stuff you've bought.

shopafrolic · 04/05/2013 19:29

More lovely things Linus
I know what you mean about Sunday travel too - I really resent the fact that his job has taken away our family time for Sunday and the Bank Holiday Monday.

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 04/05/2013 19:29

I can't go anywhere on a Sunday night, reminds me too much of the school bus back to boarding school . Has to be any other time.

Hopefully · 04/05/2013 19:31

Also can't do slingbacks, but those flats are nice too amber.

I tried on this kimono and it was nice, but too fussy for me, and also another one that was kind of a waterfall jacket shape (I think similar to this one, but more colourful).

Keira looked bloody awesome IMO, a really genuinely cool wedding outfit. So many slebs do faux-casual/cool, and I think she really dressed like herself.

MarshaBrady · 04/05/2013 19:33

She looked good. But Rosie HW looked amazing too, without make up. Very prettty. (I got locked in the side bar of shame)

foxysocks · 04/05/2013 19:36

gorgeous celine linus but is it really tiny?! i would never cope with a bag that small.

we have an anniversary coming up this month, wonder if I can wangle a present. ESP as i'm doing the dutiful wife thing next weekend and going CAMPING for DH birthday weekend . he is going to owe me big time...

AmberNectarine · 04/05/2013 19:46

Did a bit of shopping for DD today. She has gone to bed rocking a Peppa Pig rainbow stripe onesie - its as awful as it sounds, but she looks sooo cute. Also these high tops which she picked out herself

foxysocks · 04/05/2013 19:49

check these hopefully! not leggings but they are fab

aw amber those high tops are super cute

shopafrolic · 04/05/2013 19:54

Aaas like mother like daughter Amber so cute!
Loved Keira's look. Very her. Will now end up trawling DM site for hours!
