Good morning lovely ladies. The sun is shining!! squeal
Lovely party and then friends for dinner yesterday. They're getting married next year so lots to talk about and too many bottles of Waxed Bat consumed. Feeling a little tender again this morning.
Roast lunch with friends and DS' this afternoon, fingers crossed for good behaviour (from the two boys not the adults).
In honour of the sunshine I may get my ankles out and wear the M&S snakeskin slippers, no idea with what yet - talk about planning an outfit from the bottom up!
What's everyone up to today?

Morning all! Sounds like a great evening shop. Oh and great news on your dh, fingers crossed.

I am sadly, paying for being foolish. I stopped taking the antibiotics when I got really busy at week which means the illness is back with a vengeance. Dh is understandably cross because everyone's immune systems are weak and we're worried about the virus recirculating back round the family. He's being kind really as I would be livid if tables were turnedBlush. So not much plans to wear anything special today.

I have been holiday shopping and bought a few Freya bikinis, hats and beach bag this morning from figleaves. Have pinned them http://pinterest.com/noviceoftheday/casual-wear/ here There is 20% off and the code is TWENTY.

BrandyAlexander · 14/04/2013 09:32

oops that didn't work! pinterest.com/noviceoftheday/casual-wear/

shopafrolic · 14/04/2013 09:45

Oh Novice get well soon. I ended up on my antibiotics for 2 weeks in the end. This morning I've woken up with a sore throat again - I'm ignoring it, the sun WILL make it go away!

foxysocks · 14/04/2013 10:39

oh novice poor you. i can understand wanting to stop early but if you take ABs it's REALLY important to finish the course.

sunny but very ominous looking dark grey clouds here. DH take DCs for a bike ride while I do yoga (just one more coffee.....) and then we are going for a walk later before roast dinner.

not sure what to wear. poss skinnies, vejas and grey marl sweatshirt a la the frugality pinterest.com/pin/250231323018399185/ although my sweatshirt is a little worse for wear (6 yrs old). might add one to my 'want' list....

foxysocks · 14/04/2013 10:42

queenc if that bag is really leather it's a bargain

i love the grey rocco. mega bucks though. maybe for my fortieth

MarshaBrady · 14/04/2013 11:09

Morning lovely sunny voguettes. Have been knee deep in house viewings and 8 year old birthday parties, well just ds's yesterday.

Am in J Crew yellow t in sunshine, and J Brands, plus wellies, very muddy.

Shop sounds good, good luck to dh in interviews.

Novice hope you feel better soon.

Foxy yes to a rocco, would be fab.

Big wave to everyone.

AmberNectarine · 14/04/2013 12:05

I love my Rocco, but it is wearing terribly. I'm not Mrs Precious with my bags, I'll admit, but the trim has worn right away in places after 4 months!

santamarianovella · 14/04/2013 12:32

that does not sound good amber,i had a terrible experience with alexander wang ,i bought a pair of platform shoes a couple of years ago and vowed not to buy anything from them again! very very poor quality, and to think with this kind of price you would actually get a decent pair of shoes.American designers can do clothes, but with shoes and bags they just dont get it right.

shopafrolic · 14/04/2013 12:36

Take it back Amber - that's ridiculous deterioration. Even if you exchange for a shiny new one.....

BrandyAlexander · 14/04/2013 14:18

Thanks for good wishes, i feel a little better after a nap though still in bed. Dh trying v hard not to look cross! Especially when I told him our upcoming holiday is not looking quite so bargainous anymore! Hmm

Amber that's shocking! You should email Alexander Wang directly at least.

QueenCadbury · 14/04/2013 15:08

I've just ordered the oasis bag as I found a 25% off code. Will report back if it really is leather or plastic.

amber I wouldn't be very impressed and would definitely contact them.

novice get well soon.

MrsRadicchio · 14/04/2013 15:16

Hello all, lovely to see the sun shining - finally! Novice hope you get better soon. Shop what did you wear with the snakeskin flats in the end?

Foxy am pleased you like your vejas! I am pleased with mine though managed to mislay them for a few days. Put them away and then couldn't find them.

Today am wearing (from the bottom up, shop style!)
blue miista sliper shoes
navy polka dot trousers
white long sleeved t-shirt
liberty padded jacket for going outside.

Would like some advice re dying these neon trousers.

What colour will cover the neon? I'd like a pair of lilac / purple chinos, but not sure that would work with these. And does dylon work on clothes with elastane? Thanks!

Hopefully · 14/04/2013 17:46

MrsR the best thing for dying over any colour is a darker/similar colour, unless you want to get into colour stripping (which can knacker clothes IME). Those trousers might go tan/mustard/brown/dark yellow/green, but probably not much else. How much elastane will affect how well the dye takes.

foxysocks · 14/04/2013 18:03

can you return the neons MrsR if you're not sure they'll work for you?

I LOVE the vejas! took me a day or two but I wore them all round the house today and tried them on with lots of diff stuff. the shape is excellent for me and the grey/coral combo is brill. they are a bit too big but I'm not convinced the size down wouldn't have been too small - I could barely get the NBs on in that size, maybe my feet have grown a bit?!

foxysocks · 14/04/2013 18:05

I had a quick hour in town today and maaaaan it was v depressing. plastic shoes, plastic clothes, cheap hemming, thin fabrics to the point of evaporation.

AmberNectarine · 14/04/2013 18:08

NBs come a little small, remember that about the pair I had as a teen and it is true of the ones I have now.

Returned a leopard print shift dress from Gap that was pretty but not right for my body shape, and exchanged for a pair of strappy grey flat sandals and a neon yellow shirt.

Hopefully · 14/04/2013 18:29

So, I have been thinking about ordering this anglomania cardigan for ages, and I have just realised it is not only 78% polyester, the remaining 22% is nylon! For £297!!! Shock. So, I'm on the look out for an alternative. I need a cardigan for spring/summer. I'm not wedded to natural fibres, but I am if I'm spending £300!

Hopefully · 14/04/2013 18:30

My teenage NBs were a size 9, and I am a 7.5/8. I remember they always annoyed me, as the size 9 was just a bit too big, but I'd insisted on having them so had to wear them to death.

MarshaBrady · 14/04/2013 18:49

I had some NBs once, a gift from some boyfriend. Wish I had kept them now, think I threw them out .

OneLittleLady · 14/04/2013 18:51

I'm now sporting a vair trendy tubergrip on my ankle after somehow twisting the ligaments. Ladies, do try to contain your jealousy at my immense sense of style. Grin

shopafrolic · 14/04/2013 20:17

So from the bottom up (shopstyle - love that!) I wore snakeskin flats

j Brands
hard working sweater
necklace

I confess to being a little bit drunk this evening so please bear with me!

OP posts:
foxysocks · 14/04/2013 20:23

Hmm maybe I need to try and track them down in a 5 then. Gah!

foxysocks · 14/04/2013 20:24

I wore skinny blue j brands, neon pink slouchy tee, rag and bone biker and navy converse. No scarf!!!

MarshaBrady · 14/04/2013 20:43

I may zip up my Stella M coat in the protector thing....

Must be able to by now.
