Hi all, just checking in quickly. Sounds like everyone is enjoying the weather, especially Marsha in the tropics of se London!

I've been a sheep and ordered the m and s snakeskin flats. Lovely quality but a bit tight. Shop, did they loosen up for you?

Look forward to your blog on the white brogues amber. Am tempted.

Liking the summer clothes links, finally!

Drywhiteplease · 24/04/2013 15:51

Oh My Goodness......I've just nearly had a fashion induced heart attack!!!!
I went into Whistles today to try on their dresses. Limited stock in my local/ pointless shop.
I've been kicking myself at missing
this beauty
But the 2 they had in my size were a fabulous fit and beautiful quality too....why haven't I ever been in before? Thanks MN/ bloggers for introducing me.
Anyway came home lamenting missing the above dress and to find that the Coast ( polyester) one still hasn't arrived.
Was just typing on this thread and when I happened to go onto Whistles web site to link ( the 3rd try!!) I saw a size 10 just popped up in the above dress in THE SALE!!!!! Unbelievable! Someone must have returned it ( thank you thank you!!)
It's fashion fate!!! Of course it's now on its way up north!
Happy day!

shopafrolic · 24/04/2013 16:14

MrsR the shoes did loosen. And one was really very tight. I wore them round the house for a day with socks on, two socks on the really tight foot, and they are now the perfect fit.
Drywhite Whistles dresses are fab, but getting much more man made fabrics. That said, I have two and love them both! It must have been fashion fate. Good news!

hopefully ,i think its the weave that im not keen on,they look pretty though,
amber i like the color of yours, its rare to find a cobalt colored scarf.

im loving the MCQ scarves,i had a look at them in harvey nics last week, but dont want to do any impulse purchases,im trying to stick to my list which is easier said then done!

Hopefully · 24/04/2013 16:37

Santa I quite fancy a McQ scarf - the main reason I haven't bought another chan luu is because I'm torn between that and saving for a McQ. However, the one I want I have never actually seen online! Saw it in Harvey Nics a few months ago - bright orange, and the skulls were kind of drawn, rather than the typical skull design. There were flowers on it too I think.

Hopefully · 24/04/2013 16:37

It occurs to me I could actually go and look in HN again, since I'm in London on Saturday...

Hopefully · 24/04/2013 16:40

Sigh. I have just found it as the first result on Google. I'm such a tit. Anyway, it's this one. But at £350 it ain't happening any time soon!

Decameron · 24/04/2013 17:12

DD2 seems fine again today, skin all clear apart from a few fading marks on her leg, phew!

Beautiful dress, Drywhite.

Well done, Marsha!

Best of luck to your husband, Shop.

Pickled, I try to vary them but I do have favourites (usually the newest one!). I have a weakness for DVF scarves in particular (but not exclusively!). I'm all scarfed out for a while.

Enjoy Doha, Sleep! I have relatives living there, must go visit sometime.

shopafrolic · 24/04/2013 17:42

Thanks Decam

I am now having second thoughts about the neon orangey pink scarf I picked up in Whistles yesterday (credit note burning a hole in my pocket), it was only £45 but 100% polyester, although it feels soft I wonder how quickly I will tire of it, my more expensive L&L ones have stood the test of time though. But £350 for the McQ one Hopefully? I couldn't do it...

That Whistles dress is lovely drywhite, much better for the occasion that the other two. Also fits your sleeve requirements which is quite a challenge with summer stock everywhere, I have been keeping an eye out for you!

Good news on interviews Marsha and Shop, fingers crossed for next stage. I am thinking of what I might do when all 3 DC are in school in 2014. Thinking of doing some kind of nutrition/personal training type stuff, with more of a psychological angle wrt overeating, yoyo dieting type issues. Either that or have another baby which is a tempting, but quite frankly mental idea but we are talking about it Shock

santamarianovella · 24/04/2013 18:03

oooh! thats lovely hopefully, but insane!their prices have gone up,i have the classic one and i dont remember paying that much.
i saw some similar ones in the matches sale, the one with flowers and faint skull print.maybe you can wait for the mid season sales.

shopafrolic · 24/04/2013 18:21

I want this scarf - probably no longer exists.....

