I'd be up for that dry so long as I don't have other plans and it's somewhere I can easily get to ( I have trouble travelling)

shopafrolic · 23/04/2013 20:58

I love my Havs but can't wear the slim ones. Only the standard ones suit me (big feet)
Not sure when DH will hear Marsha - hopefully sooner rather than later. If Thurs interview goes well they want him in the USA first week of May and contracts will need to be finalised before then so hopefully they won't keep him waiting. Hope your work stuff come together.
No fashion news here. Amber what amazing weather you've got.
Decam I love that top
Off to browse the Outnet for stuff I can't buy!
Happy hols Novice

foxy, sorry for the delay, had a crazy afternoon and just managed to sit down.
im an 8 uk,and she got me the xs cause its an oversized ,its big but the cut doesnt drown you , very soft and can be tucked in jeans easily without looking bulky.
i think that madewell and j.crew are sister brands, but madewell has a more of a boho vibe to it, as opposed to j.crews preppy look.

GypsyFloss · 23/04/2013 21:27

Hopefully check out Amazon for good value Havs, mine all come from there and they're definitely the most comfortable flip flops I've ever had.

AmberNectarine · 23/04/2013 21:30

I like my ChanLuu. Was it worth £155 or whatever I paid? Not in a million years, but very little is worth what I actually pay!

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 23/04/2013 21:35

Ah now, a Northern meet up, that I could do! Don't know if I strictly qualify for Northern, more East Mids but it's Northern to a Chelsea-born such as I am...
The horse-news isn't really my news as we bought him for new clients. He's very nice though.
You've all got me looking for some Havaianas now Grin although shoe-room is now at a premium in my wardrobe.

pickledsiblings · 23/04/2013 21:41

Just had a not so quick catch-up read.

Foxy, the Hush shirt looks nice but a bit straight up and down maybe? Worth a try anyway. I too am off to sort out Quidco (did you do it Marsha?), you've inspired me. About the Chan Luu, if you can get it at £100 will you go for it? I'm tempted too as I keep buying scarves that I like but don't love and getting fed up with them (total cost >£100).

Decam, sorry to hear about poor DD2, I had hives as a kid and orange juice and lace (manmade fibres) seemed to be the main culprits iirc. Hope the antihistamine works a treat.

Novice, have fun in the sun. It's been lovely here today but is set to be rainy/windy by the w/e.

J Crew opening in Regent Street 'later this year' is all I've read - it'll probably be in time for Christmas rather than sooner or there would already be press about it, don't you think?

Hopefully, this Whistles leather jacket would be fab on you and it's not black!

Bought some shoes today from New Look. I'm not a fan of cheap shoes usually (as once I get a pair that fits I want them to last) but I was seriously impressed with the 'quality' of many of their offerings. Mine aren't on the website so can't link but they are nude strappy/studded stilettos, definitely of the moment so it probably doesn't matter that they won't last.

Hopefully · 23/04/2013 22:25

Foxy there are a few. I will let you know if I see one that looks particularly good - I am planning on doing some research this week some time!

I have actually ordered some clothes! Well, a pair of shoes. The orange ones, to be precise. I've also ordered this skirt, but suspect the yellow will be too bright and the black/white too much for me. But it's an itch I need to scratch!

Have also had a successful ebay day, with a warm grey drapey waterfall waistcoaty type thing which I have ambitions of belting in - we'll see how that goes when it arrives - and a cream BCBG Maxazria cardigan for peanuts.

Hopefully · 23/04/2013 22:25

Curse you Pickled, that jacket is gorgeous!

Hopefully · 23/04/2013 22:25

Oh, and Pickled I often rate NL shoes - I think they are some of the best really cheap shoes out there.

OneLittleLady · 23/04/2013 22:31

NL really are some of the best out there in terms of cheap shoes. I like that they have a wide fitting range as well since I find sometimes that standard fit is too narrow for my feet. They have a lot of choice as well which is nice if you're on a tight budget.

Have located an independent opticians in my town who will glaze normal designer sunglasses. Pricey but will be worth it if they can be glazed multiple times.

pickledsiblings · 23/04/2013 22:45

Great shoes Hopefully at last, an orange purchase for you; hope they're a good fit.

OneLittleLady, why are you having normal designer sunglasses glazed? I'm in denial about needing glasses, mainly because I've never found frames to suit me. I love the look of the new Stella McCartney optical eyewear range but hardly anyone stocks them.

Annianni · 23/04/2013 22:47

Just nipping in...

House of Fraser 25% discount, starts tomorrow at 5pm online, in-store Thursday and Friday.

Which means Whistles and premium denim etc if anyone's interested :o

And when they do one, JL might do the same. They usually do when Debenhams do it.

