Just checking in having finally sat down for the first time in two days, and realised it's way past my bedtime.

Not the most restful of breaks so far. I spent virtually the whole day yesterday in the car, ferrying the DCs to/from various sleepovers, parties, rehearsals, haircuts and so on, snatching the briefest half-hour at the shops, where I picked up a nice shirt in the Laura Ashley sale (they are in danger of going tits-up, apparently, and judging by the stuff on sale, I'm not surprised).

Today DM and DSD are visiting, so I spent the morning cleaning (naturally), then we all decamped to watch DD1's Drama Club end-of-term show. Very flash; instead of the usual cramped village hall it was in a "proper" theatre. DD1 did a lovely Alice in Wonderland monologue, some singing (not her forte), then some very cool street-dancing, dressed as a shark. She wasn't a bit nervous. We also had to sit through a hour of other people's children prancing about dressed as ladybirds and dalmations, but some of the littlies were soooo cute, it was actually rather entertaining.

Anyway, the Easter Bunny is off to bed, and hasn't set up the usual egg hunt for the morning because, quite frankly, he can't be bothered, and let's face it, they're only after the chocolate

bigTillyMint · 31/03/2013 05:31

Am in disgrace as I am still feeling knackered and wanted to just lie by the pool after breakfast DD and DH have gone down to the beach with DS, DD moaning loudly that this is a family holiday and that we should be doing everything togetherHmm

Maybe the Easter bunny will just eat all the melty eggs herself [bugrin]

hattymattie · 31/03/2013 08:26

Do I take it that making a quick diversion through Cambridge on the way up north with our luggage in the car in July might not be a good idea?

Love the Diane von Furstenburg/Sainsbury dress - must get me one of those. Grin

BTM - you lie by the pool and think of us freezing people at home.Smile

Blackduck · 31/03/2013 08:40

Sod 'em BTM -you enjoy the pool. (Where are you exactly?)
In between the house stuff (isn't that what Easter weekend is for). We have done the local egg hunt and watched Argo last night (argofuckyourself :) ). Today have a colleague of dp's over to talk work -still not sure what I'm cooking.

MrsS - see the joy of living in the sticks is if you don't get it on first shopping trip it doesn't happen for another month :)

Happy Easter all

bigTillyMint · 31/03/2013 09:01

Happy Easter! Bit lost on the days/time - we are in AoNang, Krabi. DC currently scoffing room service on the balcony, listening to some pop music whilst DH and I do not plan the second half of our stay.

Herbs always finds the funky clothing in SainsbosEnvy - ours never seems to have anything cool in when I look.

bigTillyMint · 31/03/2013 09:07

In other crepey news, I watched The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel on the flight over and loved it!

In S&B news, one of my bikinis has gone see-through. On the fanjoShock I will HAVE to peruse the bikinis here, though I fear they are all for slim young things!

Btm sarong Time Grin
Everyone still in bed here.
My tasks for the day are picture hanging in the newly decorated bedroom( get up dh so I can hammer!Angry)
Dismantling the dyson and cleaning the filter as it is making a chokey noise.
Poor dm & ddad both in bed with the wretched cold and d&v combo.will be visiting later with nutrients and vittels.
Lunch today will consist of Lindt bunnies( large size) and the wide selection of Ritter chocolate bars dd brought from BerlinGrin
Usually we spend Easter planting our seed potatoes and onion sets but the snow is still thick on the ground.

BD would you recommend Argo?
Think I might like it < despite Afflek aversion>

motherinferior · 31/03/2013 11:35

I want a holiday. Haven't had a proper holiday for bloody YEARS. How do I manage to be 50 in June and not able to have holidays?

In S'n'B news am clutching bag of lovely freebies from beauty journo mateGrin. In less lovely news we are all bloody exhausted and keep crashing out which is profoundly boring. DD1 really not v well, poor baby.

Blackduck · 31/03/2013 11:44

Cremo - Argo - good at beginning and end, bit flat in the middle. Feels like it should be longer somehow...

MI - why can't you have a holiday?

motherinferior · 31/03/2013 11:48

I can't afford to pay for half a holiday and DP can't afford to pay for a whole holiday.

bigTillyMint · 31/03/2013 11:48

DS and DH watched Django Unchained on the plane and enjoyed it, BD, if you are looking for a film to watch?

I definitely got some colour today - especially on my back which I foolishly asked DH to cream. And I have no rashie to cover up with tomorrow as DS had massively grown out of his and had to have mineSad

bigTillyMint · 31/03/2013 11:52

Oh xposts MI - feel really bad now for moaning about small issues on my hol when you may not be able to get away at all.

We have a huge tent and all equipment if you want to borrow it for a cheapie hol?

Blackduck · 31/03/2013 11:52

Ahh MI I see.....not even five nights in Kefalonia (it's cheap - honest ;) )
BTM - you aren't doing well on the holiday clothing are you :)

bigTillyMint · 31/03/2013 12:02

BD[bugrin]

Shopping's looking good after dinner! Though DH is adamant that we should wait till we go back to Bangkok for cheap genuine fakes!

Oh Ruby :( sorry to hear all that - hope you get to drink the champers soon!
Our dinner guest appears to have got lost....

CointreauVersial · 31/03/2013 13:39

Everyone has gone for a walk, except me (and DS, who is XBoxing), and they will no doubt be expecting lunch on their return. Meanwhile, I am slumped on the sofa still digesting breakfast. Blush

Cremolafoam · 31/03/2013 13:53

MI we're not having a holiday this year either because of being on the waiting list for op.being broke and having stuff to do to the garden
