i was wearing shorts and a tee to read in the garden this morning

any opinions on this shirt?

I don't have any shirts at all, so one white and one chambray are on my list. this looks like a good material mix and a good price but there's something stopping me buying... don't know what. views?

QueenCadbury · 23/04/2013 14:10

marsha where the hell do you live and can I come and visit??

foxy I know it's sunny in Bristol today but shorts?? I must be a complete wuss. Not sure what to say about the shirt really. As white shirts go, it does look lovely and is very bargainous. Is it free to return? If so go for it and try it on.

QueenCadbury · 23/04/2013 14:12

Oh, forgot to say hello to novice in the med! Let me know how the Havianas go as I might get some as lady year I bought asda ones which see ed amazingly comfy for only £2 but one day on holiday absolutely ripped my toes to shreds. Happy to pay for havs if they don't do that!

Dauphin · 23/04/2013 14:19

Nice wardrobe staple Foxy. I always resent the outlay on the less 'exciting' bits of my wardrobe, but they do underpin everything else and at that price you've got to!

foxysocks · 23/04/2013 14:39

my garden is v sheltered queenc, it's baking in there today Grin

well the 8% cashback and MN code swung it for me Smile, just over £17 delivered. code also means free returns, although after reading the reviews it sounds perfect for me.

am also having pedi tomorrow with last of my april spends so all in all i am VERY happy Smile

foxysocks · 23/04/2013 14:40

queenc i wear havianas every year and they have never rubbed my feet. i love them and wouldn't buy another brand now.

santamarianovella · 23/04/2013 15:09

its a nice shirt foxy ,but im not too keen on the shape,it sort looks like it stands too stiffly.if returns are for free go ahead and order it.
chambray shirt is a must. im dying to wear my chambry shirt again.found great ideas on pinterest .

QueenCadbury · 23/04/2013 15:51

foxy you must be sheltered as I'm finding it rather blustery today. Will get myself some havs this year. Can't bear the thought of shredded sweaty toes.

foxysocks · 23/04/2013 15:53

where is yours from santa? was looking at j crew but i need to try on so will have to wait till they open in london

the reviews say it's v soft rather than stiff- i guess from the silk content. and long, which is great for me! anyway we shall see.

santamarianovella · 23/04/2013 16:31

its from madewell, i asked my friend to get them for me when she went to L.A last year,i wanted the jcrew one,but they were soldout in all the stores she went to,
its in the ex-boyfriend cut.
when is j.crew opening?i must be living under a rock!

foxysocks · 23/04/2013 16:50

end of the summer i think, can't remember, marsha might know.

the madewell one looks lovely, what's the sizing like? I have a friend headed to the states next week

MarshaBrady · 23/04/2013 17:05

QueenC I'm in glamorous SE London zone 2 Grin. The garden has big trees behind it which act as a wind break. I did put skinnies, check shirt and peacoat for sr, although many in shorts and ts, I felt too hot in the end!

Foxy great to see sun keenness Grin. The shirt is great, let me know how you find it might order too.

Novice sounds gorgeous, how's the swimming? I could do with a lovely swim.

I think J Crew is end of summer can't remember where I got that, need to check.

Drywhiteplease · 23/04/2013 17:13

Have a great hol novice

Dressed completely wrong today and boiled (despite northern parts) in vest and merino jumper! Not quite bikini top weather but I'm wearing cotton now and not so red in the face Grin

foxysocks · 23/04/2013 17:29

i was wearing olive cashmere over my tee this morning drywhite. FAIL. took it off as soon as I got in from the SR

so, these chan luu scarves. are they really worth £150? does NAP put them in the sale? have been deliberating for months now and it would be so flipping useful, but the price tag

foxysocks · 23/04/2013 17:37

marsha it's only £20 till midnight tomorrow,, then back to £30. and sort out quidco! 8% is good. i have made ££ since i joined.

MarshaBrady · 23/04/2013 18:00

Thanks Foxy am activating Quidco right now Grin.

What will you wear under the shirt do you think? Wonder if the sheerness will be an issue. I do need one very much and the £ is very good so think I will just go for it.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 23/04/2013 18:02

I am in awe of you ladies - shows what a soft southerner I am, despite having lived oop north for the past 7 years. I've been at the horse sales at Doncaster today, wearing (in list form):
Hobbs knee-length boots
Skinny jeans
Vest
Striped Jack Wills shirt
M&S cashmere V neck sweater
Cotton scarf
North Face quilted jacket
and I was only warm when stood in the sun and out of the wind!
Returned home to find my new Reiss boots, which I am absolutely in love with! I like them more than the horse we bought today...Wink

OneLittleLady · 23/04/2013 18:04

But.....it was warm in Doncaster today!

shopafrolic · 23/04/2013 19:03

Is Quidco the same thought of thing as Kidstart?
Tell us about the horse please Grumpy! Are you going to Pin him / her?

OP posts:
Hopefully · 23/04/2013 19:12

Grumpy I wasn't exactly in a bikini today - J brand Marias, kettlewell t-shirt, brown scarf, ankle boots and occasional biker jacket when the wind showed its face.

Foxy it is a rare day that I don't wear my chan luu scarf. I am contemplating getting one from a US ebay seller with good feedback (more like £100 including shipping), but can't quite decide what colour to go for.

Drywhiteplease · 23/04/2013 19:14

Ok northerners now coming out of the woodwork.....how about MN vogue northern meet up for those of us who can't make London in May?
If you come Grumpy I will tell you my huge equestrian faux pas at the paddock at York races with DH clients about 10 years ago ( now know a bit more about horses!!)

Decameron · 23/04/2013 20:04

Lovely and warm in London today. I am wearing this top with skinny jeans and old tan R&B sandals. Was a bit too warm.

I gave my neighbour my Iris & Ink (always type Irish there and have to correct it!) green cashmere, it was a bit too short and annoying me. Not that she will need to wear it for ages (I hope!).

Marsha Grin at boil wash.

I think that shirt would be a good buy, Foxy.

Congrats on the new horse, Grumpy!

Novice, have a wonderful time.

Poor DD2 still has urticaria, feel really sorry for her.

Decameron · 23/04/2013 20:05

QueenC, I love my havaianas, live in them when it is hot.

Hopefully · 23/04/2013 20:13

You all have me tempted by Havaianas now!

foxysocks · 23/04/2013 20:19

Which seller is it, hopefully? I guess there would be customs/import too.
