I love the JV flats too, can't decide between the neon trimmed and snakeskin for my fave. They could be he solitary May purchase, still not sure though.

I LOVE my vejas MrsR! Asos will soon be getting a 6 back in stock as managed to get a 5, the fit is perfect. Wore them today with j brand skinnies, coral vest and slouchy grey cashmere. Adore.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 22/04/2013 18:33

Received my demure bag from Cos today and I'm not sure about it. For starters, it's slightly bigger than I imagined which isn't exactly a problem, but it makes it a bit clunkier to cart around, rather than the dainty little number I thought it was. Also it's a decidedly biscuity shade of beige where I had convinced myself it was a pinky beige. I haven't returned it straight back because it is still very nice, just not what I was expecting. WWYD?

AmberNectarine · 22/04/2013 19:31

MrsR - I'm actually in possession of those studded brogues having been sent them by Portas agency to review (only on loan though)

Decameron · 22/04/2013 20:01

Grr, lost a post.

Anni, no, she is still covered in weals and red blotches, I feel sorry for her. She had it a few months ago and it took a couple of days for it to clear. Hope your DS is on the mend. She's asleep now, I persuaded her to take the antihistamine (with a bit of bribery). I've ordered her a few nice outfits for summer, which was fun. Glad the Hudsons and Ash worked out.

Thanks Grumpy for the tip, I'll check out the Gap shoes.

MrsR and Foxy, I like the Vejas very much.

Dauphin and MrsR, just started following you on Pin (SuzeM).

OK, better wrestle the iPad off DD1 and get her to bed.

Drywhiteplease · 22/04/2013 21:01

Grumpy knew you'd be the one in the know....it's York, but not Ebor week or my anything thing exciting I don't think absolutely gutted because a week after booking a day off work, unheard of in education term time I am invited to the royal enclosure at Ascot, life long ambition, no chance of getting another day off....sob. I haven't been to this one before but the people I'm going with have and always over dress.
I hadn't though of Bumping into the same dress....hardly discreet is it? Confused now.

QueenCadbury · 22/04/2013 21:19

Evening! amber hope you're enjoying CP.

drywhite like everyone else I like both dresses but I do really like the whistles one. Love the shoes too. Surprisingly next seem to have some really good shoes this season.

Managed a rather good shopping trip with dd today. Bought lots with the intent of trying it all out at home and quite a bit will be returned as it either doesn't work with the rest of my clothes as I'd hoped or once you get into the real light the colours are totally different than you thought in the shop (despite me acting like a loon and assessing everything against my swatches!). Anyway, hopefully you will hopefully be proud of me for embracing colour!

silver converse to replace my holey gold ones. Tried on Nike and adidas and they all looked like slippers on me so stayed faithful to converse.
blue tee
pink cardigan
pink shoes. I swapped the navy ones for these. I just love them and they really help to lift a neutral outfit.
This emerald tee is a gorgeous colour but it could do with being nearer my face so will probably go back.
Have also ordered this in Chinese blue. Not normally a fan of scarves but like the feel of this.
So that's me for a while (yeah right!) as I've yet to justify all this to dh. It's times like this when I miss earning my own wage!!

Sleepwhenidie · 22/04/2013 22:14

drywhite, couldn't resist linking to [[http://www.my-wardrobe.com/tara-jarmon/black-morning-butterfly-print-sleeveless-dress-797630 this dress] that I just happened across...think it would be lovely for the races too (though I love both the ones you posted there is a risk of there being others there as Grumpy said). Goes with the Next shoes too!

Sleepwhenidie · 22/04/2013 22:15

Link fail - sorry try again. V tired!

shopafrolic · 22/04/2013 22:42

QueenC I am very jealous of your winter diagnosis. Such beautiful colours. Great shopping. Need to go back over the last week of this thread to look at links properly. Mad busy here with DH interviews - a second one today and a final one for another job Thurs, and my work options.
Loving all the trainer links too.
Hopefully I wanted to thank you for the M&S cream tee link. Despite being viscose I have had a sweat free day and it is a great cut and good quality! I wore it with my Khaki Jigsaw trousers and animal print French Sole flats.

Loving the sunnier days.
I'm dreaming of a few key clothing purchases, some beauty bits and looking forward to the London meet up on the 18th. Hope all is good with everyone.... Happy holidays Amber. Loving the capsule wardrobe and those Asda blue aviators were amazing!
Marsha any news on the work front? And fair play on getting the pins out - braver than me!

