Oh that note, have a fabulous holiday Novice and Amber.

BrandyAlexander · 21/04/2013 13:40

Afternoon everyone! Thanks for holiday wishes. I am really excited now as it feels like its been a hard few months and I could do with a break. This week I finished the big project I have been working on for the past 8 months so relief all round. However dh has just told me that he has a deal closing this week so he will be on conference calls.Hmm

Why does packing with young ones take so sodding long?! Feels like I have been at it all weekend! Clothes wise, about half the stuff i am taking are all new things for the first time in about 7/8 years. I have deliberately left some old favourites behind just to be different. Would love to have had a total overhaul but didn't see enough inspiring things for me in the shops. I am taking a dress that I have had since I was 25!

Accessories wise, I have deliberately left anything I have worn on the last 6 months behind to try and feel fresh.

It's a pity all the illnesses have put paid to my plans to look toned on hols for the first time in 5 years. Sad

Hope you're all having lovely Sundays. The dcs are loving the sun in the garden. Marsha you're a hardier woman the me! Shorts today?! I am a total wuss so i just bow down to you.Grin

MarshaBrady · 21/04/2013 14:07

Lol Novice Grin. Am sure I am a wuss really. A cloud just appeared and it's cold so have wandered inside. Congratulations on the big project, hope it it's not too stressful for your dh from afar. Don't worry about the exercise thing you'll look fab. I totally agree about packing it takes ages. I have dreams about never ending packing and it feels like that.

Liberty great news on fourth time lucky M&S!

QueenC congrats on season, there are a few winters around (gets with lingo).

Did anyone get the MiH voucher from Donna Ida? £30. .

foxysocks · 21/04/2013 14:31

yes I did marsha. the paris in white look good but i still think they are a bit high waisted for me. i want hipster slouch in my white jeans!

MarshaBrady · 21/04/2013 17:40

Ah me too now! I would love some slouchy white hipster ones.

Drywhiteplease · 21/04/2013 20:54

Ladies, would you mind telling me if
this dress
With
these
Is nice or completely hideous? I'm going to the races in June and am sick of the lack of print in my wardrobe. I want something brave but don't want to look ridiculous. The nude courts and matchy bag look looks a bit frumpy to me, or have I lost it?

Thank you

libertychick · 21/04/2013 21:11

Drywhite I think the blue shoes and coast dress is a great races look - not so keen on the bella - it's lovely but not as glam for some reason.

QueenC congrats on being a winter - I think the main reason I haven't done HoC yet is the fear of not being a winter!!! Love the colours you have pinned today.

AmberNectarine · 21/04/2013 21:11

drywhite - I love both those dresses, though the second one just edges it for me. I am all about the tropical this season. I actually blogged those shoes, so naturally I think they're fab!

carrie74 · 21/04/2013 21:30

drywhite both gorgeous dresses, but I think I prefer the second, looks slightly edgier to me.

Drywhiteplease · 21/04/2013 21:31

Ooh thanks.....I don't tend to get angsty about fashion and age but occasionally I'm a bit Confused your opinions are gratefully received . Have ordered the Coast dress, will report back and pop into Next tomorrow although I'm supposed to be on a post holiday spending ban
.have a great holiday Amber and Novice

Dauphin · 21/04/2013 21:52

Hi. I have a yen for these lovelies. Can see them with fitted chambray shirt, boyfriend chinos, Wayfarers, tanned ankles and red lippy (not that I've overthought this...)

Party sounds fab Decam...oi...it's Dauph...! Grin

Annianni · 22/04/2013 07:23

I like both dresses Drywhite.

Well done on being a Winter QueenC.

Hope you have nice holidays Novice and Amber.

Shorts Marsha, blimey... it's not been warm enough for those yet here :o

Decameron · 22/04/2013 07:26

Oops, sorry, Dauphin! Great shoes.

Drywhite, I like both those dresses and think that they will both go with the shoes, but prefer the Whistles dress.

Novice I always end up repacking an hour before I leave (when I realise my bag will be way overweight!). Have fun.

I got the Donna Ida voucher, Marsha but thought I'd better not. Though do like the MIH Paris. Are you going to buy something?

