I bet you look fab QueenC I'll bet it's just the shock of seeing yourself in something so bright if you've tended to stick to darker colours before

MarshaBrady · 24/04/2013 08:23

Am in a square with an espresso. Lovely. Have bare legs today bit chilly but should warm up.

Pale Sandro mini, white shirt, APC apricot jumper, Bruno tweed jacket, flats and orange Celine for zing. Must remember interviews are about more than lovely mornings where I get to run out the door unencumbered and have silent espressos in sunshine, there's the actual work too Grin.

Decam hope your dd is better soon.

Pickled I did Quidco but not the shirt, faltered at last minute.

Hopefully · 24/04/2013 08:57

Yay QueenC I bet you look amazing.

Marsha you mean there's more to work than just enjoying a coffee in peace? Say it isn't so!

I have had to abandon all my plans today for a pressing bit of work that needs doing right now, so am, naturally, faffing around on here before getting stuck into it.

QueenCadbury · 24/04/2013 09:27

Wahay, i had to take my coat off as I was hot and I got a compliment. So happy Grin

pickledsiblings · 24/04/2013 09:37

Fingers crossed OneLittleLady for some decent sunnies this year.

Decam, scarves are great for livening up an outfit. What percentage of yours do you wear? I tend to stick to the same one or two. Hope the Dr can help DD2 on Friday. If it is a virus it'll probably disappear as quickly as it came with a bit of luck.

Marsha, outfit sounds lovely, best of luck with your business breakfast Smile.

Queen, I wore my J Brand blue bonnets on the school run this morning and I'm not even sure they're my colour. No one even cast a side-ways glance. Wear your cerise cardi with pride and a big smile.

shopafrolic · 24/04/2013 09:38

Love that jacket Pickled - the arms look short on the model though. I might have to try that when things are sorted. And Hopefully those shoes are great too!

Morning everyone. I have just sat down for a sec after mammoth school run, usually DH share it, he takes DS1 who starts at 8am, then I get the other two to school then nursery, but DH away this week so I have to get all 3 ready for 7.40am in the car, then home for 40 mins. You'd think the 40 mins would mean calm and organised departure for school but it never is. Quite exhausting! Have had a quick coffee, now off to get my fringe trimmed, post a few bits then the gym. Afterwards packing for Doha and for the kids this weekend with DH, think he is taking them to see his family while I am away though it would be much more interesting if he dealt with them by himself for four days Grin

Marsha you sound like you should be in a square in Florence Grin, outfit sounds gorgeous.

Tried on a few white blazers in town yesterday, didn't get to Zara but I liked the Massimo Dutti linen one a lot. 8 was a little tight under the arms and they didnt have a 10 so I didn't buy. Am I crazy considering dry clean only (even the Zara on is dco) white jackets Confused?

shopafrolic · 24/04/2013 09:44

Is this the same jacket but named differently do you think?

On the sunglasses front - I have had several pairs of designer frames made into prescription sunnies but it has been very hit and miss. Something to do with the size of the lens and the curvature. I had a pair of Dior ones fitted and depending on whether I was looking up, down or straight ahead my vision was often blurred and the optician wouldn't refund. I'm very cautious about this now.....I'll be interested to hear more about coating?

Sleep, my DH's mum always used to come and visit here when I went away for the w/e when the DC were little. Your DH is one up from this, so credit where credit is due Smile. I sometimes have to take the 2 boys with me to drop DD off and then it's back home for some time before school for them. I tend to just let them sleep as long as possible, get them into the car in their pjs (no breakfast) and then fill the time when we get back with breakfast and getting ready rather than having time to kill - it works for me.

foxysocks · 24/04/2013 11:38

oh thanks santa, I am also an 8 and was dithering over XS/S. sounds like XS is the way to go. is it fairly long? it sounds it from reviews. i'm 5'9 so sometimes length can be an issue (fnar).

chan luu dithering all round hey liberty and hopefully! i spent a while googling last night and there are definitely cheaper options around, but then there's the whole issue of not actually liking/wearing it as much as if you'd just gone for the £££ in the first place. £150 though! it's a heinous amount of money for a scarf.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 24/04/2013 12:00

