Yay for Mr & Mrs Shop - wonderful news!

No word of a lie, I read a feature in a magazine today citing white ankle boots as a summer essential. So that's you lot told.

Topazandpearl · 25/04/2013 21:13

Well done to you both Shop, I'm sure your support was very instrumental to your DH's success. You have both been through the wringer so take the time to enjoy this. I am so pleased for you both (and you can stop sitting on your hands soon!!)

shopafrolic · 25/04/2013 21:16

I won't believe it without a link! Wink

Fantastic news Shop - v well done to your DH - I wondered several times today if he got it!! Am having a Wine for you Smile

Drywhiteplease · 25/04/2013 21:43

shop Wine fantastic news! I switch off for a day and it's all gone bonkers on here. I love this thread ( and I'm not pissed yet....that'll be tomorrow at "do"... I go anywhere for free bubbles!!Grin)
shop boo insurance sods, yey for old guy being ok and your heroic actions....and I love that whatever-navy cotton jumper.
Foxy I'm miles from any JL store and recently discovered the Waitrose collect thing....fantastic! The bright blue scarf is lovely and would match mt Coast dress. Bras are a nightmare for me too. 32a, practically impossible to find. I bought a v cheap padded Primani one before my hols.....so padded it feels as if I've a foreign body in my top stiff as heck.....hideous!
Annianni LALALALA to southern weather boasters too.......

The Coast dress arrived today. I was hoping it would be horrid but my god it's lovely, really gorgeous actually, feels like silk. Waiting for the Whistles dress and then will have to decide....it's going to be difficult. I love " occasion wear". Love getting dressed up. Must be a bit sad, and probably the only person on MN to prefer OW to jeans!!!!

Sorry for ramble....one last question. Getting dressed up tomorrow ( black Zara body con shift dress with spanks of course to add extra glamour!!) what nail colour? I'm not a brighs person. Err more to darks or sludge. Would a mid grey be too wintry?

I have
this pale pink
Seems a bit tame or is it just elegant??
Or
this, an iridescenturple grey
Or
this, currently looking nice on toes but is it a bit meh on hands

libertychick · 25/04/2013 22:25

Oh just realised cross post. The second one is lovely Drywhite.

MrsRadicchio · 25/04/2013 22:27

Ooh, I missed all the excitement and drunken posting!

Great news Shop, hope you and your DH have a celebration planned. What a story about Dennis! Do you think you will go for the job in the end? Sounds like a good deal in terms of the hours and dipping your toe back in.

Blog post on quilted sweaters

Foxy I like the look of the slouchy stiletto jeans. Can't do a low ish rise though. I like the containment of a high rise. I was a bit horrified to see how much polyester they contain (I was looking at a pair on shopbop).

Amber liked your post on the brogues. I've ordered in white but actually also really like the colour you are wearing in the post.

Sorry Drywhite am no good with nail stuff. I really like that mushroomy grey colour that has been popular recently. Or pillar box red but agree both a bit wintery. Enjoy your night out...I like glamming up but never get the chance these days!

Let us know how the ebay purchases work out hopefully - I never do that well on ebay. Always get excited by how cheap stuff is, but then find it is not quite right when it arrives. Have wasted a lot of £ that way. It is so addictive though! Am now only getting stuff from there which is refundable or that I have tried on elsewhere.

Drywhiteplease · 25/04/2013 22:52

Ok....no 2 it is, thanks all

pickledsiblings · 26/04/2013 00:39

Shop, huge congrats to you and your DH. Success all round it seems. If you've nothing to lose by doing those few days then it might be a good idea even just for making contacts and keeping abreast of things in your field.

Amber, the white pistols are awful, I prefer your cowboy boots. The thing is, clever styling can make most things work. I wore a Pin inspired outfit tonight and felt great - I never would have put chambray shirt and cream with bright floral print pencil skirt together but it worked, even on me.

I love the Goldsign chain, wonder who'll end up with them...

Annianni · 26/04/2013 07:15

20% off at office with the code

TWENTY

Decameron · 26/04/2013 07:36

Wearing my Goldsigns now, they are 33", the perfect length for me. I need another pair. Spent ages listing my Phil & Teds for eBay so got to get that sold first. And before DH mentions the Coach bag. Wink

Your outfit sounds great, Pickled.

I can't believe the change in the weather. No flip flops today!

Annianni · 26/04/2013 08:45

I'm in Goldsign today too, the frontier crop ones. With the Gap neon coral sweater I got last week... that dh even commented on, saying it was nice.

I said thanks... you bought it me last week :o

I listed about 10 things on ebay yesterday, and 2 have bids already which I wasn't expecting.

We've got sunny spells today, so I think we'll go and feed the ducks.

What's everyone else up to?

shopafrolic · 26/04/2013 08:57

Bonkers weather. 21 degrees yesterday, 12 today! Making the most of DH being with us for a week or so more before he starts work so we'll have a family day, perhaps the Zoo. He's having a lie in - he deserves it! I like that blog MrsR had been pinning their stuff without realising it was a blog too!

The office 20% is just off office own brand.
I've just read the email properly.

FrugalFashionista · 26/04/2013 09:12

No longer able to keep up here but massive congratulations to the Shop family - fantastic!!! Your personal work prospects sound great too - I returned to work P/T (two days per week) after DD2 2.5 years ago, it made sense as I worked Mon and Wed and then had a long weekend to catch up on housework. It's a big transition and my work can be very hectic so re-entering gradually was a good idea. I've had many, many years of PT work but only brief total absences from my workplace and I think it has been very good for my career development. People have remembered me, I've been a part of the grapevine, and I even got promoted while I was on family leave because someone remembered to tip me off.

Mrs Radicchio I really like South Molton St - she has a good eye for the key new items and the essentials section and her blogroll are both great too. Love the quilted sweaters!

Hopefully · 26/04/2013 09:28

Anni well done on eBay - I need to get on and list stuff that I'm not using, especially now I've bought new stuff!

Shop enjoy your family time Smile

Chillier than it looked out of the window, but am consoled by the fact that my new eBay cream BCBG cardigan looks awesome as I shiverGrin

Hopefully · 26/04/2013 09:48

Right. White jeans owners. What do you put on your feet that isn't court shoes or flip flops?

foxysocks · 26/04/2013 10:16

i don't own them yet hopefully but will wear with sandals - silver or tan - trainers, and flip flops

the ones I've found are 5% polyester, 94% cotton, 1% spandex. is that a lot? i don't think any of my other jeans have poly in them. it's a bit off putting.

I'm hoping to find some off white/warm white ones - stark white would be hideous on me - but had no idea what to pair them with! Am frightened of jeans and trainers. Need to go browse Pinterest...