Ordered this on sale from Boden (shh), I'd ordered it a while ago and had to return as I'd overspent that month but really liked it and it's half price now. Better get that Phil & Teds sold asap!

Annianni · 22/04/2013 07:28

I got the Donna Ida email and I'm quite glad that MiH don't suit me, so I don't get tempted.

That lipstick looks fab on you Amber

And what's in your Nap basket Foxy?

Drywhiteplease · 22/04/2013 08:00

Decameron I love hat cardigan/ jacket.....half price you say?!!!ooooooh nooooooo.........

Hopefully · 22/04/2013 08:22

Decam that's a lovely jacket/cardigan.

Dauphin it's clear you've put some thought into that pair of shoes! I must buy some flats - have got a yen for some slipper flats, might have a quick peruse in town later.

AmberNectarine · 22/04/2013 08:24

Dauphin, you've just massively helped me out!

Dauphin · 22/04/2013 09:29

Intrigued, Amber, do tell...

I have been coveting a J & M Davidson spring cardi-esque coat for ages and now Armstrong has mentioned it, they will be everywhere ...don't you hate it when that happens?

Decameron · 22/04/2013 13:52

Drywhite, the Boden code is A654 if you want to order the cardigan.

Really like these Jemima Vines (are they the ones you have, Amber?) but not sure they'd go with jeans, which is what I often wear.

Poor DD2 has hives, took her to the doctor this morning as it appeared out of nowhere yesterday afternoon. She is covered in welts, poor thing. Hope the antihistamine clears it up soon (not easy to get her to take it even with a syringe/bribe of chocolate buttons).

AmberNectarine · 22/04/2013 14:07

Same style but I've got the snake print. Can't see why they wouldn't work with jeans...

Decameron · 22/04/2013 14:11

I might give them a try when the credit card recovers! Need to update DD2's wardrobe, I have a lot of DD1's old clothes for her but a lot of the colours don't suit her although they are both quite pale. Even DH remarked on it and told me to get her some new outfits.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 22/04/2013 16:14

Drywhite which race meeting are you going to? There is a truly vast difference between how people dress at different courses/meetings. For my money, I much prefer the Whistles dress. I tend to steer clear of Coast as it's fairly ubiquitous at racecourses - a bit of a 'go-to' staple for weddings and days at the races (ie that hideous term, occasionwear) and you're bound to see people wearing variants of your outfit or, worse, exactly the same!

Annianni · 22/04/2013 16:15

Lovely shoes Decam
Is dd ok now?

I've had ds2 to the docs today. Need to give him medicine later... that'll be fun...

My 2nd bargain ebay Hudson's are here and they are fab.
Perfect fit (i actually asked for measurements this time) and skinny without being too skinny iykwim.

Also got the Ash Virgo's and I love them.
So much that I wore them straight away.

MrsRadicchio · 22/04/2013 16:34

I have recently bought those JV flats decam and they are lovely. I plan to wear them with jeans! Amber posted a 20% off code a few pages back, so I took advantage of that.

Dauphin I am keen on some white brogues too. I like those you linked. Also these Mary Portas x clarks Love a studded shoe!

Also love these

My grenson arrived today. Think they look better in the flesh, less clumpy!! But am going to try them on properly tomorrow (DS1 wanted to wear them!) when DS1 is at nursery to see if I can make them work.

Lovely dresses Drywhite I think I prefer the whistles one by a whisker, but just cause I prefer those colours.

Love the white boots btw Amber! Inspired me to wear my (not white) Frye cowboy boots yesterday.

Wearing the veja today. Tried them on the weekend with indigo jeans and white jumper - trying the PP look, not sure it worked, they looked quite like I was dressing down in my running trainers!! Today am wearing them with burgundy leopard print skinnies and a slouchy aztec top, think it works better this way actually, on me. Or need to go for a smarter outfit and try them on!

No idea what your friend was on about Foxy! I think they are quite inoffensive!

Queen sounds like you had a great day getting your colours done and your wardrobe is in keeping with your colours, which is useful. Though not if you fancied a shopping spree!

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 22/04/2013 17:29

Love those JVs Decam. I was in Gap in Nottingham yesterday and they had something remarkably similar which, annoyingly, aren't on the website. I know they won't be of comparable quality, but they looked very alike.