Can I ask you all for some help? I have done a little feature on my blog reviewing four pairs of Paige jeans, my favourite of which I get to keep. However I am totally torn about which will be 'the ones' - if anyone fancies taking a look and giving me their opinion I would be much obliged!!

MarshaBrady · 24/04/2013 18:48

Novice your dh and not getting burnt because it's breezy made me chuckle, although sounds painful. Dh is like that. I get mad as Australia is lethal in terms of sun damage and he just laps it up Hmm. He is more olive skinned than I am, but still. He's always talking about going red before going brown, nuts.

Love that watch Grumpy, had no idea J. Crew did watches (with others).

Liberty that tshirt does look really good.

Shop I enjoy the potential to work, once I have that I feel good! I think I just like meeting people out there every now and again. I might have to actually do it this time. I also do something else, so don't want it to take up all my time.

Good work Drywhite! love that dress.

Sleep that sounds really interesting, is it very different to what you did pre-dc? I only have two dc, but I am one of four. I think my parents enjoyed it Grin.

Shop that is so funny! I loved that scarf. I bought it and had a wobble and returned to Liberty a couple of years ago. I loved the russian doll print, really took me back to something in childhood. But I just couldn't find a way to wear it. Wish I had kept it now, just so I had it!

BrandyAlexander · 24/04/2013 18:49

Thanks hopefully. My big clear out a couple of months ago unearthed some jewelry I used to love and wear all the time so its lovely to have brought a few. That scarf is gorgeous! Don't think I could part with £350 for it thoughGrin. I have seen some lovely scarves on Pinterest over the past few months, Some new ones are definitely on a/w 2013 want list. Hoping I won't them in summer.

MarshaBrady · 24/04/2013 18:51

The best scarf I didn't buy was a £500 one from Liberty. McQueen, so soft and with the palest illustrations. Sigh!

MarshaBrady · 24/04/2013 18:51

Will check it out Amber.

Hopefully · 24/04/2013 19:02

I wish the McQ was just a bit cheaper, but £300+, particularly for something that is 85% viscose has even me, the queen of 'buy less, buy better' raising my eyebrows.

Have had a day of ebay wins today - French Connection nix nights trousers, topshop waistcoat (which may well end up being too small, but I won it for £4 including postage, so I figure it's worth a punt!) and a Next (gasp!) olivey coloured casual shirt which looks like it might be useful. Which combined with the BCBG Maxazria cardigan which I won for a tenner yesterday and which came today and is perfect is making me feel rather smug and frugal. I am watching a vintage overcoat that is finishing tonight too - it's a large scale tartan print, and I'm thinking that with some alterations it will be a really fab coat for A/W, for less than the price of a plastic-fantastic high street one.

Decameron · 24/04/2013 19:03

Amber, I voted for the Ultra Skinny Pipeline (which seem to be in the lead right now).

Annianni · 24/04/2013 19:06

I did too Amber
Second fave are the jimmy jimmy's
Then the crop and bootcuts last.

Hopefully · 24/04/2013 19:07

I voted for the boyfriends Amber.

In other S&B news, I orderd a pair of bright yellow leggings from American Apparel a week or so ago. I think I thought they would make a nice loungewear outfit with plain cream t-shirts or something. They arrived today and I am looking at them thinking "WTF?" Why one earth did I think I wanted yellow leggings?!

Annianni · 24/04/2013 19:10

I think we need a link Hopefully :o

foxysocks · 24/04/2013 19:11

i was torn between pipeline skinny and bootcuts - which look fab on you - but went for the former.

shopafrolic · 24/04/2013 19:11

Voted last night Amber

just tried on this in john lewis which, in the words of amber, is so far up my street it should be paying me rent. looked fab with vejas and yellow tee. decided to leave for now as £55 but may keep an eye out for sales.