Good morning all. Love those shoes Hopefully and I think I agree that the orange are the nicest, although the others are lovely too. Been eyeing up Havaianas on Amazon too and can't decide between red/bordeaux and the metallic sand grey. The trouble with the lighter colours is you can always see where your foot has been after a few wears and that bugs me a bit - like you've worn them with dirty feet!

santamarianovella · 24/04/2013 12:27

im 5"5 ,and if i wear it untucked i have to wear it with heels as it is a bit long, but im sure you can pull it off with your height,i read some of the reviews last night, and yes the back is longer ,but to me it gives a nicer shape when wearing it loose or untucked.
i tried the current elliot shirt last year and it was heavenly but it was way too expensive for a denim shirt, and i find the madewell one a second best.

chan luu scarves are overpriced for the quality you get IMO.you can find very similar ones at the white company.

Hopefully · 24/04/2013 13:15

Foxy £150 is insane for a scarf. BUT. Because it's silk/cashmere, I find it works in just about any weather though (not too hot now the weather is warming up). It also possesses the whole grail combination of 100% natural fibres, very light weight and ginormous size. Plus yummy colours.

MarshaBrady · 24/04/2013 13:28

Hello lovely voguettes. Interview went well, have the second one on Monday already which is good.

Have been laughing as reading this at Shop for realising there's actual work, I get that! Grin and Foxy for size comment .

I have been doing minimal stuff over last eight years so can keep career barely there, so I get the luxury of the interview - an hour to talk uninterrupted (about me ha), in nice clothes. No little hands tugging you to go somewhere. Nice! Grin

MarshaBrady · 24/04/2013 13:31

lol Sleep! an empty square in Farringdon Grin, quite nice.

Which reminds me am so happy about the overground. 16 minutes. 16 minutes! Four stops. That is so good I can't believe it, might be the best bit about the whole thing Grin oh and possibility to buy some nice clothes .

shopafrolic · 24/04/2013 13:33

Nice one Marsha I'm still debating whether I go solo yet. If DH gets one of these jobs then I may hold off until DS is at school. Decisions decisions. I've enjoyed adult conversation and the planning though.
I only have one ridiculously priced scarf - a Mulberry. I definitely love it more than the others, wear it more, it sits better and works in most weathers. I've stopped buying cheap and disposable ones as a result. The other really hard worker is that red animal print FCUK scarf I got in TK Maxx, and the Missonis....

Marsha, QueenC your outfits both sound fabSmile

Grumpy, I bought the havianas from John Lewis. They're blue spotty ones with pink thongy bit.

I am still in shorts and t shirt today. Purple superdry t-shirt. Really good fit. With my fab beige Ann Taylor cropped chinos. And the havsGrin. Stacked rings today from Swaroski and an amethyst bangle. Finally, am wearing an anklet that I bought in Egypt. It's 22 carat white gold and v pretty. None of which I have worn in years! Not counting my watch is a pink Guess watch (a present) that has to be seen to be believed on the blingy scale!

Dh isn't just lobster red he is sunburnt. After one day. Words fail me .Hmm

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 24/04/2013 14:29

mmmm....pretty

santamarianovella · 24/04/2013 14:31

with scarves the more you pay the better quality you get,the good ones i have are worth every penny, they last longer, and im not gentle with my scarves,i twist, pull and tie them to an inch of their lives and they still are in an excellent shape.i bought a gucci wool one in the sale last year, and wore it to death, and it still looks brand new.
but with the chan luu ones i dont know, they just dont look that resilient.

Hopefully · 24/04/2013 14:40

Santa they are quite fine, but I am v rough with mine, and it still looks good. It has the odd little snag from getting caught on the (broken) strap of my AH bag, but because it's so huge and drapey, the snags don't show at all - I struggle to actually find them! They are deffo not right for anyone who likes neat scarves with any structure though, iykwim.

Novice your jewellery sounds lovely Envy

Foxy thanks for the PM Smile

AmberNectarine · 24/04/2013 14:43

santa - mine snags all the time. I love it, but I won't buy another.