Oh Sleep that dress is so beautiful and very me....the only thing is I'd like a 3/4 sleeve as the weather up north is so unpredictable, I'm trying to avoid having o buy a jacket and I hate being cold. S if anyone can find something similar with sleeves, under £200, I'd be much obliged.

MarshaBrady · 22/04/2013 23:13

That's lovely Sleep, I really liked both your other ones as well Dry.

Shop getting closer (takes ages all this stuff). Call with second person today, from same company as coffee guy a few weeks ago. Felt very independent as first time without a rec cons but slightly different to what I'm used to doing so would be a challenge.

And an interview this Wed. So I hope to be fully contributing very soon! Looking forward to the meet up very much.

When does your dh hear? Fingers crossed.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 22/04/2013 23:36

As lovely as that dress is sleep, I echo Drywhite's sentiment that it may not be adequate in the weather. The wind can fairly whip across the knavesmire and nothing ruins the memories of an otherwise good day than the lingering recollection of being f'ing freezing! If it's York you'll be fine with a dressy dress, Drywhite as the ladies do like to go to town on their outfits up there . I may well see you there (although you wouldn't know it Wink). I'd steer clear of the whole hat/fascinator thing though. You will see plenty around, but they really single out the novices. Racing pros tend to only do hats at the very big meetings like Royal Ascot or the Cheltenham Festival although we only really dress up for RA. Sorry you won't make it to Ascot - it's really one of my year's highlights albeit a pretty gruelling week. By the Saturday evening I'm ready for my sofa with trash TV, takeaway curry and my PJs!

Drywhiteplease · 23/04/2013 07:29

Grumpy I'm working on an invite for next year....!Wink
I loath fascinators and suspected my lot had gone a bit bonkers last year!
At least you know what I'll be possibly wearing ( along with 7 other lovelies!!)

Drywhiteplease · 23/04/2013 07:52

P.s Grumpy do I tell my friend Hyasynth Bouquet that her wonky fascination made her look like a "novice"?!!! ........unlike poor foxys friend, I wouldn't dare!

Dauphin · 23/04/2013 09:55

Ah, that's great Decam!

I used to love Ascot, now we mainly do point-to-point with children in tow! Very civilised though, with delicious picnic and Pimms. Times have changed....

Sunny here. Off shopping with DD2 who is rocking her breton, denim mini and quilted jacket.

Hopefully · 23/04/2013 10:59

Shop you are doing better than me! I haven't worn mine yet. Am waiting for warm enough weather that I am not wearing 72 layers over the top of it...

QueenC yay, well done! Looks like loads of lovely colours there.

I am watching a few bits on ebay at the moment (the glamour).

MarshaBrady · 23/04/2013 11:06

What a gorgeous day.

I am now in garden in bikini top and shorts .

I am preparing for any poolside behaviour that may occur in the next few months and am taking the glare off Grin.

Ps garden is very sheltered, not overlooked and a sun trap - to use recent estate talk.

Have been enjoying the links Dauphin, MrsR and QueenC lovely stuff.

MarshaBrady · 23/04/2013 11:09

Decam I don't think so on the MiH. Feels like a bit of an overload and need other more summery stuff. They'll probably be on the outnet soonish.

Plus with 7/8 sleeves in Bruno and peacoat can't wear with crop might look like a boil wash too far.

Hopefully · 23/04/2013 11:14

Goodness Marsha! Either you are more robust than me, or it is warmer with you than in Devon Grin

Does anyone have a Hawes & Curtis shirt? What's the sizing like? Am watching on on ebay.

I'm not robust I promise Grin it's very warm (in this corner). Might have to get the straw sun hat.

Hopefully · 23/04/2013 11:23

Thanks Travel. It's a 12 I'm watching - I'm thinking the 12 will fit my shoulders better than the 10, and I'll get the waist altered.

Hello from the Med! Semi stressful journey here (you need to be thick skinned to take an active toddler in club class!) after dd was up about 4 times in the night. Dh spent this morning grumpy (lack of sleep) but has cheered up despite some murderous looks from me while he did conf call in kids playground.Grin

We have hired a villa which is lovely. Hoping to avoid poor Sleep's holiday stresses but ds did take a flying dive into the pool this morning!

Definitely no new clothes purchases to report these next 2 weeks! Today am wearing beige Ann Taylor long shorts (amazingly comfortable) and grey and green Superdry t-shirt with my havianas (new and never had them before, was inspired by someone else talking about them on here). Jewelry is a jade bangle I bought from China and a Swarovski ring with a round green stone (I have no idea which one!). Neither of which I have worn this year!

Marsha, again, I bow to you. I don't think i do bikinis below 24. Just too much of a wuss!Smile