Annianni · 23/04/2013 22:51

Hope dd gets better soon Decam.

It's allergy related that's ds2's problem, I hate having to give him the medicine but hopefully he'll be better soon.

We went to the zoo again today.
It was glorious sunshine but windy too.

Very Envy of the bikini and shorts wearers.

libertychick · 23/04/2013 23:13

Probably the most unexciting purchase ever but this T-shirt arrived yesterday and it is perfect! It's a great shape, decent length and not see through. So pleased I have ordered another one and 2 of the grey ones.

Foxy I have been looking at the cobalt Chan Lau scarf for ages too but price is off putting and thinking I should really get my colours done before splashing out that kind of money on a scarf.

Wearing different outfits every day is going well.

Dec your poor DD, must be so uncomfortable, fingers crossed the medicine works quickly.

Enjoying all the links - work crazy ATM so struggling to keep up!

OneLittleLady · 23/04/2013 23:28

pickled I have to wear prescription sunglasses because I'm really really short sighted AND I have to wear reading glasses with a prisim and I'm not suitable for contacts or laser eye surgery Sad I really can't see without my glasses and I hate the totally unstylish glasses you can have with tinted lenses that I normally end up with. I have found a single optician with 18 choices of designer sunnies that they will put prescription lenses in so I'm going to go check them out and see how value you for money they are.

BrandyAlexander · 24/04/2013 05:22

Morning all! Only skimmed the thread so apologies if i read too fast and missed something. I wore the havianas all day yesterday and they are soooo comfortable. I had never heard of them before this thread so I am a total sheepGrin. Also I was a bit Shock how much about them as I normally do your cheapie jobbies and since my last pair were £1, £25 was a lot. But, well worth it!

Decameron really sorry about your dd. I come out in hives if i go out running and its too cold followed by hot shower. It's very uncomfortable but only lasts an hour. Can't imagine it for longer. Hope the antihistamine has kicked in.

Dh is already sporting the lobster look after one day. The silly beggar thought it wasn't that hot because of the breeze.Hmm

Hopefully · 24/04/2013 06:22

Pickled I know! I have had the orange lust for so long without doing anything about it Grin. I ordered the shoes in a 41 and 42 as topshop's sizing can be weird on me, so hopefully one pair will fit!

I have enough spare in my budget this month to get one or two more things from my S/S wish list, so am backing and forthing between a chan Luu scarf, £££ Sam Edelman sandals and a dress. Decisions decisions!

Think I will try on some Havaianas in town today too - I always end up with only one pair of nice summer flat sandals, and if I wear the Havaianas for more casual days the sandals might actually still look ok by the end of summer.

pickledsiblings · 24/04/2013 07:47

Ah OneLittleLady, I see, you will most definitely know more about this than me but aren't only certain types of frame able to take certain lens? There are definitely websites online that supply glazed frames for you to replace the lenses with your own prescription. Can you not get what you need from a site like this? I am absolutely clueless about prescription eyewear but I'll have to get savvy pretty soon.

Decameron · 24/04/2013 07:49

Thanks ladies. Pickled, we are not sure what caused the hives, it bothers her a lot when the antihistamine wears off. The GP wants to see her again on Friday. She said it may be a viral infection causing it.

Hope your DS gets well soon too, Anni.

That tee sounds great, Liberty, I think I will get one.

My Havaianas have lasted a couple of summers, they are expensive but you can always find a discount! I want a pink pair this summer.

I went through my summer clothes last night and tried to be ruthless. I have sandals from 10 years ago.

I'm a bit of a scarfaholic but I justify them by telling myself they'll always fit! Those Chan Lu scarves are gorgeous.

OneLittleLady · 24/04/2013 07:52

pickled it depends on the strength of the prescription which is why I have to go and make enquiries. My prescription might be too strong for the sunglasses they offer in which case I'll have to look elsewhere. Generally, the lower the prescription strength, the more options there are. Unfortunately for me, I have a really strong prescription so it really limits my choices. Hopefully this independent optician will have something more to offer me than what I can get in Specsavers or Boots

AmberNectarine · 24/04/2013 08:07

I have the same problem OneLittleLady - am hoping to get some prescription Wayfarers this summer.

OneLittleLady · 24/04/2013 08:11

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I can get something nice this year instead of the rubbish I've ended up with in previous years amber Hopefully this independent optician will be able to sort me out and I won't end up going without because I can't face another year in crap sunglasses

QueenCadbury · 24/04/2013 08:11

So, I'm wearing the cerise cardigan feeling a little out of my zone. It is so bright. I'm quite glad it's chilly so can put a jacket over it for the school run Grin

QueenCadbury · 24/04/2013 08:12

Hmm, comfort zone that should be...
